    Server downtime

Oh, I can think of a reason why it's not been posted, but then I'm sure the community people don't want to hear it. While the server downtime wasn't posted on Facebook, the training room stress test looks to be there and not here. Way to keep us informed guys.

There's IOs for that, or even Acro. Shall I mention /elec has no heal until 28? Like I said, /dark will be slower to develop, but that doesn't mean it's a bad set.
  3. It's unknown because these are from i22/i23 at best.

There is a quick and dirty way to get to the good part however you define it. Link It will work for both /elec and /dark. Between the two, /dark has more upswing when you invest in it, but it will be the slower one to get to the good point. It is easier to make a /elec look good through customization.

    Server downtime

Am I missing some painfully obvious post on the server being down again, or is this yet another undocumented maintenance? It's getting rather frustrating as hell to log on, get into a mission, and "Oh by the way, we are taking down the servers again" and yet there is no posting of this that I can see on the forum. "Sorry for the inconvenience." It wouldn't be so inconvenient if people would actually post when this is suppose to happen. Apologies if this info is somewhere I am missing.
  7. One of the most frustration experiences I have ever had in game was on a speed ITF with my Bots/traps. The real salt on the wounds moment was being told my pets were only needed during a couple of times. I couldn't wait to get off the TF and anything would have been more fun to play. I can't image playing a petless MM unless for sadomasochistic reasons. The build would be more worthless than a pure healer who only has one attack. At least the numbers for a Emp def are good.

Because this is bugging me. How far did you get on your Kat scrapper? I ask because the two biggest heavy hitters for Kat come in at 26 and 32. If you played it to let's say 16, then you really didn't see the damage Kat can do. In terms of sheer DPS, Kat is rather good so the only tanker sets that would be out damaging you would fall into the AoE based sets. A Shield tank has a chance in terms of ST damage, but that's it.

No groups are immune to any sort of damage. If something is typically heavily resisted, then you are looking at 50% resist unless you look at EBs, AVs, GMs, etc... I've never really felt like Kat had any damage issue even against normal mobs that resist it rather heavily. Kat attacks also take the -res proc so you can help smooth out those tougher foes. Kat is honestly the one primary that I can't think of anything bad about it.

I'm not saying you should pick it, but just making sure you understand more about it.

    Drain Life

I'm rather curious as to why they made Life Drain an 8seconds attack, when they made Siphon Life a 10second, and they fill more or less the same role in their respective sets.

While Blaster dark blast, and Masterming Necromancy follow different patterns, a 10second/1.96ds Life Drain (Tier3 equivalent) would really help to round out the Corruptor and Defender Dark Blasts a bit better IMO.

Not that I'm ungrateful, I'll take new Life Drain over old Life Drain anyday. It's just odd to me.
It's still in beta, so you can go to the beta forums and give your feedback there.
  10. My guess is you are soloing on +0x1. At level 29 that is going to be rather slow in terms of leveling speed. You'll want something more like +1x1, or even +1x2. You just need to figure out what you can handle and go from there. There are other factors here as well for diff setting. If you are doing generic old school story arcs then those will be the easiest. Radio missions can likely be easier since you get to pick the mob type, but if you do a bank mission you will fight an EB at some point. Tip missions are definitely the hardest to pull off. AE missions you just kind of have to roll the dice in terms of difficulty.

Another thing to consider, log out in police stations and work on getting the day job badge for doing so. You get an exp bonus for completing missions for a period of time and that bonus goes up once you have the badge. Pretty much any character I have logs out at a place where I work towards that day job until I hit level 50.

Rise of the Phoenix. And no, you could not do it without dying if you aren't using inspirs. Starting with the most basic of slotting, if you slot more than 3 of the same IO in a power, you are losing out an a ton of the percent you think you would be getting. If you see a power that has, let's say, 6 resist damage IOs, make it 3 instead.

  12. Just remember that when you go and get certain IOs from the market you may likely have to thank a farmer for keeping the price that low and having as many be there in the first place. Have prices on certain things on the market gone down since recent threads on farming in the brute forum have been posted? Yes, they have. Oh noes, farming is ebil. Take away farming and the supply will instantly get overwhelmed by the demand.

Elec armor is the best set for trials, so it's kind of like saying how great Invul is while on a S/L mission. Energize isn't better than the other two. Dark Regen can make a tank go from 1 hp to full health in one use. Healing Flames recharges in 40 sec. Energize recharges in 120 sec. The fact that Energize helps with end recovery is a small benefit considering Elec has Power Sink.

EDIT: I do like Elec though and it might be my favorite armor to play right now.

Wait, a power that only works when you have been defeated is one reason a set is better? Dark and Fire have better healing, but Elec has better resistance as well. Based on SOs, Fire is the weakest set. Once you factor in IOs and Incarnate, I don't think there is a set that's weak.

+1. My most loaded up character didn't sell a single thing the first two days of 2x exp weekend. After that things started to move.

6 months is better than a week for NCSoft, but 6 years is far better.

I don't know if there are people who have been playing CoH for 6+ years and who have farmed and PLed their toons non-stop for that whole period. I would surmise that those people are few. I may be wrong.

    Eco.
I don't think they were staying that long anyway since they never took the time to get invested in the game in the first place.

Healing Flames, Burn, and FE all cause redraw and two of those you want to be using as much as possible. While none of them directly break the combos, DB more then any set benefits from consistently attacking and /fire goes against that.
  20. Rain won't be that big of a factor against AVs. Scourge, however, will.
  21. There will always be request for healers. These requests are to be ignore unless you like getting on bad PuGs. My ramblings on Emp are on the defender forum so I'll just say Dark/thermal corr and leave it at that. I would probably go Ice/thermal, but that's more of what I would do.
  22. The time required and ease of doing said arc varies. The arc does have 4 EBs in it and some are more annoying than others.
  23. Brute Pro: Gets SS
    Scrapper Pro: Gets Spines.

I think the default answer is brute unless there is something specific about the build on a scrapper that makes it worth rolling. The higher damage cap of a brute to me doesn't really come into play for normal play since it's so high and you need 100% fury with other buffs to reach it. For normal content, a brute isn't going to out damage a scrapper given the same sets. There's a reason scrappers can't go SS/shield yet.

Short, fun fights, and with an awesome bonus for non-50's at the end that turns into a reward for incarnates after you hit 50.
Wouldn't the new TF be Sutter? I like the TF,but the ease in doing it does seem to go up rather nicely based on how many higher up teammates you have since it has a 20-40 range.
  25. Fire/kins are notorious slow starters for no other reason than Hotfeet is one of the worst end sucking toggles in the game. Add in Fulcrum not coming to 38 for a controller and it's definitely a late bloomer, but a strong build once it develops. A controller/dom would be my default pick to team with a stalker though since they can lock down the mobs and make it easier for the stalker to weed through the mob.
