  1. I'm sure you covered this base, but what about 'teleport' to enemy like what the malta do? They teleport and attack at virtually the same time, the difference here would be to not have the flashy thing for teleport. IE. Master Ching just did a flying side kick so fast he 'blinked' from view. I think it might work.

  3. Since you seem to interested in using the term "Type R" let me ask a very simple and to the point question. Do you think solo heroes should ever be "Type R" otherwise called "High Powered"?

    Standing against overwhelming odds and laughing in the face of danger. Many comic book heroes are "Type R" and I'm sure many players had that concept in mind when creating one here.
  4. It's probably not possible at this moment or ever, but I was wondering if we could get either or mission objectives (sorry if this was posted before, I checked and couldn't find it).

    So as a few examples;

    Defeat Boss A or Boss B, if you defeat one of them them mission ends and you get one thing said from the contact if you defeat the other you get told something else.

    Other examples might include a 'fail' option where even if you fail an option by not saving someone the storyline progresses.
    "Lord Recluse may be defeated by Villain X, I'd rather face a threat we know then one we don't." But you end up letting recluse be defeated.

    Or even "Talk to Hostage One or Two" so different hostages have different 'perspectives' that define the storyline, depending on who you talk to, that's how your storyline progresses.

    I've had quite a few ideas for story-lines, they mostly seem to involve making choices though. That's what I've always though was interesting about super-heroes or even anti-heroes, making choices or even tough choices, and their consequences.
  5. Yeah I'll agree with you on this, some words that are filtered really should be unblocked. Some of my pet peeves I've run across while making stories are God(s), and names such as Grappler, Fighter, and Akuma.

    Look I know people might be annoyed to have someone else call their God a ***** but if I'm talking about other races or referring to a character as such what else do I call it?

    If it's not divine but a evil God, or a person calling themselves a God how to I portray it?

    I'm also in the dark about the name problem. Grapplers are intense hand to hand fighters who use duh grappling moves to cause their opponents to tap out or go unconscious.

    Fighters? There is along tradition of fighters reaching a high level of skill to be considered super powered. Without getting into specific examples we have Kung Fu Legends, Karate Legends, Shaolin Legends, Mythological Fighters, and Cultural Heroes such as Alexander the Great.

    Akuma - this one just puzzles the heck out of me. It's a japanese word for demon. If registered characters are using this name they can't have it trademarked because it's a public usage term. It'd be like trademarking Unicorns, Trolls, Demons, or God. Yes I know companies like Microsoft have pushed the envelop on trademarking but public domain words and names should not be blocked.

    Many of the super hero names in DC and Marvel are problematic because they use common words as names. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Thor, The Thing, Daredevil, Spiderman.

    I will accept examples like this because there is a history of them being marvel/dc/other comic characters. However to block general usage names/words is really unfair for our creations.
  6. No you don't get it. The rez power will now root you according to both sets of notes. That means that you can't do anything until the animation is finished (and that's a really long animation).

    The stun and invincibility of this power aren't a benefit, especially since the invulnerability starts when you hit the button, not when the power ends.
  7. um, I hate to chime in here but...

    The 9th level power for dark armor scrappers (the self rez) will now root you according to the power descriptions listed here and beforehand. This power just got significantly worse with no improvements.

    If I rez and I'm rooted (unable to flee as long as it's activating) it means I'm going to die again. Especially since it's going to be nearly impossible to activate the dark armor toggles in time.

    Dark armor keeps suffering with no love from the developers.

  9. The story. As I just posted elsewhere I think we need storylines for both the street level and the super-galaxy type protector. That and powers.

    We need more powers. Equipment you can buy (Melee Weapons/Firearms/Misc Devices), Temporary Devices (Electromagnetic Glove, Flame Staves, etc.), and Artifacts (Gorgon's Head - temporarily hold mobs, etc.)

    I'd love to have new scrapper powersets. Chains, Scythes, Variety of Swords, and cool non-lethal sets. Super Strength, Fire /Ice/Stone Melee (maybe even some electric/energy weapons).

    Even though it's not a selectable item ^-~ it's why I joined the game.

  10. Lighthouse, no offense but it would seem we don't have many of either. Some issues have existed since the beginning of time, some are things people have asked for repeatedly, and some things that are good ideas, to which Developers say they like but use comments like soon.

    There's a reason I personally get upset when I seen Soon coming from the lips of a developer. A few cases in point? Mission doors in dangerous parts of the map will be fixed soon. Or my favorite, the next powersets planned are for tankers/scrappers (thought to be Electric Melee/Armor). Yet they went to Brutes.

    Scrappers still have the least amount of primary/secondary combinations after all this time. Yet when new powersets come out they're for anyone else. I've asked for just moving some blasters/tanker/brute powers to scrappers, yet the response always seems to be; we're busy with other important issues and they 'balance' something like Blaster machine gun turret.

    There's other things as well, large scale things like Melee users are at a penality in PvP because they're required to stand ontop of everyone to hit. It is an problem that made some people not like PvP back when arenas came out, and still developers seem to think it's ok.

    I know this is beating a dead horse a bit but let's look at ED. Powers were reduced to being able to use only one enhancement. Could more be added? Sure. Defense/Resistance for defensive powers. Range to melee weapons. Stamina/Health be combined and a new level 20 power. Hasten could use damage resistance. Yet, they only wanted to take away. Not add, not improve glaring problems, not give new enhancements to suppliment the current loss.

    And that's my point. It's not that I don't believe developers are busy, but it seems like they don't want to meet demand, increase staff to meet our requests. They don't want to start offical polls to ask us what we want and think deserves priority. It seems like 'We'll change whatever takes the least amount of energy' (Scrappers only getting nerfs are a prime example).

    When I say Dark Armor was bad, as defense/resistance and they did testing to prove that it was worse then the rest, rather then bringing it up to the level of the others, they others were brought down to Dark Armor's effectiveness.

    I have been distrusting and snide when developers say something, because it really comes across as even if they 'care' it's NEVER enough to effect change.

    When the culture exists that things may happen 'next issue' and don't, that's not much of a culture. Especially when we don't get reasons for it, or discussion on it, where we get listened to.

    I know you're in charge of community relations, but community relations between us and the developers really suck sometimes.
    I know it's not your fault. I know you're new. I know that many people who were apart of things have 'left' and that you guys don't have as many resources as you'd like. I know you're on a schedule, and things have priorities. I know that things might get changed for reasons we're not aware of. I know that Broadsword/Dark Armor is a horrible combination that is never going to get graphic choices, auto powers, or a endurance reduction bonus.

    Of all these things I know and more, I know these days, that red name comments should always be examined for what we aren't told. I'm sorry that's the case.

  12. Technically it's not a giant monster...

    Since we're having this double xp weekend and we need pictures of all the monsters, how about making it a Giant Monster Invasion? Monsters spawn every ten minutes in the zone they're supposed to be in. If one is present a second one appears, and then a third, and a fourth, etc.

    It'd allow for everyone to get badges and give us some interesting photo opportunities. Nothing to worry about since the giant monster rewards are extremely low experience-wise. (even doubled)

    What amuses me is as much as Positron hates the word nerf it lured him here to post three times. Completely ignoring many of the hundreds of posts on these boards with real merit like Different Flying Style.

    Things are a lot different from when I started playing. When I started, you could solo, a lot, and not have to worry that much. Powers enabled you to be the kind of superhero you might imagine playing (even with the limited power choices). Now adays we're pushed towards teams being the goal.

    In the old days, when someone hit one of the level 9 powers, they were awesome to behold. Now we're about 15 levels lower on the power scale and Regen people cringe when anyone uses any four letter word with a N in it.
  15. Nerfs are fine, but often require other things to be changed accordingy to complete the balance. Let me give you all a few examples of what should have happened in the game due to some 'power alterations'.

    Scrappers are unable to six slot nearly anything. Scrappers should then have something else they could put into their powers. Like secondaries as an example; If we can only slot so much defense, we should be able to use other slots for resistance as well. Dark armor is a good example, lost most of it's psychic resistance for Obsidion Shard, without losing any of the endurance cost.

    Here's another. example; When characters recieved the speed power supression, enemies should have as well. As it is, Diabolique can phase (longer then 30 seconds), super speed, and attack without any supression what so ever.

    And a third; Since some archvillians (DeVore, Mother Mayhem, Nosferatu, Siege, Diabolique, and a few others) are now the capability of a whole team of people, matter of fact they were before we experienced ED. Yet their powers were never readjusted, weakened, nor were they made to be 'appropriate' for their AT types. So scrappers for example have less damage to slot, yet enemies are just as tough (if not moreso). Tanks who were supposed to absorb the damage got their defenses significantly reduced, making it more likely everyone will wipe.

    The list goes on and on. Enemies with resistances to "every" damage type except 1 uncommon/rare type. Enemies who surpass skill levels of enhancements (so if you've got TO's they hit like they've got DO's). Powers at points in the game when no one has defense against.

    We keep being the ginuea pigs, we're the ones nerfed, and asking for Npcs to be balanced accordingly is taboo. Positron, maybe people wouldn't throw around the word nerf, or use it as often if a lot of the heroes didn't feel like they were getting the short side of the stick.

    You fight the archvillians for Carnival of Shadows and tell me how fair you think the rewards are.
  16. 1.) Icon window for selecting which costume you want to change does not allow you to move it. Every time you drag it somewhere, it snaps back to where it was.

    2.) When logging into a costume sometimes icon changes your costumes to match other costumes, or something random. This causes you to have to pay for costume changes, even if you haven't changed anything. The reset button does not set it back to what it was.

    3.) There are two tribal options on gloves, that are both exactly the same thing.

    4.) The Vampire ears are clipping several face option pieces, Ninja Masks, Wings with Headband, and others. Please fix.

  17. I messaged you with this problem a few weeks ago, and you said you were going to look into it. I stated that phase shift doesn't seem to work against signature characters and turrets.

    Does this mean that you've stopped looking into it? Working as intended (which means don't use Phase Shift in RV), or that it's bugged. It has to be one of the two. If it's the former instead of the later, it means you guys changed phase shift without telling us...

  19. It may come as an easy answer...the developers are the ones grieving on the different servers. That's what they do for fun.

    We have one reported case where Statesman called down giant monsters on a group (and got a slap on the wrist for it).

    So they probably grief regularly (which is why they don't post quality that they used to...) and want to make it easier to cause mass suffering.

    Anyone else find it odd that a few times on Guardian when we had a raid planned for a week in advance, every week, that they picked that time to bring down Hamidon/server? I do...

    Then again, maybe I am paranoid....
    Maybe the developers are working hard on the "hero" side of things. Maybe they're not laughing at all of us when we fail and fail regularly. Maybe they're not on a beach on maui laughing as Positron messes with us...

    Of course, it's kinda hard to prove such things aren't true with today's technology. ^-~

    Yes, maybe they do really study game information and such changes are accidential (HAH!!!). Where are those who say the developers care about us after this blunder? Hmmm...I wonder....
  20. Why should this suprise you? Heroes for a long time have had to "play by rules" that villians haven't. There's a laundry list of things that have never been considered "balanced".

    The goal of this game has never been "Heroes can be heroes" where 1 hero can do something really epic. The only difference now is that "heroes" are being considered "cannon-fodder". Even pc villians aren't treated as badly as hero pcs (at least they have somewhat support from the rogue isles/villians).

    Many people are already being used to being thought of as meat-shields, rather then do something effective. This whole thing doesn't surprise me one bit. I'm surprised they didn't do it sooner.

    Just another example of their "love, compassion, and hard work" that they put into this product. I don't think the developers have it out for us, just someone in charge of "balance" is being really lazy.

The fact that the developers have, for other ATs, made the drop off of the toggle sounds suggests that they too are aware of other people who like this feature (Toggle sounds do not persist). That you do not, suggests to me that you want to have a hearing aid in your future. I do not. If the developers insist on not having the sound drop off, they are encouraging people to go around the EULA to mute the problem sounds themselves.

    Edit: I do realize that there is a volume bar, and I usually have it at 10%. Any lower and I can't hear tells, glowies, etc.

    The reason is simple; Developers don't play dark armor because if they did, they wouldn't be able to team with anyone. My sounds are muted, have been for more then seven months now. Yet when I team (once in a blue moon) I still get told to turn off toggles, especially when searching for glowies. So much for the fix to make dark armor sounds bearable.

    And yet from _Castle_; Since build up can be heard, you can hear it and dodge out of the way. No chance with no sound eh?

    I guess we really are dam*ed if you do and dam*ed uf you don't.
  22. What about the scrapper/tanker detoggling attacks? Spines does it a lot, Energy Melee does it a ton. Broadsword doesn't do it at all anymore. We need a complete list.
  23. Few questions have I. Others have probably asked, but until I have time to search all the way through;

    Do these defense scalings affect monsters as well players? If so, there are several things that need to be 'tweaked' to be more defeatable.

    Hamidon - Major defense versus everything, hard to imagine it's hide being even tougher.

    Tank type AVs (Infernal, Brawler, Siege, Shadowhunter, Diabolique, etc.)

    Many of the 'boss' type critters with already strong defenses like; Trolls, Frostfire, Pumicites, Vaz, Tsoo, Skyraiders, Malta, Devoured Earth, and Carnival of Souls.

    Pets (like the guns Malta Engineers drop), as well as cairns, and swarms.

    Simple solution is this, the higher the defense, the less health they require. High Health (hundreds of thousands) + Uncapped Defense = ugly problems.

    The toughest part is not in attacking, but maintaining the attack long enough to wittle them down. If their defense is even higher (and many scrappers damage is way down) team wipes could be far more numerous.

    Just want to be prepared in either way. Thanks in advance for your help.
  24. Some of us however, have such awful powerset sounds that we have to turn our sounds off, as such we're not able to hear a build up sound.

    You want us to be able to hear build up as a defense to AS? Change or remove dark armor sounds as well as mud pots, and several others.
