To me, it looks like a less **** version of 9Dragons with more fanservice. That's not saying much, but suffice it to say that "martial arts" games have been made before. It has never been a style that appealed to me.

I've heard combat in B&S vaguely described as kinda like Tera. Personally, I'll wait until I spend some time with the beta before I pass judgement on the game. I've come across too many Korean MMO's that look great but play poorly. And as far as I'm concerned, the play's the thing.

I looked at the B&S review that's linked to at Massively and watched a video or two, the breast physics is hilarious. It makes Dead or Alive: Beach Volleyball look tame. I have to admit they got sashaying down for female characters.

At the risk of sounding like I am interested in it, I think it's appropriate to say, Blade and Soul is probably intended to be a fighting game MMO, not an MMORPG.

Thus, all of the trope-ish things you guys are pointing out are precisely the selling points it wants.

That being said, it will probably be inferior in all the ways that matter to games like Vindictus and Tera. If, however, it ends up being a nice fighting game, that will, at the bare minimum, be a refreshing change of pace.

But right now, and at every point in the future, whenever anyone asks about Blade and Soul, my response will be "Well, it's no City of Heroes..."
