This is more than just great reading, it's really quite stunning to see just how in depth the background planning ran. Thank you to everyone for sharing this with us, and hopefully we'll get an opportunity to see this information put back to use in the near future. If not, then at least we have been illuminated to more of the truth (or at least as it stood at some point in the past).

Wow, I just read through the entire Rikti entry and I'm impressed. Assuming that most of that history is still true, the Rikti's alternate history as well as their society as a whole is extremely fascinating. I loved the explanation of just how Rikti society operates and the origin of the Lineages. That entry even explains a few oddities in the Rikti War Zone content, such as Hro'Dtohz being referred to as "Wargod" at one point and a generic Rikti soldier calling humans "birth bodies."

I think some stuff has been changed since this was written regarding the Rikti, mainly the titles of the leaders of the Lineage of War: Hro'Dtohz is referred to as the Lord of War rather than the God of War (I presume that the Wargod reference was actually just left over from a point when he WAS called a Wargod) and the Rikti general we rescue is just called a general rather than a "Demi God." I guess the terms would be confusing if we didn't know the full story behind them, so the Devs opted for secular terms.

There's so much story potential with the stuff that was written about the Rikti homeworld that we will never get to see since we'll never get to go to the Rikti homeworld either... The Body Purists vs. orthodox Rikti society is a very interesting conflict and I could see content we could end up choosing a side. Seeing the fallout of recent developments, such as the outing of Nemesis' role in the whole thing, would also be interesting and could be the basis of the war finally being called off. Somehow, I don't think Hro'Dtohz would appreciate that, though...

Finally, it's funny how a lot of Rikti Earth's problems can be traced back to those three idiots who wanted to be gods just because they were armed to the teeth with plasma weaponry.

Some amazing reads to be had! I wonder though, is there a way to get the up-to-date version of the files? I'd love to have a read through those regarding everything that's happened in the game later (ouroboros, incarnates, and what is Prometheus' agenda and employer? stuff like that) and how the storylines progressed and what is really going on behind the scenes, the stuff we never got to know about.

On a totally random note - I got a laugh out of the bit in the Dark Astoria writup about the explorers Sam and Theodore Raimi who disappeared but left their movie camera behind, Blair Witch style.

My wife is currently on a Xena: Warrior Princess marathon via Netflix. Sam Raimi is one of the producers and Ted Raimi is his brother who played Joxer on the series. :-)

This is an amazing post and should probably be stickied or something.

I was doing some playthroughs of City of Heroes. Now they will serve as memories of a better time ...

Because the stuff in this thread mostly relates to the launch game lore, it's more likely to leak out - the lore bible stuff for GR and beyond is likely to be kept under a much more seccure watch.
The info in this thread has also been used as part of the planned CoH tabletop game, so it will have been spread around to more people than the current stuff, which is probably only fully known by Crosscheck, War Witch, Positron, Protean, Dr. Aeon and Viridian.

Just to add to that, Sam Raimi directed The Evil Dead and Army of Darkness (and later Spider-Man, Drag me to Hell). His brother Ted has always been involved in his projects in some role. And the other two, usual suspects of that gang are Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert. But I think it's due to Evil Dead that they were used for DA. Just like Romero Heights is for George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, pretty much anything of the Dead).

All those bits of geek culture were part of why I fell in love with CoH in the first place.

The Rularuu back story was quite excellent! I liked the explanation of how a multiverse could exist without the whole continuum of all events existing and making inter-dimensional travel explode your head.

I've still so many more to read! Good times

Hi,

First : Great stories ! Thanks a lot !

I'm looking for the french version of the history of Paragon City and Rogue Isles (from this webpage http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/game_i...troduction.php )

There is some translations on internet, but I can't find the full content. Is there a save of french version of the official website elsewhere ?
