Once they got recommended to me by a variety of people, including someone whose major home forum for a few years was Something Awful, I concluded there must be SOMETHING to them.

Also have the SDCC 2012 Derpy also. Remember lurking at the Hasbro booth on the 2nd day for them to restock on her. Going by it back and forth, quite hilarious because the long line that was normally there was pretty much gone since they didn't have the popular ones instock, such as Derpy. Fortunately an hour or so later they restocked and I managed to actually get in line to buy her.

I got mine from BigBadToyStore.com. A pretty much awesome site. They've even got a thing where you can store your purchases/preorders into a Pile Of Loot (their term) and ship it when you want, rather than doing individual shipments with associated extra shipping cost.
yes More Ponies!
"And for us this is the end of all stories, and we can mostly say they lived happily ever after. But for them it was the beginning of the real story. All there life in this world and all there adventures in Narnia had only be the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of The Great Story which no one on earth has ever read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before" - C.S Lewis, The Last Battle.
Currently in the MLP panel line at Dragon Con. So many Pinky Pies.

I'm not usually one to keep on top of the latest internet trends. But over the last year or so, even I had noticed that there were an increasing number of cartoon ponies showing up everywhere. Apparently there was a new My Little Pony cartoon and lots of people were excited about it for some reason.
At first I didn't really give it much thought. I do like animation; I watched Cartoon Network almost constantly back when it was good (Power Puff Girls, Samurai Jack, Megas XLR those were the days). But a girl's show about cartoon ponies just didn't seem like something I'd care for. Then I started noticing that a lot of forumites, ones whose insights and opinions I really respect, seemed to be fans of the show. So when I saw it was on Netflix, I decided to watch a couple of episodes to see what the fuss was about. Of course I got hooked big time. I now check Equestria Daily as often as I check the CoH forums. And I'm reading fanfiction and following fan comics on DeviantArt. This show has grabbed me - much the way that City of Heroes did eight years ago. So with the end of City of Heroes looming, I just wanted to thank the CoH/MLP:FiM fans in this community for inspiring me to try something that seemed outside my comfort zone. Its appropriate somehow that my new obsession sprang out of my old obsession. And to anyone who's still wondering about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic give it a chance, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. |
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
On behalf of Mighty "T" (who is related to this Pony thread in a big way)... "This was sheer awesomeness."
The only problem with pony cosplayers is the potential, "Won't you have a seat right over there...".
