Ok so who here is a furry?
Back when the nascent Furry culture was just beginning to actually grow and establish itself, the "go-to" characters to have *those* types of fantasies were Minerva Mink from Animaniacs, Babs Bunny from Tiny Toons, and Gadget from Rescue Rangers. *
Before that, about all they had was I think Miz Ma'm'selle Hepzibah from Pogo. |
I identify very closely with cats, and my 'totem animal' (not my fursona, I just cannot accept that ridiculous term) alternates between a snow tiger and a domestic tabby cat depending on my mood.
I am not a 'think sexy thoughts' furry, I simply identify with a particular animal type. I do not dress up (other than one time for Halloween in high school), I do not read furry fan fic, I generally don't peruse furry fan art (unless it is linked to me), I don't do furry cons, and I generally live my life pretty vanilla. I'm OK with that. "[Agge] is furry inside" as one of my (non-furry) friends described me.

You created stories, you made myths. Even if no one outside of your circle hears them, those myths color your lives. Be proud, because you kindled that light that shines inside of you.
That's true for all of us on City of Heroes. I didn't play this game to get shinies. I was here to create legends, and I will carry those legends with me until my dying day.
Oh, yeah, and I'm totally a furry. My previous avatar was Krypto, some might recall.

Life is funny. Death is funnier. Mass slaughter can be hilarious.
I was here to flip out and kill ****. For meditation, of course.
Be well, people of CoH.
'Furry' is a label applied so judiciously it's starting to become basically useless. I like the idea of catgirls because I like stroking furry things and I like women, so smooshing the two together kinda makes sense in creating a life partner I can stroke and love, but won't s*** in my shoes if I forget to walk her.

I grew up as a big fan of TMNT and Sonic the Hedgehog. The first superheroes I ever created--all the way back in 6th grade--were teenage kids that got mutated into human/animal hybrids... Werewolf Boy, Blizard, Pole Cat (a cat boy who fought with a staff, not a skunk), Copperhead, Spider Kid and Fly Boy, etc.
I kinda grew out of that as I got older and online communities started sexualizing anthropomorphics. But obviously with my own past as I described above, I'd be remiss to look down on anyone for their fondness for such.
... Just as long as no one starts talking about "yiffing," anyway.
Furry characters I've created in CoH:
- Falcon Paunch, a (slightly-overweight) former boxer and also bird man (made largely to test out the release of the Animal Booster)
- The Maul Cop, a werewolf security guard
- Kitsume no Miko, a Japanese shrine maiden whose lineage had been cursed by a demon fox long in the past (her third costume had demon fox features)
- Year of the Monkey, a representation of the Chinese Monkey King of legend
Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges
Mission Architect arcs: Doctor Brainstorm's An Experiment Gone Awry, Arc ID 2093

I think I am. Not really sure. I definitely like non-human characters, especially dragons, but I've never really limited myself in any respect there. It's kind of like my taste in music, I guess. I don't really prefer any specific genre, but I like what I like.
And as to sex, porn, erotica, etc - I'm a guy. If it has an [butt], it's my god-given right to stare at it.

Characters
Feh! Silly human.

"I became Archvillain before Statesman nerfed himself!"
I'm as furry as the original Eastman & Laird "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (in otherwords, no, not really) though I had a few in the game (Chili Dog, Fishstix, PrimeRib, Flip the Bird, Moon Dog Alpha)
Yeah juuust the most basic definition of 'likes anthro critters' folks, not trying to turn this into a discussion of mincing definitions/stereotypes/horror stories :3
Pretty much all my in-game fur characters are just for fun.
Huh. Apparently I have a WikiFur page as well. I was not aware.
Until I see something that states to the contrary, going to assume VK is right .

Despite my name, I have never been nor will be a furry.
I should note that I mean the more sexualized meaning of furry.

Cheetara will always hold a special place in my heart.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
I did up a cat (Kzinti Tigress - who is a kick *** stalker) and a wolf-man (Grey Wolf Max).
Two out of 50+ toon?
Think that disqualifies me.
A fury? Why, yes! Yes, indeed! Claws, super strength, electric melee, whatever! The more enemies the moe rage! raaaaawr!
What, why? Furry? Oh yeah, that too.

And now you know!
* (There was also Amy the Squirrel from Eric Schwartz's cartoons he made for the Amiga computer back in the early 90's, but that's already a bit obscure. It's just that he managed to straddle two rabid fandoms at once with something like that.)
