BABs here. Thanks EG. CoH had a profound impact on my life and being a player and dev for a game that I had so much love for was a part of my life I will always cherish. There were times when my entire working and waking day revolved around working on, playing, or just thinking about this game. It's bittersweet to hear that things are coming to an end.
My thoughts go out to all the people at Paragon affected by this news as well as the hundreds of thousands of players that have come and gone and stayed with CoH over it's long history.
It's a sad, sad day.

I heartily concur with EG. You guys and gals have done a wonderful job on this game. Thank you for making this place one I could never stay away from.

Thanks for many, many fond memories and great friends. I met my fiancee through this game and that's something that will always make this game special to me.

Totally with you here. I may not have been a forum regular, but I was always there in the background. To hear of this news...I honestly don't believe I will come to terms with it for a good long time.
I want to post nice, long, poetic paragraphs, but there's really only one thing I need to say:

Yeah, given the special circumstances, I decided to stop being a dick and take EG off ignore like I should have a long time ago. And I agree with everything he's said. Despite all my criticisms, I still appreciate everything the various development teams have done to what's probably the best game I've ever played by far. I always thought we'd simply run out of steam and out of money some day, but I never thought it would be over something completely unrelated. Sucks for the players and it especially sucks for the developers, who I know could have carried this game into the ages.
Also, Tic Toc? That's who you were before you got hired on? Holy hell, I remember Tic Toc from way back on the forums! Lordy... How did I never know that?

My sympathies to all of the staff of Paragon Studios. Something about the wording of the announcement left me feeling that NCSoft's decision may have been just as much of a blindside to the employees as to the players.
I hope that NCSoft treats you right when it comes to issues like severance and that you all manage to bounce back from this unfortunate event. The development, delivery and stewardship of this game is something that you should be proud to have on your resumes and any company looking to develop new properties would be nuts if they aren't already sending invitations for interviews to Mountain View.
