So, long time player here, several 50s, lots of hard work and time well spent. But now, i need a change, so i decided, hey lets make a character i will only solo with.. so here i am, deciding on what be a great combo to solo with.

To help out, my playstyle is all melee, but no more Tankers is all all i ask, i have 6 of those, and trying to hold off a little bit and try and work other AT to 50.

My plan with this was just follow the contacts, and do missions, and only team for Taskforces and Trials when needed will be my only exception since well, cant solo a TF lol.

Im open to anything, please shoot away.

An Illusion/Rad controller is a great solo experience. Lots of power, lots of tricks, especially at the high end where you've got your whole tool box. It's very versatile and very safe.

If you can wait a bit maybe a Bio Armor Brute. Seems tailor made for soloing with all that downtime reduction. WP can do just as well if you're looking for something to go with now.

just about any brute build would work well for solo. *anything*/electric armor, *something/willpower, fire, or regen will work.

No question in mind as I've now done this (mostly soloed to 50) twice - both times with a DM/WP scrapper - Moonfox on Union and Niteshade on Virtue.

I think the biggest hurdle to soloing is maintaining interest/enjoyment. For me the DM/WP combo on a scrapper is fast and great fun.

If you're looking outside melee, I'd recommend Illusion/Time (which I've done with Dr Night on Virtue).

You know what you've got to do - just choose the combo that will maintain your interest!

Good luck!

if you've never taken a stalker to 50 solo is a good way.

Anything can solo to 50 just depends on what difficulty you want to play at.

Stone Melee/Willpower brute.

Fault at 8 to combine with Rise to the Challenge at 18 - it's practically all over for solo content at that point.

Weight training: Because you'll never hear someone lament "If only I were weaker, I could have saved them."

Dominator, the other melee AT.

Are VEATs an option?

Hello.

For a melee character I found a Dark/Fire Scrapper to be a path of AOE destruction. I even used Rise of the Phoenix as part of my attack chain for more area damage.

Although melee AT's tend to be very tough, I had good success and fun with a Fire/Storm Controller. Some enemies were harder since they could see through Mist. However, opening with an area stun and then moving in close to let Hot-feet burn them away was very satisfying. I used O2 Boost to keep my Imps healed up, and Hurricane in an emergency.

I spent a good amount of time in Hazard zones, sweeping away the enemy. Extremely fun. Freezing Rain, Hot Feet, and Lightning Storm all combined to roll through targets faster than the zone could replace them. Even my melee characters couldn't take down targets faster.

Not exactly melee, but you will be in close most of the time.

Any sort of AOE / Traps toon. Defense cap, Debuffs, AOEs.

What more can you want. I posted a half **** video of a petless DS / Traps MM soloing 4/8 incarnates. So lets take it back a bit.. I'm using 3 whip attacks and Traps on Incarnate mobs.. Not the fastest, not the best. But I can survive. So Imagine what a full powered type of Traps player can do if I able to do that semi with a petless Traps mastermind.

Defender would be better because of the better bonuses to Defense and Debuffs. Makes it easier to obtain positional defense cap, thus more slots available for attacks. Corruptors can be done and I have a few Trap Corruptors but you will need some sort of endurance recovery power from the PPP Ancillary pool. Only because Corruptors will require more slotting for defense cap which do not hold many endurance bonuses in the sets.

Lets not forget that defenders get a solo bonus to damage.

I once set out on a quest to develop the most survivable toon I could think of. I came up with a DM/Invul (pick your at). Soft-cap defenses, very high res, one very fast heal, capped HP, good damage, and unlimited endurance. God mode when you want it. Great slotting options too.

I really like DM/WP

Willpower is so hassle free. Dark Melee has a heal, a fear - nice extras to make up for the lack of clicks in WP.

Stalkers are a blast for solo leveling now, you hit like a truck as soon as level 6. Pick any; AS being so predominant and close to the same for any primary, it's all good.

DM/SR is good, little slow at the start but by the thirties you really start flying and late game is a breeze.

I second the /WP, my DB/WP was a blast all the way to 50 (solo) and has enough AOE damage and defense to do AE farming when I felt like it.

I would not recommend fire armor unless you want to AE farm..

Illusion/Rad or Illusion/Storm are great solo, again slow at the start but from the thirties you really pick up steam.

I also find my sonic/time corrupter easy to solo with. A bit slower than melee, but extremely capable and great against hard targets. I think a fire/time corrupter would be good solo.

In DA by far the fastest and easiest solo was my DM/SR, the DRR made all the difference when dealing with the pantheon. But I have to say Ill/Storm was probably the most fun when it came to bosses.
