In the UK the summer event lasted longer then our summer O.O i mean we had the extremely rare moment in life where our summer lasted a WHOLE week (7 days!!) before the rain came again lol

This.

Quick, frantic pacing, fun and a great reward. I've never played one event so much. LFG tool made this event easier to participate in.

CRAP... I need to get a group who's willing to start one of these just so I can film in the lobby for a while. This would be so cool as the start of CoVIDEOHELL.

Just do the event and don't exit. I've looked at posters etc for long after the rest of the group left.

But a film friendly group for the arena event might be desirable.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

I think a month is about the right amount of time. I hope they add more 'movies' for next summer. It was a fun distraction and one of the better events. They could even add more opponents in the gladiator event or have more options that randomly come up each time you run it.

I didn't think the casino heist was as good but ya...it was decent enough

yea casino was ok. maybe next summer it will be two new movie concepts

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Guilty as charged too. Although I have to say, I have no patience for farming normally and have been running this event for fun mainly. The fact it's got a great drop at the end is just a bonus.

I've really enjoyed this event. The 4 team dynamic really allows you to make an impact on events, far more so than other, far larger and inferior trials I could mention. Plus with the amount of AVs and EBs, it's been an absolute debuffer's paradise. I don't think my Defenders have ever had so much play.

Absolutely agreed. At least on Virtue (I tried a couple times on Champion and gave up) if I entered the queue I knew I would enter the event in no more than five minutes, and often immediately. With no sense of how many are in the queue for larger trials there is no way I am going to sit in it.

Four was a nice number for the task at hand, too. It's a size where I think just about any team can complete it, but different team mixes can give a different feel to the event (though it probably helped that I played it on about ten different characters). With the resistance of some of the AVs, some of the longer times were actually when there were two Dual Blades, or two Broadswords and a Claws. One of the faster times was with two Emps (interestingly all three times I was one of the duplicates). Heck, one of the best runs was on my Ice/Time troller when due to a bug we ran it with only three.

Suggestions:
Super Packs Done Right
Influence Sink: IO Level Mod/Recrafting
Random Merit Rolls: Scale cost by Toon Level

Totally agree. Liked the half-sized teams, liked the quick queue, enjoyed meeting lots of folks. Also, the nature of the event rewarded alting to run it again, so I cycled through a bunch of neglected characters, and found new life in some of them. Two of them have already been respecced and spruced up, and more are scheduled for that treatment.

I didn't do very well on the rewards -- I don't have my tally sheet with me at the moment, but I got something like 5 procs out of 64 attempts. But I still had more fun with this event than any other.

I've actually been wondering (and hoping) for the same thing. Perhaps get the Star Wars/Star Trek knock off and a buddy cop movie.... ( ' ;

I've had a great time with the Summer movies... No matter which character I ran it with or what the group looked like, it was good entertainment and those procs have been a Very Good Thing for my Peacebringers.

Our best time? A pre-formed group of four Masterminds (Demons/Thermal, Demons/Dark, Bots/Time and Ninja/Forcefield). They just tore everything in the place apart.

Our worst time? Finishing it duo with a Kin defender and a DB tank. (We started with four, but two DCed at the beginning of the second film. FCM and I decided to see if Rush and Palrah could finish it on their own. They did. But it took. freakin. forever. to kill Sylvia. o_0)

no fan of star wars/star trek but i like the idea of that. i'd go for those ideas for the next summer block event.

I don't necessarily need this specific event to keep going, but I want something that had the things I loved about this event. Specifically:

  • Very little wait time once queued. I liked the fact that it was four people, so you could just queue, maybe run a mission or two while you waited, and then go.
  • Open to lots of levels. The thing I hate about DFB, otherwise a great "pick-up" event, is that once you get past about level 10 you never get to use any of the shiny new powers you get.
  • Not too long. I don't really want to deal with the commitment required for a TF; trials are nice, quick, and brief.
  • Good rewards. I don't need to powerlevel, but the fact that I could usually log in a level 20 character, run one or two BBs, and pick up a level was a nice way of getting some characters that I play infrequently into their SOs.
So if the Devs could keep this in mind while designing non-Summer trials, I'd be happy even without endless summer.

Given last year's haunted mansion ran pretty similarly, I think they're onboard with designing around those design characteristics, which I too like. We'll see if Shark Week runs like that too.
