Still feel kind of apathetic about this movie. Between yet ANOTHER origin retelling (we got it, guys) and Zod yet again (after Superman 2 and Smallville season 9, this makes Zod #3, and I honestly just don't consider him to be that interesting a villain), I just can't make myself care about it.

Not that any of my commentary matters here since this thread will inevitably be nuked from orbit.

It still boils down that the general public is aware of Luthor and Zod and little else so movie studios, over cautious to the point of glaciation, falls back to the the "known" Superman villains. It's just like the Batman sticking with Catwoman, Joker, Riddler and Penguin.

While Zod may be a recurring villain, at least this means you get to see super brawling action versus just "saving the day" action.

Plus, another Kryptonian is a viable and credible threat to challenge Superman in a movie. That way the outcome is put into some doubt for the viewer, and that's a good thing.
