Remove Puking men sounds from Pocket D Please!

We have all probably heard them, you cant miss them, two NPC guys by the red side usually. A man is seen puking his guts out every few seconds and the sound bite is loud and unmistakable, quite nasty really.

It probably would not be so bad if we heard the sound maybe once an hour but the man pukes every few seconds!! (seconds) it gets old , its disgusting and if you are trying to roleplay it is a complete distraction.

So the first option is to turn your sound down, but is that what developers want us to do, lose the experience of the game sounds because we cant stand hearing men puke over and over?

the other option is for the puking men to be removed and i like that idea honestly.

So I petition that we just remove the puke men from the virtue server pocket D all together. It would help me enjoy the sound of the game again in pocket D. Besides, we see one puke , we get the picture, that's enough gross display for one day

As annoying as puking must sound (I dont play with sound on) I would hazard a guess that it is in fact one of the more natural things that goes on in PD on Virtue..

FYI: It is against forum rules to create a petition. "It is bumping in disguise."

Also, I don't understand why only Virtue server should benefit from such a change. Shouldn't you be advocating this change for all servers, not just yours? Seems a bit short-sighted and... well... selfish.

Don't you only hear the sound if you're near the fellow? I've hung about in the D plenty of times and don't hear him unless I'm in his corner. So, couldn't you just... not go near him?

Perhaps he hangs out in the dark corners, where the puking guys is (wait, did I just admit to being in the dark corners too??)..

Curious..is bumping only applying to your own posts? Because if it is counting other peoples..technically every thread that poses a question would be bumping..since you are after replies?

Sorry..I am not posting the idea on servers I play on..because I don't actually care. I respect (a little) that YOu care..but to me..just so pointless. Dont go near him? How hard is it? Or read the thread on muting sounds and DELETE the file for vomiting, if it really drives you that mad.

I kinda see your point about farting men..but since we HAVE in game powers, ie, used in 'gameplay' not standing about chatting, that make us puke..it seems fair to me that an NPC can be sick.

Take it to the other extreme. Puking offends you. Ok, the 'get some' emote TOTALLY offends me. It is just sooo suggestive and outrageous. One moment why I go start a petition to remove that, and then get upset when other people don't actually care.

(Also, since you played the card about puking men being removed by bouncers, since PD is such an accurate depiction of a real club, how about..the catgirls, the skanks, the tentacle people? ALL that stuff..go on, you can be the one to tell them they are no longer welcome.)

First, I won't post this for all the other threads for two reasons:

1. I don't care enough about this "issue" to actually want to rally for the change.

2. This idea shouldn't be targeted toward individual servers at all. It is a change that (if made) should be game-wide. As such, it should be posted in Suggestions & Ideas if anywhere.

Secondly, as to you bristling at the "selfish" comment? Well, you made a suggestion that other people might like too, but instead of advocating for all to get it, you phrased it to only benefit you and your gameplay. What would you call that?

I personally find it funny that he is constantly puking.. reminds me of my 21st birthday.

And FYI there are toilet flushing sounds... go to a tram and stand by the bathroom.... yep you guess it... people in there doing #1 and #2 and GASP FLUSHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A man puking is not the most offensive thing "heard" in Pocket D on Virtue....

What's next ?? Get rid of the flashing club lights because you want to RP an Epileptic toon and it breaks your immersion to constantly have to go into a seizure mid-RP?

Yeah, you can easily move away from the area to avoid hearing it.
It is gross and I can respect not liking it, but it is very easily avoided.
Honestly, I'd like it as a player character emote... Don't think you'd like that though, eh?

I am tempted to turn this into a petition to get /puke as an emote, like E-K said. Occupy...er...the forums!

I've spent a few nights during my life proving that bouncers won't kick you out of a nice club just for puking everywhere.

It's always amusing for me to see people get so bent out of shape over our natural bodily functions.

So leave those poor men alone and do what most patrons would do in a real world situation: move away from them. There's plenty of room around the rest of Pocket D
