Really Hard Way badge discussion
Carnival Core Superior will have some Psi damage behind it from the Dark Ring Mistress, Rikti Core T3 or either branch T4 have Chief Mentalists.

We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
At 5 PM, I should be available to join. I can't promise anything, however.
I also don't know if my character would quality or be of much use.
@Scitenik, Scitenik, Warworks T4, Rebirth T3 (+Regen), Melee T3.
Since I'm a Kin/WP Brute, my damage output isn't the greatest to begin with. Currently I have vigor slotted, but I have a T4 musculature I can slot as well. And I believe I have a T3 Assault Hybrid I can slot, though I'm not sure if it's T3 or T2. I'm working on getting a T4 interface but I need a VR and I haven't been running many trials lately - too many alts.
So, if you have others that are more useful/able to help more on the team, don't hesitate to take them over me, and like I said, I might not be able to make it. It's my main toon and my main badger, but she's not the best thing to take on trials unfortunately. Scitenik is also the only toon I have that even qualifies to run the Magisterium.
ETA: I know the trial fairly well, but I'm also prone to getting stressed out. I think I've messed up a few times on other trials. Nothing that jeopardized a badge run or anything though.
Might Cognitive Interface also be of value?

Interesting thread on one of the other servers. Apparently they're requiring (I'll downgrade that to encouraging) at least 2 Leadership powers in addition to preferring Psi-dealing lore pets. Seers are too slow, I think there are others, are there not? Apparently Tyrant has no Psi resist.
Anyway, with Assault and Tactics both infinitely stacking, having a bunch of league members with those active at all times is a major bonus. Also, they can be re-launched after a death pretty quickly, although with some solid practice, dying isn't really an issue on this trial. Just gotta move when you see 'Crackle'. Anyway, I'm going to attempt two pinnacle runs this week, Tuesday 7/3 and Thursday 7/5. I'll be respeccing Jane out of Siphon Power and Maneuvers and into Tactics and Assault and would encourage anyone who is serious about this badge to consider doing the same if it doesn't break your build. |
Will be there with my Stormy.
Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!
168760: A Death in the Gish. 3 missions, 1-14. Easy to solo.

Champion, Pinnacle, Virtue Heroes
I'd like to bring GL:
t3 IDF/t4 Longbow, t3 or t4 Melee radial Hybrid, t3 Barrier and I'm gonna respec into Assault/Tactics this evening
Though, most of my Greek toons have t3 core Cims. None have their Hybrids slotted, but almost all are +3.

I think we're close to getting this...I know I'm dropping Therma's Char and Fire Blast for Tactics/Assault, and I've gotten good at dodging the lightning (and it's much easier when others do too, there's only about a 3-5 second stoppage in DPS when there are clear paths back to Tyrant).
Team insps help a lot too, and I reeeeally hope we can get this done so I can quit wasting my Astrals on Ultimates...I have too many alts to run enough trials to get Astrals to spare.

Damn your avatar and damn you for having it.

Golden Girl, I'm looking at you!

Also, you're not allowed to get the badge tonight, as I've got my grandpa's birthday dinner tonight and I don't know if I'll be back in time to get Thermaflux logged in.
So, you know, just don't do it. Or, conversely, take FOREVER on the dry run, then kick somebody so I can jump in on the real thing. Either way is good with me.
Carl and Sons @Aurora Girl (Pinnacle)
how is this progressing?
We are making progress. Last night we went with mostly Cim pets, lots of team inspirations and only a few Ults.
Got Tyrant down to about 50ish health before we popped our first Ult, then waited for our next plateau to drop lores. Dropped lores per team to stagger them.
Got him down to about 33 before we had to hit the lights because we only had 3 minutes left.
Overall, a solid run and we got HW out of it. We are definitely onto something with the staggering of lores.
Next time, I think we are going to pop Ults immediately before we go into the crater, save lores for the plateau below 50%.

Your team makeup is probably incorrect. The badge is quite easy to get with the correct setup, and when we get the level shift from another Incarnate it will be even more easy.

Cims are smashing/lethal though 50% resist plus his other invul powers bringing it to 90% resist of the Cims damage means they don't contribute much. Try Seers on the CORE side.
I just...the "we HAVE to have X number of X powerset, and we CAN'T take more than X number of X powerset/AT" mindset leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Yes, I get that it's an incredibly difficult badge to get. Yes, I understand the seeming necessity of a very specific league makeup to accomplish it. Yes, I get that once the "barrier" of receiving the badge, others can "tag along," but it still strikes me as not CoH-esque.
Carl and Sons @Aurora Girl (Pinnacle)
While I do agree that certain ATs/powersets have an inherent advantage, in my opinion there's a lot more to this badge than bringing the "right" toons.

Just wanted to say congrats to Pinnacle for achieving The Really Hard Way badge! I was very happy to be a part of this run. The league worked extremely well together and made this badge look easy. Special thanks to CatAtomic for leading us to victory!

Stupid pancaking beta!

Was an amazing run! Huge props to Cat for holding weekly attempts to get Pinnacle their completion. Without her OCD and constant need for badges, this wouldn't have happened as soon as it did.
Gratz to Pinn on a badge well earned!!! I look forward to earning the next impossible badge with you all!

Thanks to EVERYONE on Pinnacle as well as Amygdala and Placta on Champion for their help. Clearly this badge is a server-wide effort with people leveling their alts and slotting incarnate powers to compliment each other. The key ingredient we were missing was -resist...for some reason, early on, I accepted at face value that Tyrant was immune to everything but -max-hp. Clearly he is not! A few rads, some sonics and down he went.
It was soooooo gratifying to see his health drop into the 20s and teens. He'd drop by 7 or 8, then regen by 5, but the overall trend was about a point per second down to the end. I had to keep glancing at the count of lights to make sure we hadn't killed one by accident (that happened - TWICE - early on in our runs).
Again - AWESOME JOB to everyone. I'll be running more Thursday attempts (at 6 pacific, 9 eastern) in the weeks to come so those who were not on their badge alts, or who 'skipped' this week can get their shiny!
This is badge #1394 for Jane and, once again, she's maxxed out until the next issue.
Tuesday nights are iTrial badge run nights, btw. Again, 9 eastern, 6 pacific. See you there!
Pinnacle rocks!
