As it stands currently, every player gets the same offering for Freebie Friday. The only "random" factor to it is that the marketing department apparently throws darts at a board to decide what we all get.  (That bit was sarcasm. Or hyperbole. Or both.) |
And that is the way I thought it was being done as well. The item is picked at random, but everyone gets same random item. But based on some of the posts much earlier in the thread, before the debate on the proper style of royalty headwear
, it appeared not everyone was getting the Princess hat.I could be wrong, or not properly reading the sarcasm, but, for example: (all from this weeks Freebie Thread)

I'm perfectly okay with a costume piece being a freebie giveaway, but hopefully we'll get a little gender parity and next week they'll give us a nice princely crown? I've been wanting one for quite some time that isn't that ridiculous little tin crown on top of that HORRIBLE helmet hair. Something a bit more elaborate and regal.
That or maybe they just gave this piece away as a freebie and next week we'll be surprised by the completely unannounced Prince/Princess costume sets!

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.
I think that the only way there could ever be clothing "equality" in a game would be if it had a strict historical setting, where women wouldn't be allowed to wear "male" clothing.
Of course, if a game was going to try and be that accurate, then it'd also have to enforce strict gender roles too, which would limit its appeal to female gamers quite a bit

If someone wants to make a drag queen hero, they should be able to do that.

Well, in this case it's not so much that I want males to have just as much exclusive stuff as females, more that I wish they'd give the males a matching option. By all means, make a male and female costume piece and give females access to both, hopefully give males access to any pieces that wouldn't be considered ridiculous, but at least give us guys something. It's back to the Carnival pack again. If one side gets something, the other should too. Yeah, the female models will likely always have more than the male/huge side of things, but at least let us have something too if the females get something.

There are a lot more options for facial hair then makeup for starters.

For example, men can have cigars as a free account. The only way a woman can have one is to buy the gunslinger pack.
