Build changes due to i23?

With the introduction of instant form changes, it makes sense to switch to triform builds on WSs right?

Correct me if im wrong but i seem to remember (admittedly some time ago) THB post a 'what i would do' build if we ever got instant form changes.

My Search-Fu fails me and i cannot seem to get a build with 32.5% to all while keeping triform with all the necessary slotting and a good ST chain in human.

Any ideas on how we can max out with these changes?

Well, I'm getting ready to leave my pc so I can't help much with the actual build. What I can do is confirm that it makes sense to switch. You'll now be able to double mire and use the Nova AoEs without wasting any duration and without delay. Also known as mega purple doom fluff of death. I might actually end up rerolling my WS. I have a bad habit of deleting characters I get bored with and he was a casualty because I like the tri-form concept and hated the delay when shifting. Stupid i23 making me want to do things

I don't think my build is going to change at all. It is, however, going to be even more fun.

Mire, Mire, Nova AoE, Other Nova AoE, ooh something died so I'll Unchain Essence, then two more Nova AoEs because they recharge fast enough, then Dwarf Mire again because that's recharged...

So. Pretty much nothing changes, except I don't have any delays in the above.

No all human - I posted my build recently in the kheldian showoff thread

I am fine with TF builds prior to the change. I am confident that I will be fine with them after the change.

I will be working in the new Kheld enhancements. And I do hope that all of you get toggle suppression.

Yeah you can. My Peacebringer does this, and it's just as doable with a Warshade build. PM me if you still need help.

Edit: It won't be *to all,* but you'll be able to do it for s/l. It's not practical to try and get greedy on a tri form build until toggle suppression happens, at which point it will get kind of silly since Dwarf will be your "quick Mire" form and human will be your tank form.

Yep I'm replacing a 6 slotted Obliteration set with a non-Superior version of the new Kheld set (unless the recharge bonus is less than 10% catalyzed, otherwise it's a conflict.)

This will serve the purpose of retaining the recharge and melee defense from Oblit, and it'll also let me pull a Stupefy piece from Gravitic Emanation since the new Kheld set gives an identical ranged defense bonus. In the end this means I save a slot to put elsewhere and retain my high global recharge and 32.5% defense to all positions.

I'm probably going to use it to get an Accuracy IO back into Eclipse, or a toxic damage proc back on the end of Shadow Blast... Haven't decided yet.

Also to answer the question, the form shift animations aren't worth sacrificing all the positional defense I have on my human Warshade. Now when toggle suppression happens I will be in respec mode for sure.

I don't have to change anything for my Peacebringer, as he has a Triform build. This change does have me debating a tri-form build for my Warshade, rather than a mostly human build with Dwarf as a backup for mez. Might just go with two builds.

Is there any way to elimininate the extra power tray from nova? Due to the sets of binds i've been using for the longest time, it only gets in the way and takes a little bit more of my screen.

My WS just switched to a human/dwarf build to get 40% ranged def. Fast dwarf switch will be very nice for double mire or when clarion just wont cut it for mez res. But the toggle issue is a huge pain.

My PB is a pure human only. PBs with all the human form buffs dont need the extra damage from nova (inner light) nor the mez, res, +hps from dwarf (inner light, essense boost). Unless the nova and dwarf get some serious buffs I just dont see either form worthwhile even with toggle suppression on a PB.

As far as I know there is no way. I posted about this being a problem in the misc. feedback thread, so I'm hoping maybe one will be added sooner or later.

Nova actually does noticeably more AOE than human considering how gimpy SF and PS currently are. With the new -KB proc the AOE from Solar Flare could very well make human the best option for AOE. As it is now, the main thing I use Dwarf for on my PB is the AOE KD so there's a good chance I'll be working it out of my build soon. Nova will probably be staying for the time being but there's also a chance I'll be back to playing a human only PB in the future.

Yep.

There is a Universal Damage IO coming with the Summer Event that can convert KB --> KD. It is only slottable in powers that take Damage Enhancements, and is a Unique... also it's 47+ IIRC.

Game changer

To quote hoosier lady from Napoleon Dynomite

"I waaaant that"

Ps to Mr AIB
You are my idol
I have done everything you did on my human only WS
But i had to cheat and use every frickin' temp pet and a few warburg nukes
But since i always keep them in stock on my toon at all times,( routinely re earn them soon after using them) i feel there are part of my build/AT
But i never claimed to be a purist
You sir, are pure WS kick A$$

But with my "cheats" i did take down a lusca tentacle "solo"
Question
Is a gun user cheating if he buy bullets for his gun?
( or plays several 30-60 min missions to earn more "bullets")
With my analogy AIB killed a 12 point buck by beating it with his rifle
Impressive
And reloads after taking down his target?

Laserblitz
"Kicking digital a$$ and taking "trademarked by NCsoft" names since 2007"
If you see a rainbow costume or named "Emcc" it is me

Thanks for the praise and congratulations upon the feats. Whether you beatdown the buck with bare hands or blast him with buckshot from your Benelli, at the end of the day you still get to bite into that backstrap. And boy oh boy it tastes...bueno...

AIB doesn't pay a subscription fee. He gets paid $15 a month to play the game.

Primal Earth won the war against Praetoria because AIB one-shotted Tyrant with Brawl.

Galaxy City was destroyed because AIB accidentally used Rest in the zone.

Giant Monsters show up gray to AIB.

Before any new content comes out, the Dev's ask AIB to test it. If it takes him more than 10 seconds to solo it, they know it will be challenging for full teams of other players.

The 'I Win' button was created after a GM watched AIB use Gabriel's Hammer.

Blue Steel uses a thread from AIB's blazer as a source to draw out his power.

AIB doesn't cry. He spawns new Wells of Furies from his eyes.

The Hamidon stays in Eden because AIB is known to visit Founders Falls on occasion.

Rularuu cannot leave the Shadow Shard because he lost a bet to AIB over an arm wrestling match.

Darrin Wades initial plan was to steal AIB's power, but he abandoned that plan as impossible.

People wear sunglasses at night in an effort to emulate AIB.

Purple enhancements are actually deposits left by AIBs pets.

AIB isn't short. He adjusts your perception so you can feel better about yourself.

I'll bet the "fact checkers" are going to be all over this...

Regardless, know that the campaign is going according to plan. All other contenders have withdrawn.

I look forward to serving all, especially those of the Kheldian community, in an expanded role in the near future.

Statesman may be gone but I live on.

It's a bit late for me to mention this (been off playing Diablo III since the 15th and haven't visited the forums), but ... Arbiter Hawk volunteered to me (meaning, he brought it up in our conversation, and I hadn't asked him a question that prompted this exact response) that coming in Issue 23 there would be a Proc that would convert KnockBACK into KnockDOWN when I was at the Player Summit. Not wanting to "steal his thunder" for making an announcement public, I told him later (by PM) that I wouldn't mention anything about this part of our conversation until The Powers What Is BLACK PEBBLE cleared the info for release. Since that has now been done, I can publicly confirm that not only is this going to be happening, but at the time of the Player Summit, Arbiter Hawk had already completed work on the Enhancements and checked them into a forthcoming build ... meaning that as of the Player Summit in April, "the cake was already baked" for this.

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

*chuckle*

  • Kheldian Dwarf and Nova transformations now occur instantly, down from 2.07 seconds.
  • Kheldian Dwarf and Nova transformations now have a 1 second recharge, up from 0 seconds.
Teases. "It's instant... NOPE! One second!"

.... not that I'm complaining.
