Soloing an AV with only SO's

It's been done by many people many times. Pretty much has to be a buff/debuff set. I think a bots/traps MM has the easiest time with it. A cold/sonic def or rad/sonic could also do it most likely.

Yes, AV soloing existed before IOs came out.
My first toon, ninja/dark mm did it quite easily, and so did my EM/Elec brute, although the brute was heavily HO'd.
Before they nerfed the animations in Energy Melee, I soloed some AV's with my EM/EA brute back in the day. Energy Melee at full fury and unlimited endurance was a scary thing back then.
My Bots/Traps has done it.

Did it with my Ninja/Time before I started to IO him.
Demon/Poison is able to do so. I beat the Neme.. Silos TF in Ouro with my Blood Demon back before Poison got the Buff(splash AoE). Tons of -Res. Only AV i had trouble with was states due to his AoEs.
Bots/Dark gives mega -Regen. Twilight Grasp gives a STACKING -50% for 20s, two casters YOu and Fluffy. -500% from T3 Bot.
It's possible with a 'lot' of things. Masterminds may have it 'mastered' by not using Inspirations. Might be wrong on that.

Rad/Sonic Fender.. I'm sure a Mastermind would work too but against something like Scrappy for instance you'd be home free on a Rad/Son without any micromanaging or other headaches involved with relying on NPC's to kill other NPC's for you...
Might as well watch the NPC fights between the factions by the Ferry in Sharkhead if you wanna solo stuff on a Mastermind! (*ba dumtsh*)
Sure, Dark/Shield could do it. Bring a stack of Envenomed Daggers. Oddly, Dark Melee has no -regen in it.
There are builds that can do it even better. As other posts have hinted, -regen is key.

Of course, the reason is that PA pull all the AV damage, and then the Decoy would pull the damage when PA were recharging. I would stay at range to attack, and hopefully use the landscape to duck when PA were recharging. This was also in the days when Phantasm was a little smarter than he is now . . . he stayed out of melee. Phanty would cast his decoy, then shoot from range. He was really good at re-casting his decoy on a regular basis.

I killed a few AV's on my SD/DM tank on SOs, but I'm sure nowhere near as quickly as a toon with debuffs. And I used soul drain fodder. On generic IO's I dropped a pylon with it (no istuff, but post-brusing). Just a little experiment to see what I could do with it for minimal investment.
My BS/Regen Scrapper soloed multiple AVs before Issue 9 (Inventions). She did have HOs though. I can't remember if I did any without those. If I did, it was probably when IH was a toggle so that wouldn't count.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
I'm curious if this is possible? If anyone has ever done it? The only build I could see doing it is a dark/shield......maybe.
