It is true? They said at coffe talk that David Nakayama is no longer working on CoX?
All of a sudden, I'm getting flashbacks to the "Surviving 15" of pre-NCNC days. It also makes me feel old.

It's True he isn't working on Coh any more right now, He still works at Paragon Studio on a top Secret Project of Some type.

Plus, I'm still here, and plan to be here for the foreseeable future. It is my goal to lead the team that builds strong Communities for all of the games Paragon produces, including City of Heroes.

And as for you--it would be nice if we had an invested Community Manager that stuck around.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

I don't know. I've been here so long I've seen most of the people that work on the game come, go, be replaced and have the replacements leave. Hell, even the community team went through a lot of people I remember Aura, though not that well, I remember when Cuppa was still here before NC Soft pulled her off to Tabula Rasa in time for it to tank, I remember Lighthouse and how he banned Golden Girl, I remember "SuperMod" and so on.

That said, I'm not sure David's been with us for very long. Maybe he was and we simply never heard anything about him since BABs had such tremendous presence in the community, but it seems like from when he started posting to when he seems to have gone to work on something else, it wasn't really very long. It felt like the guy was finally getting his bearings around the community's sensibilities and then he just dropped off the face of the Earth.

Well, he knows what we're like now, so that should help him shape the new MMO to satisfy as many of us as possible

If memory serves, way back when at HeroCon 2008, I'd swear I remember Posi introducing David Nakayama as the new art guy at NCsoftNorCal/Paragon/whatever the hell they were calling themselves at the time.

The reason it sticks out in my mind was coz it was at the same banquet that some poor kid's mom got the whole room to sing "Happy Birthday" to him, they did the "stand up if you have a 50" contest, and Lighthouse embarrassed the hell out of me by making me come up and take a bow for my videos.

I am chagrined to see DN be sent to An Undisclosed Location, but we do loves the Chapeau'd Kitteh.
"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"
"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."
I knew he'd been here for awhile because he worked on Going Rogue before it was released and that was almost two years ago now. Didn't know he'd been working with them since '08, though.

There should never be a concern that we've got the "B" team working on one project over another. We're not a gigantic colossal studio with a seemingly endless supply of development staff. Each and every person hired here at Paragon is the "A" team. We're small enough of a studio that we can't afford to hire any less than the best.

Sounds like the American version of the French star ship captain Jean-Luc Picard.

Also, I'm still here. Been reading the forums steadily, though not posting too much because there's a lot of work to do on the new thing.
You can still be a fan - and you'll also get to see more of his work once this top secret project is revealed

And I'm not really gone from COH either. There's still quite a bit of COH stuff coming from me (because concept always works months ahead of time), and it's quite possibly the best stuff I've produced for the game (though I'll let you guys be the judge of that). Some of it's been shown, like Penny Yin's new outfit and the big bad in i23, but there are some yet-to-be-announced surprises as well that I had a hand in. And very soon I'll be posting the actual concept art for all this stuff, so stay tuned if you're interested.
Also, I'll be at the Player Summit, to help out with the latest Costume Design workshop--hope to see you there!!
So yeah, working on something new that I can't wait to tell you about, but not completely gone yet either.

Granted, they may have seen through my carefully-camouflaged ploy:
"...Your allusion to a "next generation MMO" in this job posting has intrigued me, but some reservations remain. I believe that great success arises from a passionate belief in one's work, and I want to bring that level of passion to this project. Unfortunately, I don't currently have enough information to determine whether this endeavor would spark such passion. If you could forward along all design documents relevant to the aforementioned project..."
