Double Aura

Not sure if this is do-able with the tech we have/knowledge paragon has.
But i was wondering in time if we could have double aura's.

Ok not at the same time, but say ... When we're not using primary or secondary powers we could have one power - say lightning aura. then when we use a Primary or secondary power the lightning aura fades and another aura like bio plasma turns on?

I don't think using two aura's could look nice unless it's limited to one or two, But as we have normal aura and combat aura, maybe in time we could combine them.

what you folks think? ofc it's just an idea so it can be adjusted if needed

I'd love to be able to have two aura effects. Even just being able to have a combat aura and a non-combat aura would be nice, though I'd prefer them to be able to be on at the same time.

Having two auras and/or "customizable" auras would be nice.
But like many ideas I'm guessing it would be relatively hard to do under the current system.

Imagine 50 MM's in a zone, with all their pets out, and every character with TWO auras going on at the same time.

I noticed in the first SSA arc, last mish villainside, when you gain synapse's aura it runs w/the aura you may already have. at least it did for me. So it may not be all that difficult to get done

Wouldn't be much different from any RWZ or Hami raid already. Costume auras don't do too much compared to the outrageous light show of power effects we already have.

Anyways, I would just love to have the Path Auras be separate. Kind of gets annoying having to have one costume dedicated to the Fiery Path Aura for flying/running around, and the other costume dedicated to the Bioplasma aura for combat.

I don't believe that at all. We have so many seperate costume pieces that are "animated" these days that I no longer believe the excuses the devs gave us in the past.

Like when they removed our ability to have female characters with both wings and bolero.

This

I love me some of those path auras, but I always find myself thinking "darn, I wish I could stack some other Aura with this" lol

I was going to ask them this at the player summit on the 28th. Mainly path auras and Halos being separate from the reg auras.

or as someone already said.

1 Combat only aura and 1 aura for all the time.

Personally, I'd like to see auras broken down into pieces so I don't have tab through lists of what the designers though I might want and eventually not finding it. So there's a Glowing Body and Glowing Eyes and Glowing Fists, but what if I wanted Glowing Fists AND Glowing Eyes? Can't, because this was never added. I can have Eyes and Fists Alpha and Omega, but not Glow, because of the reason.

Now, I'm sure we can be more ambitious and I don't believe the "anchor points" argument is valid any more. What IS valid is the performance issue. The problem was always about stacking particle emitters, which is what auras are. However, if we can break an aura down to its component parts and insist that only one aura exist for hands, only one for feet, one for body, one for eyes and so forth, this should solve the performance issue. We already have aura options that put auras in all those places. Does it really matter if it's all the same aura theme? I don't see why it would be any more processor-heavy.

Basically what I'm saying is break auras by body-part and let us pick one for each body part like we pick gloves, boots, hats and so forth. One per piece, or possibly none. Whether that piece has an aura which is constant or "combat" is the player's choice, but you can't have an active and a combat aura on the same piece. It's one or the other.

That ought to handle the performance issue. It might make things just slightly heavier once you toss Path auras in with the regular ones, but it can't b that bad.

While it's an interesting idea and on the surface it might seem cool, I have to think this is not such a good idea. I would really like to be able to better subdue other players auras and FX. At times the screen pollution can get pretty extreme.

Just say "NO" to more screen pollution!

Forgive me for not having much sympathy for your campaign to rob me of the costume I chose to create, but this isn't about screen pollution. People can already use pretty much all the aura pieces I discussed above, they're just all from the same aura set. What I'm suggesting is that we be able to pick pieces individually and choose which are always on and which turn on in combat only. If we're given this choice, we might actually spare your delicate sensibilities a tad more, too. If I can have an eye aura going constantly and a body aura that only turns on in combat, I usually will. Since I can't, my only option is to pick an eye aura and a body aura that both display constantly.

I didn't read what he posted as trying to rob other players ability to create the kind of costumes they want, but as the ability to control what he sees on his computer. What difference does it make to you if someone uses a filter to screen what shows up on his monitor? It doesn't affect you costume or gameplay.

Thank you Forbin, you said it better than I did. I was not trying to deny double auras, just trying to have a way to subdue the brighter ones on my own monitor.

Don't we already have that filtering option, in the form of turning down the maximum number of particles?

Doesn't that degrade overall image quality? I love ultra mode graphics and the details it provides, I would rather not loose any of that, just tone down all the wild FX. It's really only a handful of players that use over the top bright clashing colors, but put two or three of them on a team or league and it can get rough. I am sure I cannot be the only one with this issue!
