Soda or Pop; Chuck or Chunk?
'Soda', of the two, though around here it'd be more likely to be called a 'coke' (regardless of the actual brand of beverage).

Chunked? I've never heard of that. I will chuck something, and I call Coke pop, although I've lived in enough places and had enough variety of influence to change that up every so often depending. I'm from the Midwest.

My wife says pop. It drives me nuts... ah, the things we do for love.

Soft Drink. Around here soda or coke would be acceptable generic terms, but calling it pop is likely to get you laughed at.
Er....between the two options I'd go with chunked.
North Carolina
Edit: Interestingly, according to the map I'm in an "Other" county surrounded mostly by "Coke" counties with a couple "Soda" counties.

@Inquisitor
Soda and chucked. I'm in the NE.
I've never heard of "chunked" and I can't fathom how it came to be especially when everybody knows the tongue twister about woodchucks chucking wood.
On a tangent:
I grew up hearing "man" as an dialog exclamation on TV, movies, books, etc. Like "Hey, man!", "Man, that was great!", "Man, did you see that?" Nowadays, I'm hearing the kids saying "son" instead and they sound so stupid. "Son" just doesn't have the impact as "man". And more importantly, I don't know how people not find that it sounds very demeaning while they're being referred to in such a way.

Back in my university days this subject came up with some of my school friends who weren't from the same region as myself. They could not figure out what my hs buddies and I were talking about when we referred to Vico(chocolate milk) and bunnyhugs(hooded sweat shirts).

Around here, it seems to be "dude", "man" and "bro" in descending order of frequency ("bro" is not very common at all). I use "dude" the most, and only say "bro" to bother my brother .
So today I was stuck at the DMV for 2.5 hours and had nothing better to do than to listen to people around me talk very loudly on their cell phones.
Which brought to my attention that people say some weird things.
For a carbonated drink, do you call it a soda or a pop?
To express the action of throwing something away, do you say you "chucked" something or "chunked" something?
Also... what region of the US/world are you from?
I say:
Soda
Chucked
