So it's not like these things are entirely new concepts.
Everyone has their style of choice, nobody is going to hate on you for using the same few buttons if that is your thing, get down with your bad self. Old trials had gimmicks too, er um yes they did and so what never said they didn't.

I put the part in bold that if one thinks about it long enough they might realize that could be the underlying issue being addressed or not YMMV.

You should play a character that *doesn't* lend itself to sitting there clicking the same few buttons over and over, then. I play an illusion/empathy controller, and no matter how long the fight, I am always doing different things -- refreshing buffs, dropping pets, healing, and attacking. The "sitting there clicking the same few buttons" thing is why I can't stand playing melee/attack only characters. When your character has a variety of tools at its disposal, you never find yourself in a situation where all you can do is sit there and spam the same power over and over.

Anything that doesn't involve a straight up fight appears to be a gimmick to some people

Give an example of a boss fight that doesn't use a "gimmick", but isn't just a straight up battle to beat their regen rate

Let's analyze the Incarnate Trials for a second:

BAF: Tank-n-spank where you have to defeat them at the same time
Lambda: Tank-n-spank where you need an occasional grenade
Keyes: Tank-n-spank with green stuff
Underground: Tank-n-spank where you need to stand behind him
TPN: Tank-n-spank where you need to sometimes break line of sight
MoM: Honestly, I still haven't run this
DD: Tank-n-spank with floaty green things

Take the gimmicks out of all of those and what are you left with?

Randomly turning off incarnate powers doesn't bother me. I mean, people can run these things anyway without them, so whats different? Once upon a time we ran BAF/Lam without levelshifts... and I know people who have run more difficult trials with no shifts or just 1.

Different gimmicks bother different people. The gimmick I hate the most is not the turning off of the powers despite how incredibly unoriginal that is, its rooting patches. Because of my setup those things seem to cause an incredible amount of lag for me and I never have the issue with any of the other gimmicks in the trials so I hate it.

I am more than sure from talking to in game friends and seeing posts here that people have different things that bother them more than others. Trial gimmicks are not special in this area.

Here's the view looking towards Imperial City and Neutropolis after Tyrant's Tantrum of Tartarus - the buildings on the other side of the water are quite clearly undamaged:

It's not available yet - none of the new costume parts are in the beta yet.
