Seeing how well it's ST is, I'm not so sure, but I do like your idea on Ripper and the 100% chance over the 80% chance for tick damage.

Patron powers don't build assassin's focus. That's the problem I was addressing, so Patron Powers don't fix my issue.

Thanks-i like those two tweaks as well, which would give Spines/ something to use reliably out of hide/placate on hard targets, and boost sustained dps in situations where it'd matter (AVs, trials, lethal-resistant foes.

I'm still interested in animation smoothing so the set feels a bit less...chunky. In leveling my ice/thorn dom, once I built for high recharge and the ice epic, my /thorns use smoothed out to mostly lunge, ripper, and fling thorns. I tend to sigh when I'm locked into the impale animation, lol.

Oh, I am thinking of putting both ATO and cash Purple proc in Assassin Strike. That way you get re-hide and a guaranteed purple proc damage which is pretty high. Holy !@#$

So even in a 6s recharge attack like Ablating, the SBE is a lot better? Mmmmm, I guess it is a bit "pay to win". lol But it's not to the degree of overpowering (or is it?). And Ablating is good because it has shorter act. time.


What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

That is a good point. I forgot about patron not giving Focus. My Spine has burst. I mostly only use it for set mule. I don't use it unless it's a big group of enemies around me.

At 200+ DPS, I'm not so sure it's sustained DPS needs help. But part of sustained DPS is figuring out how to sustain it.

The reasons I like the two ideas is, this allows ripper to be a used from hide and getting at least one crit. I also just never cared for the chance of not getting any ticks of damage off.

Also, it just gives it a nice edge with the toxic damage.

The bane mace and widow claw attacks have 100% chance of toxic dot ticks, it'd be nice to be able to count on them for spines.

We'll see how RL meshes with the idea, but i'd love to incarnate the spine/ice/dark stalker I have in mind, and see how the in-game application compares to the theory. I'll post results if I have the free time to get there.
