Looking for name holder: Crimson Alpha

As the title suggests, I am looking for whomever holds the name "Crimson Alpha" on Virtue; this has been the name of my main villain for years on Freedom and I am considering a server move, but don't want to change his name.

If someone has the name, or has contact information for the person who does, I would very much like to talk to you about what it is worth to you.

@Draeth Darkstar
Virtue [Heroes, Roleplay], Freedom [Villains], Exalted [All Sides, Roleplay]
Code:
I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30))
Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.

Thank you - when I attempted that it didn't return anything at all, I must've done it wrong.

Does anyone then know if @Spacey is active?

The good news is there's a forum member with the handle Spacey and they have 448 posts. The bad news is...

This might be a good weekend for them to return though. I'd also send the person a PM too. Can't hurt.

i thought there was a function that restored names to the general public if a toon didn't log in in x amount of days? I remember seeing the warning about it some time ago.

If there was such a system, we wouldn't be having all those pesky globalless names that are essentially lost.

They've done two mass name purges in the past. Aside from that, I don't think they will plan on doing another, especially since Freedom is huge on getting old players back into game.

If worse comes to worse, use "Crimson AIpha". That "I" will appear in-game like a lowercase "L" =)

Oh, and Crimson demands you play this arc-> Twisted Knives (MA Arc #397769)

While that works, and is fairly common, it makes sending you a tell frustrating, and people give up after a while. If the character absolutely cannot change their name, then trying to contact the name holder is really the only option. A while back, I made a character I had to name "Heat.Sink" since "HeatSink" was already taken (she was a Storm/Ice def and the name was *perfect* for her concept). I sent all kinds of messages to this person and never heard back, so it doesn't always work. But I know it would have been very worth it to me to get the name from the current holder if I could have. Looking back on it now, with the trouble I've had from unobservant people about the "." in her name, I prolly should have gone with "HeatSync" or "HeatSynq" or something like that. Using something like a capital I in lieu of a lowercase L is just kinda asking for trouble, especially if you plan to team a lot. I guarantee he'll probably be passed over for some teams because of people not grokking that he used an I instead of an L.

As someone who does this quite a bit -- when making alts of my own characters -- it's probably less of a big deal these days. For one thing, a lot of people are now using the "click on name in chat" feature to invite people so the spelling doesn't matter, as long as you're not "hidden from all invites."

In the old days when a lot of invites were by "/invite namegoeshere", though, I got pretty proficient at adding "the name's actually A-i-p-h-a" to my tells to the team leaders, and my friends would even get into the act sometimes.

[Tell] @friend: ((Which character are you on? The one with an 'i' or an 'L'?))
[Tell] -->@friend: ((Heh - 'i'))
[Team]: ((Okay -- try 'S-t-e-e-i-whatever'))

Of course, I always roll my eyes when I run into someone who's "i'ed" one of my own character's names, and I've done everything from sending good-natured tells ("The REAL ________ is highly amused at the imitation = flattery" "Heh - do you know them?" "Know them? I AM them! Except I'm not actually plural....") to hovering next to them at Wentworth's until they notice. I'm usually 2% annoyed, 88% pleased that someone else liked the name enough to do that, and 10% thinking "they really should consider another name purge" BUT, as Xzero45 mentioned, with the dev's hopes of Freedom bringing back old players, they'll almost surely not do another purge for a looong time, if ever.

easier than changing i to L

A Crimson Avenger ( add a A or An )
Crimson Avenger A ( A for model number)

Original Crimson Avenger ( add original)

Crimson Avenger 1 / I ( add a number or roman numeral)

or send a tell to Cs and ask them....

lots of work arounds... ask around im sure ppl have more....
