An ordinary player's impressions regarding S.I.C.

S.I.C. = Solo Incarnate Content

Impressions are formed by results. And the results for my characters exceed expectations. For the past two days, I've focused on a DM/WP/Ice Brute which started the zone with:
Alpha (T1 slotted) and
Judgement (T1 slotted) and
Interface (empty) unlocked.
Lore and Destiny each had about 10% progress.
3 Astral merits, 20 threads and 6 (useless) shards were banked.

After 7 hours with that character in the zone, running Heather (3x) and Mu'V (2x) arcs; approx. 15 Repeatable arcs; and about 2 hours or so street hunting, that character has made the following progress:

Lore and Destiny completely unlocked.
20 threads, 1 Rare component and 1 Emp merit banked < and all these came today since I had used everything else yesterday to unlock the two slots and began the day with nothing banked.

I would say that is acceptable progress for a 100% solo player who is not anywhere close to being a Min/Maxer.

Oh and the kicker is, I was playing everything with the 4x settings at:

-1/x0, no bosses

That right, in the new DA, size doesn't matter. This is a very good thing for the casual, average, normal, non-Min/Max player. No mob spawns at less than level 50 and higher level mobs have the same chance to drop threads as lower level ones. Increasing mob sizes in all these very short arcs only slightly improves one's chances of getting Thread drops. There is simply no practical reason to run at ++++/xxxxxxx unless you just want to brag about being able to do it.

The only thing that is really important is getting to the reward tables at the end of arcs (or missions) as quickly as possible and the fastest way to do that is with minimal settings. With minimal settings, the Heather arc can be run 4x in a couple of hours to obtain all the available rewards for that day.

Rinse and repeat 20 hours later, and you have a good daily plan for acceptable Solo Incarnate progress that does NOT feel like a stressful grind.

This gives me a lot of hope for Solo Incarnate Content.

Thanks for the feedback and what not.

Also, don't forget that it's highly likely that this isn't the one and only Incarnate zone we're going to get, so right now, it's more like the I20 situation where we just had 2 Trials to choose from - now we're up to 7, and with the Battalion getting closer, I think it's a pretty good bet that we're going to get some more non-Trial Incarnate content.
A similar sized zone to DA would instantly double the amount of soloable Incarnate content, for example.

I guess I could actually try and contribute to the thread, huh?

I've only run 2-3 of the missions from the first contact so far. Personally I'm not against iTrials, but at the same time I have not run any iTrials since January or maybe even December, except for a successful Master of Lambda in the minimum three runs, strangely enough. I haven't run any of the new trials... just because I'm usually busy doing other things with my time. I'll run them eventually.

So with that said, my Street Justice / Shield scrapper Megamisama has T4 Alpha and has been on maybe a BAF or Lambda or two, and that's it. This is a very heavily IO'd character that I like to play a lot, perfect for running solo DA content since I haven't really gotten around to other incarnate content with her.

I haven't played enough to have a solid opinion of the content so far, but I like what I read in the OP. Of course, I ran last night's mission set to +1/8, so I'm apparently doing it wrong. But I had fun.

Even if I have trouble calling a woman with guns or a giant freakin' 10' long sword a "knife" of vengeance.

Crocodile Dundee: Now that's a knife.

Does the solo content have a chance to drop enhancement catalysts?

Yup I got one last night running Praetor Duncan's arc, just killing regular knives of vengeance.

And ya, I really don't see this being the last Incarnate zone. I think this might be the last 'beginner' incarnate zone though, I'm kind of expecting the next Incarnate zone will be the next progression, like level 54 min to 56 or 57? or you know, 54 through 54+3, etc. However they progress it. But something for 'high end' incarnates, maybe to work on the next slots, etc.

Bear this in mind...

The first time through, there are no time-gates blocking anything (just like the first time for each SSA).

Repeat trips through (via Ouro) are time gated daily (20-hours).

So, after your first pass through all the arcs, things will slow down a lot due to the blockades (time-gates).

Actually, the patch notes do say that higher level and higher ranked mobs have a higher drop rate for Threads. And of course, they give out more iXP.

However, the end-of-arc reward is much bigger than what you can get with drops, so, it makes sense to keep a low difficulty and rush to the end of the arc for the big pay-out.

OTOH, that big pay-out reward table has a 20 hour cool down (other than the first time you do that arc). After you run through an arc as fast as possible, then you might want to crank up the difficulty to hit your maximum safe kill rate.

And FYI, my opinion is that The Dream Doctor's arc would make the best farm: Lots of maps with lots of big spawns and lots of helpers if you want/need them. Plus, a mid-arc reward table.

Cool. Have not tried Dream Doctor arc.

Re: An ordinary player's impressions regarding S.I.C.
so the takeaway is brute's need to be nerfed?

The "takeaway" is that non-raiding players can finally say, "I made iProgress at a level me and my characters can handle". Incarnate progress has finally matriculated down to the rest of us.

The other "takeaway" is that the zone can be fun for any level 50 player. It was enjoyable running my 50+1 Mastermind at -1/x3 as well as a 50 SO only Scrapper from 2004 at minimum settings.

I also wanted to offer encouragement to other solo players that may have had doubts about the zone's viability for progress and potential for fun regardless of build or AT.

Just go and have some fun with it!
