I should clarify my prior remarks based upon the above thread. I misapprehended the term "cross-server" being used here, daaaaah.
Bottom line: When the Queue was introduced, it would combine players from every zone on the server who were in the Queue to make the teams.
Is the current problem that not that many individuals are queuing or is it that the Queue no longer combine folks from all zones on the server?
It sounds like not enough individuals are queuing, but it is certainly possible the Queue is borked.
"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"
"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

The LFG tool behavior that annoys me is when people get the minimum they need, and then sit there trying to fill the group forever instead of just getting the hell on with it. I understand wanting to get a big team, but once you have enough people, just put out a last call to see if anybody else wants in, then stick it in the open queue.
More than once I've seen people spend so much time trying to fill up the team that they could've just run the DFB with what they had.

If you don't like doing DfB's with players that want full teams you can always form your own DfB team. Of course expect to be annoyed when people quit on you to join DfB's that run with full teams because I've seen more than a few people quit DfB teams where the TL was impatient and rushed to start a DfB with less than the minimum to spawn the AV's.
There's a difference between having the minimum needed to start a DfB and having enough members to spawn the leaders Damned, Dr. Meinst, and the Prophet as AV's. Not sure if the team size requirement has changed or not recently but players want to get the most xp out of each run.
I think this is really two issues that play off each other.
1) People don't communicate in-game like they do here. Lots and lots of other players I see simply refuse to interact at all. The lower levels where you get people looking for DiB and DFB are full of people like this. It varies from people who seem to read and pay attention but don't want to type much, to people who have probably closed their chat box all together. 2) Leeching. I have long since lost count of how many times I kicked someone for going AFK for an entire map+AV of DFB, only to INSTANTLY get a tell asking why they were kicked. Less common but equally detrimental to keeping a good group going are the people who play like suicidal maniacs and then will lay there dead for five minutes asking for wakies when we've moved to the next section or hoping to level up when we finish the entire map and kill the boss. Some people will follow the group or auto-follow someone and not actually fire any powers. I've even had people decline team teleport and say they were 'lost' in DFB lol. DFB/DiB are not one-shot trials you spend a lot of time on. They are good for doing multiple times and keeping a group together more like a mission team, and they are perfect for people without much time to play who want one GOOD run where they can get the badges, see what it's about, and log off. I can't count on random players in a newly formed team to participate in a team vote. Call me names, call me an elitist who thinks he's 'better', assume I kick people who don't need to be kicked and call me mean, fine. This is the internet I can take a jab and some exaggeration put on me but the point stands:If I want to run a good group to repeat the trial and go smoothly for random people who join for one run, I have to boot leeches and people who refuse to read, and leeches and people who refuse to read don't participate in vote kicks. Thus I can not start a new PUG by running an open group or joining a random queue. Until I get up into the 35+ levels I run my own groups or join only people who send me a tell that makes sense first, and I lock my trials because the randumbsâ„— are not messing up my game time. |
I'm the same. If someone's motionless and silent in a DFB i send them a tell asking them if they're ok, then again after a little while, then i tell them im going to boit them, and if still nothing, I boot. I also boot people who kill Meintz' minions after being given ample clear requests not yo if there's anyone in the team who's expressed that they want the badge.
I understand that some players dont have team chat up, so I use local and broadcast as wellas team for instructions/warnings. I'm quite reasonable, I believe.
