No Grav Final Tweaks?
Wasn't addressed before going live. Maybe you'll see the changes in a patch or six but for now, you get what you got.
aka... This is lame... What is the point of a test server if you do stuff like this?
The whole way gravity has been handled has been incompetent. I honestly wish it had not been "fixed" at all rather than handling it this way. Since it has now been "fixed" we can expect no further significant modifications to it for another 4-6 years...
No matter that the impact changes help controllers and are irrelevant for dominators. No matter that dimension shift is still pointless, unless you now want to slot it with enfeebled op for the s/l defense bonus. It has been "fixed" and we are all happy!

A partial selection from my 50's on Freedom: Ail = Ice/Traps, Luck = Street Justice/Super Reflexes Stalker, Mist = Bane, Pixy = Trick Arrow/Archery, Pure = Gravity/Energy, Smoke = Fire/Fire Dominator
So testing gravity on Live today and the latest Propel and DS changes are NOT there.
Not sure that's been mentioned anywhere yet, but it's lame at any rate. No time to search for any mention of it. Playing atm but thought I'd share in case nobody's noticed it. |
Last issue Poison had this problem too, as did several of the new Interface powers. Apparently there are Lore pet combos with certain Interfaces that still aren't working.
They have been releasing issues when the build is good enough lately, and sometimes that doesn't even ring true.

Could you briefly list or direct me to these changes not on live? I was planning on rolling a grav Dom, but if there's still a lot of weirdness ill hold off for a bit.
Currently on Virtue:
Jinrazuo - Crab Spider
RWZ All-Pylon Solo Run
Propel doesn't have the splash knockdown and Dimension Shift doesn't shift teammates in the area.

Gravity Control

Arc #40529 : The Furies of the Earth
I really wasn't expecting it to have a radius of 15ft. Usually splash effects tend to be 5ft. I'm not complaining though! This should make the power quite competitive with the Assault sets.
Guide: Tanking, Wall of Fire Style (Updated for I19!), and the Four Rules of Tanking
Story Arc: Belated Justice, #88003
Synopsis: Explore the fine line between justice and vengeance as you help a hero of Talos Island bring his friend's murderer to justice.
Grey Pilgrim: Fire/Fire Tanker (50), Victory
OMG they're finally all live!
Quick! Run out and roll a gravity dom to show your uber l33t phase shifting skilz!
Please buff Ice Control.
I can't find the post now, but I thought a dev said something about how Dimension Shift could be used in conjunction with Wormhole to mitigate the scattering affect - it was in response to criticism that Wormhole was difficult to use in team situations.
Did I just imagine it? I've been playing around with Dimension Shift and it most definitely does not provide -knockback. I was really looking forward to having some kind of synergy there. =(

To which I pointed out that the teleport alone allows for that, and that if anything the knockback was detrimental to that very usage of the power.

I'm giving the new propel 3 thumbs up. That's the selling point to me. DS still isn't useful, but that splash knockdown is da bomb.
Please buff Ice Control.
If you cast it inside of DS it does move a majority of the mob to one point but sometimes 2-4 of them fly out of there due to the KB being sooo strong.

DS is enjoyable while solo and more useful than it was before. I still don't see it as a huge boon to teaming outside of the iTrials.

All-in-all, I like the little tweaks that Gravity has gotten. Not earth shattering but enough small changes that add to the set overall.
My level 50 Dominators:
Madame Mindbender 50 Mind/Energy
Fly Agaric 50 Plant/Thorn
Nate Nitro 50 Fire/Psi
Indeed it still needs more...like "OMG must roll a new Gravity toon now" more.
I can't figure out how Dimension Shift can be useful. I will be respeccing out of it at some point and taking the AoE Immob.
So Gravity is still getting a very situational power at a time when it needs reliable control. The knockdown component of Project is nice, but the low max target cap leaves something to be desired.
You know what would have been fun? An AoE patch that slows and randomly casts Lift on any enemies caught in it's radius, sort of like an ice patch or freezing rain. Ah well.

You'll take your phase power and like it!
That was pretty much Arbiter Hawk's design goal from the start.
You want to get some use for Dim Shift? Roll a /storm controller. I hear they're taking advantage of the debuff patch FR.
Please buff Ice Control.
Isn't it easier to just use Crushing Field on them with Freezing Rain? Dimension Shift prevents you from doing anything else unless you go into the radius yourself, defeating the purpose of phasing.
I did use it to good effect on a team yesterday with a Fire/Fire tank. I placed the Dimension Shift over them with Burn and then I used Wormhole to bounce other enemies into the radius.
I haven't tried the new form yet but solo or on small teams or with people you regularly team with it seems like it may have some tactical uses. Being able to drop it solo and then summon Singy in it too to grab aggro (and/or a PPP and/or an Incarnate pet) would be useful to my Grav/TA.
Doing what Snowzone did yesterday with Burn with Oil Slick Arrow sounds like a neat trick as well actually.
Given that the ignite target of Oil Slick is a pet in its own right it should phase once summoned too. Which means you'd only have to ignite it somehow to start doing damage to the enemies trapped in there.
So Gravity is still getting a very situational power at a time when it needs reliable control. The knockdown component of Project is nice, but the low max target cap leaves something to be desired.
