Arachnos ATOs
Based on other threads that have discussed it, I don't think there is huge enthusiasm for it. The effects of the proc seem pretty modest. Some people will want it just to squeeze a few extra percentage points out of every power. A lot of people seem to be eyeing the set as a replacement for Positron's Blast. Crabs in particular can easily bump into the Rule of Five (for 6.25% Recharge bonuses) if they have a few ranged AoE attacks and some pets.
It's a pretty crappy set compared to other ATOs, and yet compared to sets in general it's still better than most purple sets. Ultimate recharge, HP and damage bonuses are nothing to sneeze at. It gets better enhancement values than purple sets do since it spreads the values around more across the categories rather than focusing so pointlessly on damage alone. Unlike purple sets you can slot it at any level - my fortunata is nearing 35 and will immediately be slotting it into gloom. I already have the proc slotted in psychic whirlwind, to good effect.
It's no Scrapper's Strike, but what is? I'm just happy to have these new Swiss army knife sets available to all ATs, and the plus side of its relative unpopularity is that any soldier of Arachnos can easily pick up the full set on the cheap.
The relative unpopularity of Soldiers of Arachnos compared to say, Scrappers, should create a glut on the market for a while. But, since you can convert them to other sets, I expect that the price of the less popular ones will soon develop a "floor" like the unpopular purple recipes did. So, this may be the time to pick them up on the cheap while many people are still opening packs.
I'm debating if i will get rid of one of my 5 Purple sets i have, namely Absolute Amazement in my Omega Maneuver. (C'mon, don't say i'm the only one who thought of that.)
The only thing that's really stopping me are the fact that even when i get the SATO, i'll loose 4% Rec (Currently 3.5%/Sec), and 2.52% Fire/Cold resist (Currently 54.35%), while I'll gain 32HP (Currently 1522HP/ 2139HP w/Serum ) and 4% Damage (Currently 44.5%/ 94.5%w/Aim). Recharge time (100%) and Accuracy (1.83x, 105%ToHit) will stay the same.
I use my Omega mostly on big mobs, it stuns them for a good 17 seconds, giving me time to kill some, and injure most. If i place a damaging set in there, i might cause more damage with the blast, but they'll also get stun for a shorter amount of time, meaning i could get a bigger angry mob attacking me.
Anyone wanna pitch in their two cents?

However if you don't catalyze, and replace a non-purple set, then it's a win, as I believe the bonuess are unique to the set and won't violate the Rule of 5 no matter what else you slot in your build.

Do you suck at COH/COV? not yet...
The recharge bonus for un-catalyzed DoA, 5-pieces, is 8.75% - which as far as I know is unique and as such will totally avoid the Rule of 5. However the catalyzed set has bonuses equivalent to a purple set (10% Rech, etc.) - meaning possible Rule of 5 issues if you have a lot of Purples already.

As I mentioned above, the catalyzed set has the same bonuses as a purple set - so if you catalyze it, you should notice no real change - except for perhaps a sub-par Proc compared to whatever proc you may be replacing. I've never thought of using omega blast just for the stun. I tend to use it as my pulling tool and nuke.
How fast does Omega Bomb recharge for you and how much DPA does it do with those 5 slotted?
Way I see it, the ATO is very nice in the two extremes. Can't afford purples and has too many purples. By 6 slotting it in supression and upgrading the proc, I gained 2.5% recharge, some damage and other useful bonuses, which means I can change one of my pets to slotting a recharge pet one, giving me an extra 6.25% recharge.
The proc is also VERY VERY nice. It really makes the set worthwhile. I've seen it terrorize bosses and at x8 it will go off about 4/5 times per spawn, getting most of the minions, maybe a boss or Lt and the 15% damage debuff will work on EBs/harder mobs.

Recharge:124.2sec (360sec)
Damage: Smashing 108.2/ Energy 216.3 = 324.5 (166.8)
Accuracy: 411.6% (75%)
Stun: Mag 3 - 17.6Sec (8.9Sec)
No I/O boosters either.

Interesting...if I 5 Posi blast, with proc, I end up with 300 DPA, 125 seconds reuse and 402% accuracy.
However, if I slot it with 5 slots including proc of AA, I only lose 70 DPA and the recharge is down to 101 seconds, with an extra long (17.6 second) stun.
I think I might just do that.
I run a fairly tight build on my Crab, so I don't have many options available when it comes to slotting that don't cause me to lose other bonuses I desire. Can't slot the set into one of my targeted AoEs because doing so would cost me a Positron's Blast set and thus screw my attack range up. Thankfully, the proc never did anything for me, so I only need to slot 5 enhancers.
At this point, it looks like DoA is going into Longfang to compliment the Apocalypse set in Channelgun (both powers use 5/6ths of the sets due to me having Achilles Heel procs in them as well).

My pet build has perma hasten, and all 3 pets are perma too.
My main build doesn't need it, 100% recharge bonus is good enough.

My Crab Spider operates in melee. He doesn't want his victims stunned, slowed, terrorized or immobilized. He wants the whole mob to run up and give him a group hug so he can use Frenzy and hit multiple targets with Arm Lash. That's why I consider the ATO proc more annoying than useful. Even on teams when I can't really hold much aggro, I normally fire off Suppression while the tank is herding things up. But with the ATO proc it creates stragglers that stop and cower instead of being herded. I am currently using the whole set in Suppression, but I will probably replace the proc with a recharge IO or a Damage/Range Hami-O.
I did have Omega Maneuver slotted with Stupefy when I was leveling up, but I liked Positron's Blast better. Ultimately I dropped the power altogether because it was too slow to be effective on teams.
Yeah, that is something else I am looking at, maybe get frag grenade instead.
Thing is about Omega Bomb, I like the tanking ability it brings to the table. In large spawn rooms, I tend to agro one lot with supression, drop an omega bomb in group two, and then keep on fighting. It brings more mobs too me so I can use frenzy and my pets. It also swallows alpha strikes for me, no problem.
If I worked out what would be a good replacement for it, I would use it I think.
On the other hand, the proc is fantastic for my fort. It lets me dive into a group while psi tornado animates with confidence that most targets hit will be either flipped or feared, if not both. From there mopping up is a simple matter of hitting wail or more tornadoes as applicable. The fact that the fear works on bosses is a godsend. I have to admit I haven't noticed the -dam at all and can't really think of a way to measure its impact aside from painstaking statistical analysis, i.e. that thing that I'm definitely not going to do for this.
I've got two builds for my bane. One ranged, and one melee. I don't know if I'll use the proc on my melee build but, I'm using the whole set on my ranged one and plan to slot it in venom grenade. A ranged AoE that does damage, debuffs resistance, and keeps them all feared so I can keep hitting them with AoEs? Yes please.

OK. I just found a very nice little AE farm on my tanking crab. Made about 2000 tickets for 20 minutes work, probably not amazing, but it got me up to 7000 for a gold class recipe and the badge.
This proc is amazing for that cause it prevents a lot of damage.
My attack chain is now Suppresion=>Venom Nade=>Spam Longfang/Channelgun until Supresion is up again=>Suppression
This, to me, is an amazing ability.
I ended up slotting the set of this on my Night Widow in place of Obliteration in Spin. So far the results have been extremely positive, and I haven't even used any catalysts yet! The set bonuses are nothing to sneeze at, and the proc does a wonderful job at both damage mitigation and keeping the mobs next to me for continued destruction. So far I give it two thumbs up!

I haven't tested it yet, but right now I have the ATO set slotted into spin on my night widow. Right now, the plan is to use the proc to keep the enemies in a near perpetual state of terror while using spin as I pick them off one by one.

I have 5 out of the 6 pieces slotted in my Fortunata's Psychic Scream, and so far I'm really liking it. The proc adds a little bit of extra control to one of my main AoEs, and the ATO's set bonuses are a noticeable improvement over the old positron's blast, at least in upping the power's damage.
I'm usually pretty tight on inf, so my build doesnt have more than one purple set. By replacing the 6.25 recharge bonus from Positron's blast with the ATO's recharge bonus, it gave me a little more flexibility in relocating the recharge bonuses without bumping into the rule of five.

Yeah, I've never used Omega Maneuver for a stun, because the stun is random, and it only stuns for a few seconds if that. Slotting it for taunt? the taunt is random as well and only taunts for a few seconds. I tend to use it for damage mainly, as I have 5 Ragnaroks in it. I use it as a nuke. I usually do: Web Envelop, Omega Maneuver, Venom Grenade, and then Spring Attack. But that might change with Suppression being slotted for the terrorize proc. I might Web Envelop and then go immediately into Suppression to hopefully terrorize the immob'd mob, then Omega Maneuver, Venom Grenade, Spring Attack, and then repeat the whole cycle. Channelgun and Longfang will be used to shoot runners and as "pulling powers".
