Roman swords/axes?
Because nobody would run the ITF if they already had the weapons. Duh.
Or something.
Honestly, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Strawman much? I didn't see anyone complaining about the existence of the pack, only that the devs left the weapons out for no clear reason, which makes it feel like they just botched an attempt to fulfill what has been a frequent request since Freedom, if not much earlier. As customers, we have every right to voice our opinions (preferably calmly, as this thread has so far been) on the product we're purchasing. That is, after all, what the feedback thread is for.

I know it's a small group that has nothing to do but complain, but I don't have much enthusiasm for this forum anymore as a result of it.

OK... but this isn't that thread. So, you're attacking an argument which no one in this discussion is actually making, which is the definition of a strawman. Whether or not somebody somewhere else has at some point made that argument doesn't make it less of a strawman.

How can you call it a roman costume bundle when the roman swords and axes are not part of it?
Well said.

Freedom means having the freedom to nickle and dime your playerbase.
Be well, people of CoH.

There are a couple of threads with dev responses about this. One reason given is keeping a reason to run that TF.

And do we really believe nobody would run the ITF if it weren't giving away a handful of powerset-specific costume items? It's not a problem for... well, any other TF in the game that people are still running.
I think the "coming to our rescue with a weapons pack (for an additional charge) in a few months" theory holds a lot more water than the official line.

Because we've always had the Roman Gladius sword available at level 1. So it would be kind of stupid to sell people a weapon they already have unlocked.

"Quit complaining, you've already got the Fantasy Blade, that's good enough."
For the record:

The basic gladius, available to everyone at level 1.

The "Roman - Gladiator" and "Roman - Savage" swords (yes, they're actually listed as "Roman" in the character editor), omitted from the Roman costume bundle -- "They were intentionally left out to maintain some exclusivity to the Imperious Task Force (ITF)." Even though that's not how they're unlocked. The shields unlocked in exactly the same way as these swords are included in the bundle.
And, for completeness:

The Romulus and Romulus Nictus swords, also omitted from the Roman costume bundle "to maintain some exclusivity to the Imperious Task Force." These actually are unlocked through the ITF, so the logic holds up in the case of these two -- though I think it's important to mention that the equivalent shields, also (until now) unlockable only by completing the ITF, are included in the bundle, despite the stated goal "to maintain some exclusivity to the Imperious Task Force."
I don't have a Battle Axe character with the Roman axes unlocked (which, by the way, also happens via the Centurion badge and not the ITF), so I can't provide screen caps of those, but I think it's safe to say those are markedly different from the gladius, too.

The Roman gladius (straight edge)comes at a later period. Roman swords intially had leaf blade designs like Greek swords. We can only speculate why the Romans shifted away from the leaf blade designs to the well known gladius (eg. maybe because it was more efficient for thrusting? maybe it was easier to produce in mass?).
The Roman Gladiator is not available at level 1 and it not part of the supposed "Roman Costume bundle".
The Roman Savage is actually from a movie, but still can be used in other designs as it looks a lot like a machete also omitted from the bundle.
And then there are the roman axes don't forget also not part of the bundle.
Yeah. We definitely don't want the devs doing nice things for us during holiday events anymore. Bunch of jerks. Where do they get off giving us a chance to buy access to content that's normally gated behind the completion of a 35+ TF just because it has things in common with the Spring Fling event.

In this case, the product being offered is one which a not-insignificant number of (potential) customers feel is incomplete -- almost as incomplete as the seller's explanation for that incompleteness.

Why are they not available with the roman costume bundle? They have nothing to do with the ITF?
