A weird thing happened on the way to the bank...
I am speed leveling a new character I am trying. I am grabbing all the banks as I go. So I am running my 5 radio missions on Talos last night. I enter the third one. (I am solo, trying to be quick) and right after me comes a couple mobs. I was thinking I had caught an ambush and was getting ready to hit powers/insp/defcon4 when I noticed it was another player. And after them comes another! And they are 50+1s (I was 26)
Me "What are you doing here?" Them "What?" Me " I don't mean to be rude, but this is my 26th radio mission. What are you doing here?" Them. Long pause (obviously in teamspeak) "Abandon" I went on and ran it fine after they left. Big layer cake cave room for the boss, least they could have done was go in and judgement the crap outta it for me. Sheesh, peeps these days. |
@Mindshadow
They crashed out doing the TPN incarnate trial. After that, you get a weird bug that makes you appear in random people's missions if you try and rejoin the crashed trial. That's why "abandon" - they had to leave mission, go back to the trial LFG and abandon it to clear the bug.

Defiant to the last!
One time we were starting a trial and the entire league ended up in someone's tip mission instead of the trial. We ended up just tearing though his +0/x1 mission. I can't imagine what was going through his head while it was happening.
Main Hero: Mazey - level 50 + 1 fire/fire/fire blaster.
Main Villain: Chained Bot - level 50 + 1 Robot/FF Mastermind.
BattleEngine - "And the prize for the most level headed response ever goes to Mazey"
Ah, so that was you! I was in that bugged TPN and saw you in your radio mission there. My apologies for the involuntary intrusion.

A few years back while on a blue side team, we logged into an instance and quickly defeated the first foe we came across as we rounded the corner. As we continued on with the rest of the map... and it dawned on me that we'd just mowed over another player that had accidentally spawned into our instance. (In our defense, he was playing a villain.) I sent him an apology and we chatted for a couple. I felt bad about it, but fortunately he laughed about the whole thing. Bug reports were sent by both parties.

Back when the BAF was new, I was part of an ITF. First mission went as normal. Second mission, we discovered about 16 extra people in the mission. We all had a good laugh out of it, and went through the mission with a BAF-sized team. At the end, we said fond farewells, and continued on to mission 3.
Lo and behold, who should arrive alongside us but the very same BAF league! Lag Hill didn't stand a chance against 24 Incarnates
I'd never use a nuke in a superhero universe. You nuke a city, you kill 1.5 million people minus one. The last guy not only gets superpowers from the explosion, but ones that let him survive a nuke...and wow, is he torqued off

I was playing earlier today and something strange happened in the radio mission. Villains, lots of them, bunches. I have no idea how many exactly but I knew how many it took to take me down. 1/2 of an attack. Weird thing was I got exp from these 50+4 people, incarnates with incarnate pets out in a level 31 mission just stomping everything. I had it on the max diff with +4/x8 on a radio mission for fun just to see if I could do something. After defeating me one said they could use vengeance power, and one even team teleported? me and I somehow was brought to them. They smashed through my entire mission until the very end, then left. I got so many bubbles, one mission later at a lower diff tho I got to 32.
So whatever team did that I thank you for the semi-level up?
Feel free to drop by, KO' me, and port me around anytime.

I'm tempted to join TPN trials now just to get this bug.
I love reading about these bugs, and they seem to come along any time a new trial's added. I really wanna see it happen!

Yeah, that happened sometimes right after CoV was put in. It was even more hilarious really, since here are these poor villains trying to level up and then suddenly level 40+ heroes roll in. It's like some poor thug tries to rob a 7-11 and Superman is just randomly there buying a soda. Evil will never triumph, because good is lucky.

Yep ... I found myself in someone else's mission a few nights ago after a TPN crash. I turned around and went out the bank door and was back in the RWZ but it was interesting (???) and I can only imagine what the mission owner thought since I appeared right in front of him.
Were always the good guys. In D&D, were lawful good. In City of Heroes were the heroes. In Grand Theft Auto we pay the prostitutes promptly and never hit them with a bat. Leonard
Those women are prostitutes? You said they were raising money for stem cell research! Sheldon
I remember something similar happening in the CoV beta. Missions would occasionally bug out, and somehow after exiting your mission your full team of evil and doom would pop into Atlas Park. And then you'd go train with Ms. Liberty, because well, you totally could. Just had to be careful of those dang drones...

You cannot use that power when you have been defeated.
