However, GG was talking about ENHANCEMENTS, the things you socket into your power slots on the management screen. A lot of them are items or physical upgrades/mutations. This allows players to keep unique costumes but still upgrade their "gear".

wow thanks for the links appreciate the swift reply Aggelakis.

I wasn't trying to say your opinion on costume pieces granting bonuses was wrong per se.

But it doesn't belong in a thread a dev started to solicit feedback for future costume pieces. That's all. And getting defensive when that was pointed out to you didn't help.

If you want to suggest it, put it in the Suggestions and Ideas forum where the idea belongs.

On topic:

A full body chainmail or scale mail pattern would be kind of cool.

Also, I don't recall anyone else mentioning this, but the head detail pieces that look like wide masks and such could use an upgrade. The blend between one color and another is kind of wonky, and you can't have the detail pieces a different color than your mask, or it looks weird.

I might not be explaining that very well, I'll see if I can find a screenshot that illustrates what I'm talking about.

I might be too late in posting on this thread, I see it's degenerated into fisty-cuffs

Anyway, one of the things I'd like to see is just tights w/o the sole option. Not "soul", but sole, the bottom of the shoe, as in more like just wearing socks without shoes, but for tights. Several comic characters tend to have this look, and I'd like it is an option as well.

That is all. Back to your squabbling...

I can actually second Akry's idea here.

One of my retired characters is a character that turns into a cloud, and having the sole there makes it a bit awkward...

since we are on the ideas of tights, an idea i just had is that a design of bioluminescence like the one in the costume selection, but with fire or ice patterns, could even cover the gloves and chest area too, since the first bioluminescence costume was pretty good imo.

Some options to consider:
A) revamped old school/spandex tights similar to the ones we already have (adding a few details like seams but still mostly plain)
This would be great for contemporary tights wearing characters, giving them a less painted on look.

Quote:
B) loose-fitting tights with folds (like you'd see in Golden/Silver Age comics)
This would be great for those ages, and for costumes of any age where the player wants the character to have tights that aren't perfectly form fitting and have a natural material look (as opposed to a skin tight ones with a spandex or latex look).

C) modern super-hero tights (w/ ribbing, surface texture(s), subdivided surfaces) a la Ultimates 1 or Marvel movies. Some say that the Defense and Olympian Guard base textures cover this style fairly well. Do you agree?
I think we already have plenty of costume pieces with this kind of feel.

X-----X

Masks that match tights better and have a less painted on look would be quite nice, as would some with the white eye look (preferably not glowing).

Also, it would be wonderful if masks that cover the ears also obscure the ear details instead of just changing the colour of them. Still seeing the ear details really detracts from the look of such masks.

I agree with this wholeheartedly, actually. My Slime Girl would really like to have the bottoms of her feet be as seamless as the tops. I honestly expected the "Full" boots to be full tights, but they're not. They still have a sole on the bottom. I would indeed like to see an option that's tights all around.

Really like the scale-mail tights idea.

But maybe also making these new textures available for the skin-showing tops too? Like the tanker would be amazing with other tight texture options, even if just something like olympian and defense.

Are you talking about replacing or supplementing? (I hope the latter.) Seams or something simple details would be nice to break up the visual monotony.

B) loose-fitting tights with folds (like you'd see in Golden/Silver Age comics)

I would really like this. I try to have Golden Age and/or Silver Age costume variants for many of my toons.

C) modern super-hero tights (w/ ribbing, surface texture(s), subdivided surfaces) a la Ultimates 1 or Marvel movies.

I would not be opposed to these, but not as an alternative to A or B.

Finally, to affirm and add on to what others have said:

- masks with white (non-glowing) eyes
- domino masks (pointed/diamonds) that have texture and aren't just painted.
- for female toons: white "tops with skin" that is actually white, and not flesh-colored.
- for male toons: A few more tops with skins options would be appreciated. Right now it's only Tanker and Tank Top; otherwise I have to do a pattern on bare skin, which really just looks like spray paint.

--add new tights w/ heavy folds

What I would _really_ like to see is to have all costume pieces get texture, separated into primary/secondary when there is a division. By 'texture' I mean a surface treatment that affects the way the base costume part displays, like 'flat', 'shiny', 'dull metal', 'shiny metal', 'shiny leather', and various textures like the hexagon pattern on the 'Stealth' costume pieces and the 'mesh' effect on the 'Defense' and 'Tech Sleek' pieces.

Unfortunately, this would require completely redoing all of the costume pieces, as the database structure would have to add two additional fields for the surface parameters, and change the rendering code for costumes, in order to have it check for the additional data and render appropriately. This makes doing this only slightly more likely to happen than for the art department to go through Paragon and the Rogue Isles and make all of the buoys compliant with the IALA Maritime Buoyage System (according to Positron, I'm apparently the only one who's been bothered enough by it to complain about it since the game released), so I'm not holding my breath.

Not in the Navy; I grew up as a Navy brat, so I grew up around the water, and with the Sea Scouts and the Navy Sailing Club while I was growing up, so I got to learn the MBS as part of the background knowledge of learning to sail.
