They had a Millenium Flacon at my local Walmart, I should have purchased it. Everything else seems like its KOTOR stuff. If I had a room converted into a shipyard, I snap it all up to star building EDF (Ebon Defense Force... of course )

Not much in the way of geeky gifts this year, although I did get this from someone:

Complete with blueprints for the yeast puppets, yay! <uuurp>

As to mothers, for some reason my mother always seems to think I'm too cold or something and gets me a jacket or such every year, and every year I return it and get something else entirely. We live in Hawaii and I have air conditioning in my house and my mom's concerned I'm a hypothermia candidate when I leave the house.

Funny thing is now that I've watched the show I keep hearing the entire book in Michael C. Hall's voice.
I think I lost track after the 3rd book? But they get more and more different as they go. There will be things that are similar but overall, they divert rapidly.

I suppose I am a little late to the party..

Other than clothes I mostly got dvds this year. Quite the varied assortment but these were the big ones I got from my mom.

That is a royal gift; the yeast sock puppets alone make it an awesome gift. Alton Brown was always my favorite show; sad to see it gone.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

While production has ended, it's not really "gone". It's in repeats on Cooking Channel. That channel is also showing the Japanese Iron Chef episodes too. Fourteen seasons and 249 episodes is a heckuva run for anything.

There was doubt? Srsly?

Secondly, why does that answer over everything else prove my born-with-naturalism?

Sorry, I'm just a jaded old man. Come from the time when, on the internet, the men were men and the women were men. After all this time, the presence of a cute, geek (geek in a good sense) woman (and one willing to post pictures of herself) is still a bit of a novelty to me. /em rockingchair

To answer the second, it was meant as a joke. But my apologies that it didn't take.

It's okay old guy. I'll make you some lemonade with brown sugar, bring out some cards and you can tell me all about the glory days when guys for some reason wanted to pretend they had to deal with a time of the month that isn't pleasant.

I knew you were joking I didn't make it very clear tho I'm sorry gramps.

P.S - Thanks for the kind compliment! That makes me all blushy.

Lemonade with brown sugar? Blech. Make that a lemonade with either vodka or whiskey and you got yourself a deal! Chronologically, I'm 33. Cynically, I'm 75. Maturitally, I'm 12. Physically, I feel 200. And playing cards isn't so bad...

Oh god, I'm old!! I really do need to get out the rocking chair...

Would you like that out of pine, mahogany, or red oak?

Please send your requests to my adopted minion: ZombieMan.

Does it have flight capabilities? Cuz here I am using my feet like a sucker. And ew...a zombie working with power tools to create it? That seems like it would be a) messy; and b) run through a lot of zombies till a trainable one is found.

Other than Best Buy cards, I didn't get any geek swag for Christmas. In my family, I'm the major geek so its always up to me to gift others geek swag, while I get the benefit of their non-geek taste for clothes. So with that I gave my brother this:

You're all jealous, I'm sure

To be fair, I do tend to collect a lot of geek swag throughout the year, so nobody really knows what to get me that I don't already have.
