New ATIO proc
Let's see... at the time of this writing:
* Dominion of Arachnos: Accuracy/Damage
* Dominion of Arachnos: Damage/Recharge
* Dominion of Arachnos: Accuracy/Damage/Recharge
* Dominion of Arachnos: Damage/Endurance/Recharge
* Dominion of Arachnos: Accuracy/Damage/Endurance/Recharge
* Dominion of Arachnos: Recharge/Chance for -Dmg and Terrorize
All of which also come in purple flavors with the word Superior stuck in front.
I'd prefer a flat-out Toxic proc, but that Dam/End/Rech looks delicious.
Yeah the toxic dot would have been nice, but would maybe be too much to have a dot and -dam debuff in one proc... and I think I'd rather have the -dam than the dot if I had to choose between the two. What would really be nice is if the debuff stacked from the same user, but not counting on it. The mag 2 terrorize I'm not sure will be useful, will have to wait and see.
My only concern about the set is that the superior's set bonuses fall short on the hit points: it's listed at 3% where the other purple sets with hps (apocalypse, soulbound pet set) are at 4%. Not a -huge- deal but it isn't a superior stat.
Reading the text of the 2 procs, there are 2 version. One for -7.5 defence, one for mag 2 terroize.
Which source are you using? The Enhancement as it currently exists is a single proc that deals -Damage (not Defense) and Terrorizes as well.
WW in game. Last I checked, the proc had the same title, but if you examined them, one said -7.5% defence chance, the other terroize. I'll try and get a screeny later.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
According to both Mids and in-game, Apocalypse and Soulbound Allegiance have 3% hp set bonuses, not 4%. This is still larger than any non-purple hp bonuses, which are almost all below 2%.

Isn't that a good thing, so you can better avoid the rule of five?
|
+7% acc/health +1.88%/dmg 3%/+ 8.75% rech/ +toxic and psi resist +2.21%
and for a standard set those are some nice numbers. Bottom line is I think it's a win/win scenario: we get the opportunity for a new superior set and, if we already have 5 of them slotted, we can just choose to keep the lesser set and still have some great bonuses.
Now if we can just get that toxic dot...
I think the new proc has been changed to a -damage and terroize proc from the wiki. I need to check in game.
OK, the new ATIO set on beta looks pretty decent up to the 5th slot.

Now I dunno about you, but I'm quite tempted to 5 into 1 power, and stick the proc in another power. The resistance doesn't really cut it for me, I think.
What do you guys think and what power would you put the proc in?
In general, I prefer to slot for the basics (accuracy, damage, recharge) instead of procs. I will use damage procs like the one in Positron's Blast when the power is so well enhanced that ED will simply eat any further enhancement bonuses.
I am not too concerned about toxic/psi resist and will probably 5-slot the set as well.
Based on the Wiki description, all five of the non-proc IOs in Dominion of Arachnos enhance damage. I suspect that much of this damage enhancement will be lost to diminishing returns, so I may just drop the Damage/Recharge IO and keep the proc.
I would slot it in Suppression.
I just tested the purple variant of the proc and in over a two hour period of fighting nothing but lvl 50 minions in the revamped DA I didn't see it activate even once. I have it slotted into followup on my NW, so the power was in use every 4 seconds or so.
The terrorize part I'm not too concerned with because minions that have my attention have a life expectancy of about one second, but the -dmg would absolute killer to use against EBs and AVs. Already reported it and am anxious to see how it works for us.
I patched beta when I got up this afternoon and the proc now works! Using an analyzer temp power with the superior proc I noticed the following:
- currently the terrorize fires with every attack it's associated with. It applies the same "skull" graphic on the target as touch of fear does. It also stacks and you can terrorize lts and bosses (it lists as mag 2 on the analyzer, but I routinely got to mag 4 with 2 attacks) <--- guessing this is a bug.
- more importantly: the superior proc is a -15% damage debuff, rather than the lesser's -7.5%. This is very nice!
I was skeptical about how this would perform, the -15% debuff of the superior proc has me sold on it now.
OK, so it looks like it may be best to 5 slot the normal abilities with the 6 slot being the proc superior version.
However this means we will need to sink some money into the packs and if so, we are likely to end up with spare enhancements we don't need, but there is thankfully looking to be an option to buy 5 converters with an emp merit. I'll do the maths later.
The terrorize, how long does it last and the damage debuff and does it affect AVs, if so, to what degree?

In terms of duration, the text says 10 seconds... seemed about right. The first 2 mag terrorize dropped about half way. Assuming this is not a bug, this will be pretty damn awesome.
I threw it in to heavy burst and was terrorizing groups of enemies (including bosses), pretty consistently. We'll see how this actually ends up playing out once it hits live.
There is 1 other bug though, the recharge stays at 18.5 even when you upgrade it to Superior. That doesn't seem right.
Currently on Virtue:
Jinrazuo - Crab Spider
RWZ All-Pylon Solo Run
So it gains in potency? How about the proccing, worth sticking in suppression or venom grenade?
Likely the opposite. Starts out high mag then slowly loses power, like the Destiny Incarnate buffs.

If it stays as is, DEFINITELY worth slotting.

OK.
The new ATIO is live. I have it, it is worth having. The bonuses are nice and testing it on Rikti x8 spawns, they weren't even touching me and they got terroized quite quickly

Bummer, I'm enroute to the airport for some vaca so I won't be able to play around with it until next week.

Tested it myself by tossing it into Psionic Tornado since Dark Obliteration and other patron attacks couldn't take it. I'm not sure what the PPM stuff is all about, but I'd say it was going off way more often than 20%, and far more frequently than 4 times per minute. I've got no idea if they use new mechanics or if the frequency numbers are accurate, but it's pretty awesome thusfar.
OK, been testing it on groups of Malta (grey to me) in RWZ (because they tend to bunch up nicely). And 2 groups of 51+ Rikti
The terroize effect only seemed to fire off on minions only and sometimes there was a delay of up to 5 seconds.
I then made a random x8 AE map with winter horde on it to test.
I ran between 4 spawns of x8 winter horde in a minute, just testing the proc. In each spawn, I would terrorize 2-5 minions and only 1 lieutenant I noticed. However, I was doing this by eye, no programs running or whatever.
Are the terroize and -dmg linked? So it can proc on some enemy who is not terroized but still damage debuffed?
The set is without +def so to me it wont replace any of my ranged attack set that have 6 slotted thunderstrike for 4% ranged.
The set is better than posi for ranged AOE, because it gives better recharge. But not enough to make me want it.
Now if it had +def or def debuff resist in it that would have been awesome but as it currently is only the proc is of any interest to me, the rest are frankenslots at best.

Trilby & Community,
In what power did you end up putting the 6th Dominion of Arachnos ATO in? I'm going to slot Suppression with just 5 of the normal set (upgrading to all Superiors is pointless for me, as I already have 5 purple sets in my build), but I'm not sure where to stick the 6th ATO at. Suppression or Venom Grenade? Any advice is appreciated.
Virtue H&V: CatSquid of Justice-Lvl 37 TriForm PB, Tundra Tigress-Lvl 50 Claws/SR Scrapper, Mistress Khaos-Lvl 50 Dark/Fire Brute, D'Vine Death-Lvl 50 Plant/Thorn Dom, Phrozen Purrgatory-Lvl 50 Ice/Cold Corr, Prowling Pantheress-Lvl 50 Claws/Nin Stalker, Robo Mynx 3.0-Lvl 50 Bots/Traps MM, ArachniBlast-Lvl 50+3 Perma Hasten/Perma Pets/High Recharge Crabspider, Devil's Wrath-Lvl 50 Bane Spider. SG: The 912 Project, VG: Progressively Evil.
So it looks to be a terrorize mag 2 and toxic damage proc. What do you guys think of this and what would you change it to?
I dunno how often a mag 2 would provide any use, but the toxic damage is OK. The other option, as I remember is an extra 7.5% debuff, which I prefer. Stick it on your fastest attack. On a crab, that is 15% defence debuff a hit, no need for combat training offensive then.
Personally I would like to see more of these. Maybe one for pets that adds an extra attack to their chain or debuffs to their attacks, as pets seem to be a big part of the AT. Maybe also theme them around the patrons? I know we have things like Ghost Widows Embrace, but maybe Black Scorpions blow which has a proc for knock down and smashing damage, or Lord Recluse's Command, which has a proc for summoning a single pet at a low chance (so at max you can have 3 pets from this and they die pretty quickly, basically just a thematic dot :P )
