I would pay good points for an "Instant Snowstorm" toggle power.

Title says it all. I'd pay good points for a permanant "Instant Snowstorm" toggle power. I'd also pay points for a similar "Falling Leaves" (autumnal) power and a sound-oriented "Birdsong" spring power.

Of course with the conditional Null the Gull option for folks to not see it for those with less powerful graphic systems.

I'd just really like to see more weather/story oriented visuals like this. Oooh, thinking of that, maybe have black and white and sepia tone filter options for golden age or noir style heroes? They already exist in game with Oroborous and the like, just have an option to make them perma on a character if they want it, to see the world through 'their eyes'.

Anyway, I love snow, and where I live I don't see it often. The first time I saw snow in this game was standing near a Winter Lord by accident, then found out about the Instant Snowstorm.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.. hope the Dev's consider making it a purchaseable power.

I couldn't agree more.

I would pay points for a perma-version of the power the elf sells. I.E. the same power with unlimited charges. I was really hoping it would be included in the winter pack, I love the power so much.

Of course a toggle would be fine, too. Any version of this power I can get that's permanent would be awesome.

I pretty much feel the same way. I really think this, and other similar powers would be a great solution to "weather" in Paragon, even better because we get to control what we see so it fits our characters/theme/mood, etc.

A Storm character that can make it rain, snow, etc. would eat these types of cosmetic power options up just for thematic reasons. I have a character that changes costume every season as he is the embodyment of each season (BS/Regen as a youthful spring with a bright green 'Autumn' trail aura, a mature summer with a sunsword and gold highlights, an older and wiser Autumn look with the petals colored to look like fallen leaves- use the thorn blade for bare branches, and an oakey wizened winter with the snowstorm aura and the organic sword colored to look like snow and ice formed on a darkened blade). His name is Parsley Sage (and one of my SG mates has a Rosemary Ann Thyme plant 'troller as his ally).

Anyway, I think 'instant snowstorm' is a window into an option many of us have been wishing for a long time. I tossed in the 'sepia' and 'black and white' options because I have a few characters I'd set that to all the time if I could as well for thematic reasons. I'd pay for a whole 'weather pack' or 'mood setting' pack if they'd let me. Hell they could make it two different packs

One with weather (birds chirping a bit brighter, rain, snow, leaves falling, etc)

One with moods (sepia tone (with and without film grain), black and white (with and without film grain), grindhouse, even a 'freem' theme would work here!

Honestly, these are things I'd pay for. Stuff they wouldn't include in the game otherwise because they were a little 'niche' or 'specific' and with weather Posi said long ago wouldn't be worth it because there wasn't a way they could do it and make it 'fun' as well as visual... well I'd pay for it. Some of it already exists in some form or another.

So shut up and take my money!!

As his ally, or as his fair lady?

We already have falling leaves aura, but a falling snow aura would be cool.

I like the idea as well, but I haven't seen the temp power be a strain on anyone's systems that I know of. I think by and large the temp power is animation-based that spreads over a large area and persists for a while.

I'd like to think it's a testbed for seeing if other similar animated effects can be done, as there's evidence of it in First Ward (where the valleys are, there's some brilliant dust storms with weeds tumbling through also) and it's no noticeable impact on systems that I know of.

I'd like to see this be trialled in zones (though I suspect Dark Astoria is going to be using it big time) for events and the like. Any technical types care to chip in?

You mean like the Snow aura? That we have?

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

Chuck in a few different weather effects [with like you say, the option to cancel it] and could possibly be one of the better purchases on the Paragon Market.
