Is this legit?

Warning: Thar be Spoilers in this here thread! If you haven't done all of Twinshot's arcs, you might not want to read this rant.

Okay, so I finally get one of my newer characters to 15, and take the chance to play the 3rd Shining Stars arc.

So I call up Twinshot, and she gives me my first mission... talk to the Hero Corp representative in Croatoa.

Wait... What?!

The first mission sends my levle 15 character to Croatoa... a level 25-34 zone.

And when I speak with him? Why, I only have to go back to Steel Canyon for the mission. And then, after that's done (despite Grym seeming to catch Lady Jane's disease) I have to go speak with the Hero Corp guy in Croatoa AGAIN.

For someone using Ninja Run as a travel power? That's kinda painful. Well, getting back at least. I get to take the Dead Train to the guy. Hey, silver lining, I'm working on those Debt Badges allready! (grumble)

Is this REALLY how it's supposed to happen? Was there some reason we can't just use the one IN Steel Canyon for this?

Also, has anyone else seen a remarkable lack of the I part in the partner AI in this arc? Both Grym and No Mind (appropriate name, that) seem to have a deathwish, charging right into a large mass of enemies, and getting killed, leaving me to deal with an entire room's worth of agro, rather than just a single groups. (More Debt for me. Joy.)

Although, I suddenly have a desire to team with the Shadow Commando... Hopefully, he would have been more help than No Mind was...

The game has a lot of missions that are inexplicably placed in higher level areas yea. you get used to it.

As far as the AI goes, the only partner I only had a problem with was Flamboux who didn't seem to want to do a damn thing.

No, usually it doesn't. While you may sent to an area in a zone that has enemies too hard to fight, it shouldn't send you to a zone that's the next tier up.

This mission jumped out at me the same way when I ran it.

When I last ran Twinshot's 3rd arc I was sent to talk to the Hero Corps trainer in Steel Canyon. That was a month and a half maybe 2 months ago.

I ran that arc early on, and if I recall correctly, that particular mission DID send you to the rep in Steel Canyon. This may be bug. Even if it's not, it wouldn't hurt to report it as one. The worst that can happen is you get a response back saying that it is working as intended.

I also had a HUH!?! moment about this since I knew the Hero Corp Rep was at the Uni in Croatoa not close to the monorail station. I first ran the arc through Ouro and sincerely questioned this in my home servers Badging channel. I was told it is a Text bug. The mission text should read Steel Canyon. Some how it is borked in that BOTH Croatoa and Steel Canyon Hero Corp Reps will give you the mission. No other Hero Corp Reps will give it to you ( I grabbed the arc through Ouro multiple times and went to every Hero Corp Rep in every City zone to check this). I /bug reported it.

If this is happening to you do the same.

Yeah, there's some sort of weird bug on that arc. It's supposed to send you to the one in Steel Canyon, but I guess that one got copy/pasted over to Croatoa and so the mission text sends you there. Either one will complete the mission. Same is true for the "Talk to Ms. Liberty in Fort Trident" while the one 30 feet away in front of the Atlas statue gives the exact same speech.

Yup was wondering that mself.

You can also just use the midnighter club if you run that arc early on (pops up at 10) the Croatoa entrance takes you right to the corps analyst

Thanks a lot for the info and your hard work on it. Good to know.

In the Posi TF, you also get sent to talk to the Rep in Croatoa, but you can complete the mish by speaking to the Rep on the other side of the statue from Posi.

This is also true of Posi part 2, at one point it asks you to talk to a Hero Corp Rep, sometimes it picks the one in Croatoa for some reason, but talking to the one in steel still works. Probably similar to the mission to talk to Ms. Liberty in Manticore's task force that tells you to go to Ft. Trident, when you can still talk to the one in atlas to advance.

Some of the previous posters have hit the nail on the head.

To answer your question, no, it's not legit. It should tell you to speak to any analyst, whether it be the one in Atlas, Steel or wherever it's convenient for you. That being said, because of the glitch in the posi task force, and knowing the simple work around, I strongly believe that instead of going to croatoa, you could have spoken to the one in atlas, or the one in steel.

Not sure if it could be either one, but there was a time when one of my characters got sent to kings row to talk to an analyst. So, only a red name can say for sure. But me, I'd try talking to the closest one first.

I think the point of the 3rd arc is to get you to use the Midnighter's building from Steel Canyon to Croatoa. Its assuming you have done Montague Castanella's arc, which unlocks at level 10 and allows you into the club.

So I don't think this is actually a bug. I can't remember the 3rd arc dialogue, but I think it should (if it doesn't) mention the Midnighter's Club and doing Montague Castanella's arc to allow safer passage to Croatoa.

Thanks for telling me that I didn't actually need to run to Croatoa. Oh well.

...

And I have obviously been playing Redside too much. I completely forgot that Blueside, you can become a Midnighter at level 10...

If it makes you feel any better, when I did this arc, it sent me to Croatoa too and it took me three trips to the hospital whlie trying to run back to the train to remember that I was playing a Stalker. If I didn't already have the Facepalm emote, I certainly would've earned it that night.

This came up in another thread a while back and some one claimed they completed the mission by talking to the rep in Kings. I haven't tried it myself, but it does sound like ANY Hero Corp rep will work.
