Try looking at your server's global channels, there's probably a lot of teaming going on there too.

Of course if you are a F2P player or dont have access to globals as a premium then yes help channel is the LFG channel.
Also if anybody does tell you on the help channel that it should only be used for help and not for looking for teams, ignore them. Until there is an actual LFG channel available to all, the help channel is the best source.
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!

Most of us don't mind requests, even if repeated every few minutes or so. But we do mind having one person's LFG filling up the help window.

I turned it off when I came back since I didn't need help and didn't know enough to help others.
Started a new character and discovered the help chat is basically the LFG for the game now. Lots of chatter and spam of course, but it was amazing how active the teaming was compared to just what is in broadcast
