Null the Gull and Knockback
Radial knockback definitely is hated in game, but other than that I haven't heard any complaints.
Uh... Why is that an "improvement" to either BS or DB? The only case where I can see anyone worrying about lower-level foes is when empowered by the Alpha Slot level shift. The effect you're describing is not significant against just -1s.

No it isn't. Look at the power statistics in game on KO Blow. KU is a separate statistic from KB, it's just that anything that has/grants KB protection or resistance also grants the same amount of KU protection or resistance.

I dont think anyone cares about single-target knockback. What everyone hates are AoE knockbacks, and I for one would love to see them vanish from the game. I'd love to see all KB become KD; and I am someone running an elec/elec Brute, so there you go. That would not nerf Lightning Rod one BIT.

I do that (would need to if people could fight in that trial *sigh* although the new changes will help) but also I've a Dom that loves to knock mobs over railings in office maps for breathing space. This prevents that.
I concur.
There are other more practical examples. In the Keyes iTrial, I know people who Shockwave WarWorks off of the reactor platforms to release terminals for temp power use. That isn't working any more. |
KU should never become knockback. Now if the mag is high enough the target will ragdoll some and can move a small distance. But it is not knockback (if up against a railing above said dominator can have a Levitate target come back down on the other side of said railling.
Orc&Pie No.53230 There is an orc, and somehow, he got a pie. And you are hungry.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.

unless the Void is lower level than you, IS is knockdown, not knockback.
Hit a Void with IS, watch him get right back up and in melee range - blah. Or, if you REALLY want to feel like you're not doing anything, take the character back into AP, find some low-low-lowbie clockwork (with lower kb resist than most other mobs,) fire and watch them... not really seem to care they should be sent flying.

On another note...haven't noticed the changes on my Katana Brute, Soaring Dragon and Golden Dragonfly seem unaffected. However, my /NRG Blaster noticed it during a iTrial, I typically use Energy Thrust to get melee enemies away from me and instead of flying back about 10 feet, they look like they just simply fall backwards.
Don't worry KB-lovers - I have no doubt this 'bug' will be fixed.
And I'll miss it terribley. To be able to launch right into the center of a giant mob and take the Alpha on my PB, firing of Solar Flare immediately, followed by Luminous Detonation and knowing my team won't be chasing foes at all corners of the room... I've been loving this.
It shall be missed.
Fiddling with my stormie, this change is not as gentle as it's being advertised. I'm still flinging even-cons dozens of yards away.
Given that, though, I am confused by the comment that this would make BS better. There's no KB in it unless you hit underlevel foes with Headsplitter. I don't even think it knocks -1s back.
Sweep combo from Dual Blades is an example.
