It's all one question. What character fulfills 3 different requirements. Your example gets one of 3.

My point is that the only people who would tend to need melee def (and ToD) are SD and /Ninj, but neither of them would need 5 of either. Maybe a blapper who goes melee over s/l, but they are unlikely to have 5 ST melee attacks.

And as for ranged def, you have the same sd and /ninj with the same level of not needing it, and those blaster/def/controllers who decide to specialize in range, but they are both unlikely to have 5 melee attacks AND even if they have them available are not going to have the slots to 6 slot them.

The main attraction of the attuned IOs is that they level with the character, so you can slot the character early, and get the advantage of increasing IO values as they level. Since Kin Combats will stop levelling up at 35, there isn't all that much advantage over slotting them around level 30-35, as normal. Paying real money to get to use the IOs for an extra 10 or 15 levels seems a bit redundant, especially when they're levels that go by fairly quickly anyway.
But that wasn't JayBoh's complaint about them. His complaint was that they don't go up to 50. And the non-attuned ones also don't go up to 50, so he (presumably) would not use those either.

I'm questioning his automatic rejection of sets that cap at lower than 50 by point out that one of the most powerful and in demand sets does not go up to 50.

Also, the main benefit isn't the scaling, it's not paying a half billion for 4 pieces.

I know it's a radical, unheard of concept, but you could, you know, *play* the arc. After all, perhaps the tragedy referred to isn't what...

...oh why bother.

That's correct. I don't softcap every toon I come up with.

I don't have a single Kinetic Combat enhancement on any character at all. I don't try to softcap toons unless they are using a defensive armor set and even then I play this game with others as often as possible instead of trying to maximize solo play. Yes, on teams it would just be that much more uber, but I think out of all my toons that I currently play, only my SR tanker is currently beyond the softcap.

You might get screwed if you change your mind about the character, but if not, you won't lose anything.
I thought they were account bound, not character bound. You can't use them for one character, then respec them out and email them to another character?

Would make it up a lot better going for S/L than for Melee/Ranged.

I haven't actually tested that yet, but I believe it is possible. I was mainly addressing the whole "I can't buy it until I make the character" mistake.

That's how it works. I slotted a couple into characters that were scheduled for respecs to test the functionality.

Not sure if it was an error for just me or if the change has gone un-announced but I took a peak at the market and the Autumnal Path aura was priced at 80 points instead of the initially advertised 120, no discount or anything, just a flat 80.

Why is this is greyed out in the market for VIP players? I would like to purchase this so that the set is accessible when my account turns Premium again, but I am unable to. It's illogical to disallow VIP players from taking advantage of sales.

Finally saw it up close on Live; looked tons better than the vid... still not my thing though...

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"

So, did the Melee IOs that were introduced on Nov 8 get pulled from the store? Did I miss the announcement saying that they were going to be pulled or that they were a limited time offer?

They certainly weren't marked as such in the Paragon Market, and they're not there as I'm going through the listing for new/changed items.

(I do like that the Autumn Path Aura was discounted to match the price of other auras, though.)

Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges

And yes, they were marked on the market interface with the timer countdown.

Wow. I do not know how I missed that, unless they added it in after the initial announcement. I apologize and promise to "lrn2read" in the future.

The countdown timer, I had assumed was just because their sale price was ending, not that they were being removed from the store.

That said, the individual Touch of Death enhancements are still on the market, though their set bundle is not.

Everyone does this (every hybrid MMO operator that is). They don't want you taking advantage of sales for things you'll lose by downgrading, because they believe it'll make you more likely to cancel your sub once you've bought everything you'll need on sale.

And to be fair, if you weren't already planning ahead for a downgrade, why would you even be looking at sales for things you have access to?
