Heads Up on Survival Pack

So to all the new players free and paid, I just wanted to put it out there that most of the powers in the Undead Survival Kit are easily accessible and free. While I do not dissuade anyone from purchasing the Kit and am all for NCSoft being a profitable company, I think it only fair that the sale be made under an informed decision. In the long run, I'd like for the player base to SUSTAINABLY expand which would only benefit everyone. What I don't want to see is people getting angry and leaving because they paid for something they find out later they could have attained by just playing the game.

Note however only one of the temp powers is available to both sides - and only if you have inventions access.

The other two are hero only, barring anyone unwilling or unable to side switch.

Does it have chainsaws?

cuz, imho, a REAL zombie survival pack would have chainsaws....

Ehh, realistically, though ( and I know "realistic" doesn't really apply. Just fun facts ), a chainsaw is one of the WORST anti-zombie weapons. They simply aren't made to chew through flesh and bone. It's only a matter of time before it binds up on you. That's not to mention the fact that swinging one around in a melee combat puts your own limbs at just as much, if not more, risk than the zombies' limbs.

In response to the OP: Note, in addition to the fact that most are locked to hero-side for the in-game acquisition, in-game acquisition also requires running through certain missions, several parts of an arc in some cases. So, yes, they're available "free" in-game. But mostly only to heroes, and most require a time investment. The pack in the store is a convenient shortcut.

Not to mention the fact that anyone who has used a chainsaw to cut wood knows that getting sawdust in your eyes and mouth is virtually unavoidable. Now, just replace sawdust with zombie bits and you begin to see why it isn't the best choice of melee weapon.

And also, when you add up the in-store costs on all the items, you end up with a fairly decent savings over buying them all separately. Just the temp powers are a buck each. Then you get five self-rezes and five dam/acc Inspirations...

Chainsaws also create a lot of noise. Anyone who has been trying to survive in a post zombie apocalypse environment will tell you.. noise is your enemy. I personally prefer a katana for melee purposes and use.. i mean would use... a SMG for range.... Just saying.

Everything in it can be earn, like Were Wolf Whistle which can be earn by doing the Striga Mission Arc, forgot which Contact, but i do no you can get a refill of it, if you run mish again in ourobos. This is not a need it Kit and feel sorry for anyone who bought this, everything in the kit can be earn, give us something Different or hard too get temp power.

Villains that do not switch sides don't have access to the WarWolf Whistle.

Heroes and villains that are below the level of the arc don't have access to it.

The same is true for the Holy Shotgun Shells.

It's even more true for the Baseball Bat temp power since it's a crafted item. Free accounts and Premiums below a certain Reward Level don't get the drops for it or access to crafting that is needed to make it.

Not everyone is playing a character that has access to all of the things in the pack.

I don't even think there is a way to earn the Self Revive power unless it is a temp power or a Day Job temp. I've yet to see a way to earn the Dual Inspirations outside of the Paragon Rewards.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Actually, you only get the Warwolf whistle power the first time (either through originally playing through the arc or the first time you play through it in Oro - if you never once played through it in the regular game). Every time that particular character plays it a second time, you get an "Echo" of the power, which has only one charge.

I, for one, wouldn't mind at all paying a buck (or, frankly about one-seventh of my monthly stipend) for the version that has all five charges again. And I wouldn't mind paying about 80% of my monthly stipend for it to come in a bundle with the holy shotgun shells (there's another arc I don't have to pay for), a bunch of large dual inspirations, and five uses of a rather convenient self-rez power. Oh, and that baseball bat. But I don't really care about that since 'common temp power recipe drop' is kind of an understatement for that one. Of course, if I was free or low-tier premium and didn't have access to recipes, I might care more about the slugger.

Granted, I haven't bought it, but I certainly wouldn't feel sorry for someone who did.

An understandable limitation. Now, if only you could keep getting the Wedding Band over and over...

My understanding is that you can but the echo only has a 5 minute timer. Never tried though, so I can't confirm or deny from experience

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
