Badge missions

I have no problem when the title says "Wipe out the Council Base" but there is a mission in Croatoa where you are asked to stop 30 of fir bolg to get through the portal only after I failed the first time did I see in the Wiki that they explained the real mission is to defeat them all.
Okay I logged on and checked the missions available between 45-50. The only missions listed from Pither are those attached to his arc.. Alone in the Darque. The problem with trying to obtain the badge through flashback, if you failed it the first try, is none of the missions required to obtain it are linked in an arc and it is necessary to successfully complete all but the 15:00 minute long "Steal Forumal from Crey".
It's basically a race against time to determine that you CAN complete all the assigned tasks in the short span of time Pithers allows.. Making you a true Effeciency Expert. Now while I can understand your issue .. what part of Wipe Out the Council Base didn't you understand. Even the Wiki http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Efficiency_Expert_Pither states that while it is never a stated objective to succeed you are required to defeat all mobs. Didn't the title give you a clue at all... If all you needed to do was set off a bomb they would have, could have/should have, named it BLOW UP the Council Base. There are very few missions anywhere in game that make it as simple as findthe glowie, click the glowie, move on! .. notable exception the Get the data from the Crey Facility mission on the Manticore TF where it is possible for someone with stealth to locate and click the computer for a mission complete. Realistically I agree with you that since its a requirement for a badge they should make it clear what is required to be successful... Especially since there is no way to redo it if you fail. I can't confirmor deny it but the wiki states that you can't even join anyone else that has Pither as a contact and do the timed missions with them to earn the badge .. it has to be YOUR missions or all you are there for is support... Like Snow I soloed those missions to limit mob size and maximize my chances to succeeed. In my case when I did it I was still leveling my badger and wiped out all the mobs enroute to the bomb for the xp. As Snow mentioned at this time the only other badge mission I know of that can't be done via flashback is Negotiator... I think the problem is that while it is possible to be given the mission by several different contacts if you do it normally... Maurice Feldon shows as the contact when you access the mission via flashback and no one bothered to move Maurice out of Galaxy City when issue 21 hit. Galaxy City remains as an echo but can't be accessed normally and since its impossible to reach the contact when the mission is complete.. you constantly get a message stating the mission can't be accessed at this time.. hopefully they will fix this soon .. should be as simple as switching the designated contact to either Paula Dempsey (KR) or Tony Kord (Atlas) since eother of them are still reachable. Oh and just to clarify .. if you haven't been to the Echo of Galaxy none of the old contacts that used to be there exist .. at least not in Galaxy. I guess because Paula and Tony gave out the exact same set of missions someone decided maurice wasn't needed any morebut they forgot to remove him as THE point of contact for the Flashback!!!!! |

you can talk to maria without being introduced, i thought i had to run a bank for her on a toon i recently moved to heroside to run her arc, all i did was open the "find contact" thing and she was in there and just let me tp to her and start her arc without touching any other hero mishs
I've heard reports of players just walking up and clicking Maria (without being introduced) and having her offer them missions. I can't test it myself since all of the characters I have that are high enough have already been introduced to her.
It might be worth it to at least try. |

Ohhh I hate that mission! Your sort of right but the idea is not to allow a total of 30 to get through the portal. With a full sized (8 man) team there are more than 30 on the map.. but they will all eventually headtoward the portal... If the only requirement was stop 30 from escaping when you solo.. kill 4 or 5 and you'd be done. BUT.. the mission won't end until every single mob slowly lumbers to the portal. I sped up the process once with a scrapper by ignoring guarding the gate completely and just racing around the map killing everything I could. I think about 7 or 8 escaped before I cleared the map for a mission complete!!

I dunno, it didn't work out that way for me. I successfully completed all the missions up until the bomb/kill all mission and the final stupid mob was bugged and stuck in a wall. I could see the mob there, trying to get to me, but I couldn't hit it.
But, since Efficiency Expert is of level 45-50 range, you can't ever accidentally out-level it. Also, while it's pretty wonky, it's possible to fail some of Pither's tasks and still get the badge.

There was literally nothing I could do except watch helplessly as the timer ticked down to zero... and FAIL.
All following missions were completed successfully, but no badge.
Failing because I messed up, sure, I get that, but failing because of a bugged mob? That hurts, heh.

You could try petitioning for it (although this late might be unlikely).

If it ever happens again, just petition and don't turn the mission in.

It lists the five missions needed to get Efficiency Expert. The "Steal Formula from Crey" is needed for the badge. There is, in fact, a hidden badge ("Efficiency1" badge which doesn't count towards your badge total and is never displayed) for that mission.

You have to do the following 5 missions ONLY, they must be successful, and only the mission holder gets the badge.

Edit:
As soon as TonyV unlocks the wiki to allow edits, I'll be updating the wiki for that badge.

In my experience, this is not correct.
What I think happens to a lot of people is that they get introduced to Maria at some point while they're busy with something else so they don't remember it. Every time you start doing missions for a new contact, they will introduce you to ANOTHER contact very quickly, often after a single mission. If you're looking for a specific contact, start someone else in the same level range. As soon as they offer a new contact, go to that one and do their missions until they give a new contact. Depending on what missions you get, you can get every contact in a level range in 20-30 minutes at most.

The Mentor Project
Yeah, my mistake was in completing the mission. Once I did that, they couldn't help me out. Lesson learned and all that.

Maurice was actually moved over to AP with the other contacts, but for some reason Ouroboros is still looking for him in Galaxy. The effect is the same, you can't do the mission successfully.

My question about the Efficiency Expert badge is can a level 50 Hero switch to red side and get it? I have almost convinced myself to switch my Hero badger over for the red side badges, but if he can't get that one, I will not bother.

it is true she did introduce me to another contact within 2 mishs (i believe it was crimson), but i did not have to run a bank mish to unlock her and i did this very very recently (within the last 3 weeks), i went directly to her from the find contact window on a lvl 50 toon
In my experience, this is not correct.

Agreed, either people are just confused, or there's some weird bug I've never heard of at work.

i was 99% positive i had to run the bank mish to be introduced to her too but all i did was open the little find contact option and it said i did not know this contact (when i was at maria jenkins) and it let me tp straight to her, i talked to her and started her arc, and this was a toon who had been villain for like 3 years (created villain and everything)

Well if you get a choice of the other 46-50 contacts, do a mission for them, you should be sent to another 46-50 contact after the first mission. Repeat as needed. There are only 4 contacts that get introduced in that range.
Not always, in my experience. However, repeat the process and you'll almost always be offered her the second time (rarely I've had to do it thrice).

Yes, a hero turned villain can get the badge.

Apparently there has been a stealth FIX for this, you can now get this via flashback, the game will direct you to Paula Dempsey in Kings Row.

Where's the best place to quickly amass Tsoo Sorc defeats (for the Tracer badge)? I'm pretty familiar with most blueside territories, but a lot has changed/been added since I stopped playing three years ago, so for all I know there may be a place where Tsoo Sorcs hang out in large numbers, the way Warwolves and Vampyri hang out on Striga Isle?
When I hunt them I usually go to Talos, as Snow suggested, You'll usually see a good number of them around the warehouses near the gate to Skyway. They also seem to have a strange habit of hanging out on the same street as the Police Station in Talos and at times you can find Scor. North and South of the entrance to the PPD. They can appear anywhere but I have never failed to find them in those locations and if you start to hunt them in those areas youo can usually get the game mechanics to spawn them faster. Good hunting
