Union: The 9pm @ Founder's Falls Recap Thread

Founder's Falls, formerly the small colonial township of Smithtown. The Red River rose to shape the area, and it now stands as one of the most opulent and expensive areas of Paragon City to live.

The small park area around the newly installed Yellow Line station has become home to the people who used to gather at Galaxy Girl's statue in Galaxy City, before the Shivan Meteors struck.

With a planning bid for a small memorial to the event, it became the logical meeting point for those that used to go to Galaxy Girl, just as people met under the statue after The Prize called the heroes of the city to arms in March 2005.

Between the close proximity of the Vanguard DPO, the PTA Train Station and an entrance to interdimensional nightclub Pocket D a short walk away it provides a handy, if a little out of the way, meeting place with amenities nearby for drinks and food to go.

-

Founders Falls is the new meeting place for one of the oldest RP gatherings on the Union Server. From 9pm BST/GMT till whenever people leave, it's a place to find new friends, assistance and to take the weight off your feet.

Heroes and civilians are welcome. Vigilantes might want to mind mention of their lawbreaking, heavy handed ways. Rogues are generally welcome if the heat isn't on them and they're not mentioning illicit activities. It may not be the best place for a villain to monologue.

The old Galaxy Girl global channel, GGOOC, is still in use for the new location.

-

((PS. As someone who's been there for almost seven years now, I'll say this: Sometimes if plot is happening, characters and players can get a little caught up in it to be terribly social. Don't worry, it happens to everyone now and again. Give it a few nights.

My other recommendation is that a completely unsociable character is not a grand choice for a social RP meeting place. It -can- work sometimes, but those willing to say hello and introduce themselves typically do better.

Feel free to ask questions in GGOOC, and there's lots of excellent help available in the Union Roleplay global channel as well. Note that Global Channels are unlocked at Reward Level 3 for Premium players. As such, Free Players and Reward Level 1 and 2 Premium players can't access them.))

Last night at Founder's Falls:

Constance Svanhildr swung by, just as Tiger White was leaving in response to a text message. She had Shadowe to talk to though, and pretty soon Theo Dray dropped by as well. There were discussions on just what a tourist should do in the city (it was decided shopping, in Steel Canyon and Talos Island, were good ideas), and there was more talk of the impending walking dead.

Constance is rather looking forwards to that. She's never fought the undead, and the Ghouls back in Praetoria don't count. Which lead to Theo making a 'are they missing fingers' joke.

This spawned talk on bad jokes, and a bad joker that Constance once knew. The mood was lowered a little when she said he'd been killed on an IDF attack on Paragon City, calling a senseless waste, but they soon got back to discussing what to do for those new to the city.

When Wandering Wolf ... well, wandered by, there was some mention of fishing. And more jokes from Theo.

Chatter continued before Constance made the trip back to the Rolando Pound Storage warehouse in Independence Port, where she's currently staying with Zahir, Maxi and Five.

It was a while after her departure that a young woman came by with flyers for the Fuchsia Hourglass Restaurant on Talos Island. With winter coming, their switching away from their Autumn menu, and the flyer acted as a 10% off the total cost of dining there.

Flyers were given to Keevan, Theo, Brie, Richard and Shanna. I'm aiming to get the page for that restaurant up on the Unionverse wiki some time this week.

With her flyers handed out at all the stations, and a brief chat about meats of various kinds, she decided to head back to help with the clean up, and I had to be up at 0630 for an early shift at work.

(Woo, first recap post!)

Thanks for the new thread, Z!

Not a lot for me to recap, since you covered most of the salient points, though there was talk of Andrea Huntington's planned Halloween party (which I might be able to squeeze into an in-game event, if I'm able to put in the time to plan properly), which Richard is dreading.

(For the record, Andrea is not planning the sort of party that Rich hates, but he doesn't know that. If I decide to go ahead with an in-game party, everyone else will find out, somehow, but Rich should be kept in the dark.)

Yay, a new thread and a brilliant intro to it too, thanks Z!

As has been said, Ellie was called away right at the start of last night so I missed what happened, but it wasn't just a case of me wanting to be elsewhere OOCly. I actually received an IC /tell in the form of a text message and she had to go meet someone in PD that took up the rest of my evening.

Tonight, I hope to be there, but need to chat to the two players involved in last night's IC meeting first! Thanks to now having to get up at 5:30 EVERY day, I had to bail before it got too late, so things were kinda left hanging...

Every day? Ouch!

Shanna arrived a little late and briefly discussed Tarvin's distressing tendency to exaggerate people's powers with Keevan. Apparently, this is something his little brother is known for doing, and it's actually meant as some sort of compliment...

She also persuaded Richard to bunk of the Wednesday board meeting to go the the Fuchsia Hourglass with her as a last night out before the Halloween "fun" begins.

Saturday at FF...

Jess was there for a while.. but I can't really remember what happened while she was there.

Later, Erik showed up. Shirtless.
Funny story that.

I would like to note (before I get the next piece of fiction up):

The finale of the Better The Devil You Know plot will now be happening on the 7th November 2011 ~8pm GMT (Time to be confirmed).

The date given in the cryptic message (24/10) is still plot relevant however, and the date has been shifted in-story as well by Minister Dunne's promise of military backup for the heroes. I'm just putting the date out there now so people are aware of it. Yes, it's the day after Theo and Issa's wedding anniversary!

ETA - Thanks Z for providing a BRILLIANT opening to our new recap thread. I hope the old one isn't lost forever, because it contains so much wonderful time the RP group have spent together. I look forward to even more great times with everyone (and new faces) in the future too!

ETA 2 - And it's up, a look into the mental state of one of the new antagonists in the Forseverse, Muzzle. Who's been mentioned in a couple of stories so far, but hasn't been the focus just yet. He's not very nice.

Last night...

I uh, pretty much spaced out not long after arriving, so my appologies about Jess' nonresponsiveness and then quick get away without a word.

The idea of a fight between Muzzle and Dale Drake amuses me greatly.

Last night:

Kerstin dropped by to get a blood sample from Shanna, needed for a spell that Isaiah is working on. She was quick to gather it and soon bid people fairwell and headed back to the super secret shadowy base that Unit N have.

Lance 'Twilight's Flame' Silverstone dropped by and explained how Robyn was mean to him, but still offered her a steakwich at lunch today. There was some silliness on his part (Lance, silly?! ABSURD) that had people laughing till some tiny green bat started on about his shoes, helped in no part by Tarvin.

Lance decided to leave, feeling uncomfortable by their going on about things, which is a shame because he was discussing with Kumi the joys of Christmas + Hanukkah.

That man is loaded with chocolate coins come the end of the year.

Sean Wilson dropped by on his way out of the Vanguard War Zone and on his way to Ryan's for some dinner.

Last night:

On Natasha Sheers: Nat arrived after taking down an ATM mugger who swung a two by four at her. She made it kindling and then punched him in the face. There was chatter with Mary about shopping lists for Halloween before Toppa and Shanna turned up. When she introduced herself to Starborn, Toppa was a little worried about her being a reporter, seeing as he was discussing some Forseverse stuff.

After some talk about Galaxy City, Nat soon headed off home to start on the Christmas pudding for December, and get coffee and brandy ready for M when she came home.

On Dale Drake: Dale swung by in a bit of an itchy mood, that wasn't helped by Tachyon Spirit's presence and her radiation of magic and high energy particles. Excusing himself, he wandered over and shifted into a werewolf form, and proceeded to meditate for a while before shifting back and wandering over. By way of explaination, it turned out his father had shot a sacred wolf by accident, and Dale bore the brunt of the curse. It's what lead him to study martial arts, as a way to control his new twist on life with discipline and willpower.

On Kuromizu Kei: (Hooray for Alliterative Names?) She was only swinging by briefly from the Vanguard DPO, but the sky went dark as the supernatural banners of war of the Unseelie Court manifested into Founders Falls, so she shifted into the armour of her giant magitech Warstrider, Baltzam, to go and warn people away from them.

Last night at FF...

There was general chit chat and discussion of zombie killing methods with Tam mentioning the league that he and Theo have going (which Toppa can't join because he's a cheaty mage!).

Unfortunately, Tarvin put his foot in it in a rather epic fashion, which eventually had Shanna making a poor excuse and going off to "deal with" something - that something being her desire to punch Tarvin!

Then, when she was about to return, there was Rageā„¢ and I had to go and give emergency hugs.

This is new. Not even I know what I did!

I think it was something to do with the 'Honour' topic coming up again, though Tarvin received plenty of persuasion this time to just drop the 'workaround' he tries to be sneaky with.

Or something like that... or was it scaring kids?

Tam had hotdogs. He's not Sonic, though the guy was packing up so he didn't have any chilidogs left. He talked with his mouth full, and got told off.

Also, he's not revealing his costume early, and he's ignoring the current situation of the character he's dressed up as (who's currently dead).

It was indeed the honour 'loophole'. Not something that Shanna found even remotely acceptable.

And don't get me started on how Rich (who left before Shanna, that night) feels about the whole thing. He's contemplating taking Tarvin on his personal brand of training course.

So long as he can term it 'educational'...

Last night. Nothing was happening at the station so, after a zombie apocalypse and a bit of a talk about food with Richard and Squish, Tarvin went off.

I considered taking him to the D but didn't. So Keevan went instead and had rather a good conversation with Ellie. After watching her encounters with Outclaw and a girl whos' chat up line was pretty much "I'm a lesbian; please sleep with me". This amused him. Keevan advised that he's bought a home in Salamanca and T's going to get the key when Keevan decides to wander on.

Are you sure Tarvin's not going to get in a tizzy about not being able to accept it because it's been given to him?

This COULD be why he's not planning on letting Tarvin know until after he goes...

Or not.

Last night comprised general chattage. Ellie did warn of a certain other cat-girl and her ways.

On a humourous note, If Tarvin wants to look more dangerous, perhaps he should get a collar... http://cdn.svcs.c2.uclick.com/c2/983...5b?width=900.0

Last night was fun. Not at the station but at Huntington manor, a Haloween party was held and Tarvin brought his prank side for once, playing pranks on Tam (with a rubber snake), Erik (pushing him into a jelly filled pool with a force bolt) and Richard (covering the bobbing barrel with a forcefield and removing it when Richard pushed really hard so he went in.)

Ellie, of course, pranked him with - amongst other things - an animatronic pumpkin head and an impression of a Tiger shark in the Jelly pool.

Not to mention an invisibility balaclava (the result of her experiments in invisible underwear) that she wore under the pumpkin head, so when she took that off, she looked headless!

Stuff was indeed funtimes, or the hour or so I got to do right at the end was! Stupid client being all crashy and not letting me turn up until incredibly late.

Character references! Artz! Whatnot!
