you just have not def and not enough fire resist to farm.
aim at least 32.5% def + 1 purple insp
and 90% fire resist.
you're taking 2 times more damage with 80% resist than with 90%.
if you PL for money, get vengeance, it's nice for SC'ing all def with minimal slotting.

ive seen alot of farmers without vengance run it i didnt notice the fire res not capped that could be part of the problem but the more i slot for def the more im loosing on rech and the forum is always on the fence whether to slot for def or rech ill see if i can get it fire res capped
i tweaked the build to have capped fire res and dropped the fighting pool to have vengance but i dont know how to slot to cap it without loosing rech should i rely on vengance im not really wanting to have to but if it is necessary then i guess i can change it to fit the build?

Don't drop fighting, drop concealment.
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
This is what I would do with your build for fire farming. Note, this is probably still nothing like I would do for myself; I just tried to keep mostly to how your build was.
Added a substantial amount of fire defense and capped the fire resist.
If you were looking for non-fire farming, I would go a completely different direction.

Ultrawatt built this. Cost me 1.25 billion to get there, and that doesn't count the LotG's I had. Also, you will HAVE to swap to villain for patron power, then back. It's a hassel, but it's worth it. I farm +4/x8 and never eat an insp. EDIT: I should add that I swapped Grant invis for Hover, but slotted the same. No noticable loss.

This is my secondary build for farming. Cost like 1.5 billion total counting the LotGs (which were 750 mil so it's not actually an expensive build and I could farm before them, also I bought the Oblits as crafted IOs at buy it NAO prices, paid 80 mil for some).
With 27.5% fire def I can farm +4/x8/bosses without using healing flames with 1 small purple, anyway there's always 1 small or medium purp (to softcap) dropping from bosses. Insps makes it much faster. Actually since purples rain I usually farm only with the fire shields and Combat Jumping on, not that it makes a difference because with Ageless up everytime I need I can run all those toggles (tactics I never run). This build could farm comfortably before Incarnate powers too, but I needed Consume (and the odd blue insp, now I just convert everything to reds).
Only things I have in my tray are FS, Burn, Elec Fences and Ball Lightning (KO Blow too for missions/TFs), the AoEs are always up so I don't need anything else - the rest are damage insps combining macros, I'm always surprised the farm has already ended and I'm considering going for +3/x8 because I usually cap tickets in the first two ambushes before the glowie.
I don't have consume because I have ageless, I could've kept it instead of taunt but since I'm still working on his primary build (which will be decent for normal content, it already is but it has only like 50% global rech for now) I found that Taunt is useful for TFs - using some orange/purple insps and whatnot makes me sturdy enough to aggro full team mobs since I kill everything so quickly, even with this farm build, in any TF I keep my powers, FE+Rage+FS+Burn = everything dead, the others finish off the boss or I use KO Blow, it's decent enough with Fury.

Ultrawatt built this. Cost me 1.25 billion to get there, and that doesn't count the LotG's I had. Also, you will HAVE to swap to villain for patron power, then back. It's a hassel, but it's worth it. I farm +4/x8 and never eat an insp. EDIT: I should add that I swapped Grant invis for Hover, but slotted the same. No noticable loss.

Can you post your values of DEF and Recharge for this build?
I opened the data chunk in Mid's and I'm seeing a 27% def to Fire. Questions that I have, could you replace Rise of the Pheonix with Spring Attack, it would give you another AoE attack and I've seen several people say that for a farming build you shouldn't need Rise? And if so, with all the global recharge couldn't you take a Slot out of Hasten and move Maneuvers up to where Rise is so that the slot from hasten (which according to this build was taken at 36) could be given to Spring Attack to six slot an AoE set? Just a theory but I thought the idea was to kill as many things as possible in as little time as possible. Also, is Pyre Mastery a good sub for Mu Mastery or is the damage from Mu far superior to Pyre? I have a hero SS/Fire brute and I really dislike the idea of running 30 tips +3 alignments just to get Mu then try to get back to blueside if I don't have to. If the damage is greater then I will.

I respecced into the EXACT build posted by Tourette's above. My combat stats show the following:
Running Maneuvers, Plasma Shield, Fire Shield
Defense = 7 Ranged, 11 Melee, 10 AOE/Smash/Lethal, 15 Fire/Cold, 8 Eng/NEng, 6 Psi
If you invoke vengeance, you'll cap Fire at around 45%. If I run Stealth I get a smidge more than the above but I've got END problems with this build as posted.
All of this prompted me to ask Tourettes some questions and here is what I got in a reply:
The build, as posted and according to Tourettes, is designed for +4/x8 NO BOSS ticket farming w/out using any inspirations. I've tested this, it works as advertised AFTER you grab some incarnates (mainly for Judgement but I still find its harsh on the END bar as built w/out Cardiac). He did say he goes faster with inspirations than without, and also that inspirations are almost a must if he's bringing along someone for the run....its mainly meant to be a solo run build.
If you want to use this build for +4/x8 PL purposes, you'll need a lowbie (obviously or no PL) and this is how you cap your defense to Fire on a Fire farm via Veng. Your recharge is high enough as posted to keep Veng up almost all the time when PL'ing someone. But I STILL use the inspiration macros (for reds mainly) to keep my damage way up there.
You will also find this build is a very high END hog when taking on +4/x8 WITH bosses. I went T3 on Cardiac to fix that, plus grabbed T3 Reactive and T3 Judgement/Ion while I was doing iTrials. Doing +4/x8 is now quite easy with this build (as posted) + inspiration macros. Without the macros, you'll definitely need RotP because you'll almost certainly die if you happen to invoke an ambush about the time Veng drops.
As for dropping RotP, going Fire, etc.
-RotP in addition to being a timesaver if you are killed (it happens) also is slotted to give you a +2.5% recovery bonus. END is an issue on +4/x8 and you'll want all the END you can get.
-I've got Fire Mastery on my other SS/Fire brute and frankly I don't really see much difference between it and Mu. Perhaps the set bonuses for Mu make a difference....I really don't know. My other SS/Fire is slotted very different from this one as he's an all-around PVE toon that happens to be an OK farmer/PL'r as long as I use the inspiration macros. All I can say is plug both into Mids and see if the set bonuses are giving you something in Mu you can't get in Fire. The way Tourettes has the Mu powers slotted, you are getting 18.75% in +RCHG bonuses.
No comment on the spring kick power. You could likely drop the third slot from Hasten and then use the enhancement booster on two lvl 50 IO recharge enhancements to accomplish the same thing. I'm not a math whiz but I'm sure others have discussed that around here elsewhere.
By the way, doing the hero-vig-villain-rogue-hero round trip isn't all that bad. Yes it takes a full week, but if you set your difficulty sliders down low, you'll burn through 5 Tips a day in around 30 mins of playtime. Its nice to have all the options of all powers available to you.

I kept RoTP+Taunt because I run the occasional TF with him while the primary build which will be a decent all rounder isn't done (too much altitis) since he is good enough to off-tank (I actually have tough instead of kick in the farming build for now).
Anyway since insps rain and the farm is over quickly I actually don't even run maneuvers and weave on them (only the FA shields and CJ), so I go with about 20% fire def and use 1-2 purples at a time, 54 bosses usually drop big insps so I'm good as long as I have 40%+ fire def. The rest I convert to reds. And even when I'm too lazy I just mash f1-f5 and I always have enough def and damage to go through the farm since when you're at +4/x8/bosses you don't need more than 1.5 ambush + click glowie to cap tickets.
Before getting Mu I had Fire Mastery (he started as a villain but I got him to 50 without the Patron arc), Mu mastery is a bit faster but nothing staggering imo. What made more difference was getting T3 incarnate stuff (Spiritual, Ageless, Reactive - I got Pyronic for judgement and I hear Ion is better but I only get to use it once per mission before I cap tickets so not worth the hassle to go after t3 Ion now for me). Since at those levels of recharge I have AoEs up faster than I can click them (and I'm not exactly at maximum concentration when farming, even with binds I sometimes click Rage/FE five seconds later than I should), maybe I wouldn't even feel a difference if I still had Fire Mastery, anyway Spring Attack should be a good choice if you don't wanna go Mu and don't need RoTP which I use for TFs and used in iTrials (not that I needed it so bad I couldn't have used wakies, I like self rezzes especially this one that's so flashy), the last time I died on a farm I was like 50+1 with the alpha unslotted I think, when I had just upped from +2/x8 to +4/x8 with bosses so it took some time to adjust, plus I was barely IOed.
If you're talking about my build (it has 27.8% fire def) yeah sure you can replace it for Spring Attack.

Solo I did some missions at +2/x8 and he did fine (with heavy insp usage), but I had to lower the diff way down with arachnos, like 0/x4 (even carnies were ok, malta I didn't try at x8 because the malta missions were right after the Arachnos in my aligment missions so I didn't change the diff back) - I *think* it's because when you face too many arachnos solo, even if you are softcapped with lucks, there are many mobs shooting you from range with exotic damage so he got owned, my frankensloted 40 sm/elec is actually better against then because of Fault and Elec Armor's resists to end drain, psi, etc.
Dunno if it will be much better against those when I finally get to make a 'really decent' PvE primary build (plan is to have good s/l, but he's not very rich atm because I bought lots of miracles and numinas for some 20s toons that were making me nervous with end issues )
Yeah Arachnos are definitely my weak spot as well. Either I lower them to trivial challenge level or I just outright avoid them.
This is something I am getting very close to attaining - a few more purple sets and I'll be there.
I haven't updated it since a few issues back. With the new way you can get fly etc. immediately it was very tempting to go solely for Leaping as my movement power and get Spring Attack.

i have my ss/fire brute fully slotted already i have so much time and influence invested in her but i cant seem to farm lvl 54 fire ambush maps or spread out maps i see tons of other builds handle it np i think something is wrong with my build can you please assist me in fixing this problem here is my build
