What happens to my stuff on Wentworths if I stop being VIP

At the end of the month my subscription time will run out. If I were going to play COH I would stay a VIP, but I need to focus on school. Previously, I could cancel my sub and come back to find the items I'd put up on wentworths still there, or sold. Just want to make sure they won't disappear if I'm not a VIP/have an auction license. Thanks.

Before I21, bids and items would disappear after 90 days. After I21, they haven't told us whether this has changed or not.

I dunno about this, I've come back to characters that haven't been used in over 200 days and they still had their things on the market.

Edit: I don't mean bids or selling items though, just stored ones.

I've come back after multiple 90+ day account lapses and I don't think I've had any items vanish. I definitely had stuff marked as "sold", stored, and "bought"... not sure if I didn't have any bidding/selling due to them being deleted, or having all already gone through (I'm thinking the latter, but not sure).

I've come back from a long absence and found money waiting for me. Dunno when the sales were, though.

The solution seems simple. Just don't leave anything sitting in the market when you let your sub lapse and there won't be anything to worry about.

When I came back between i20 and i20.5 after about six months off, I had none of my bids or stored items left; anything I had purchased or sold was still there.

That's not so simple as it may seem, if you consider that one of the Reward Levels includes Auction House access as a Premium. In fact, you can buy Auction House access off the store too.

If someone chooses to go Premium for some amount of time, but still be actively playing the game, they may well have reason to leave stuff on the market, though likely not for the lengths of time that used to trigger the removal of items.

As I recall, the original implementation (back in I9 days) was that the market would steal everything if you didn't log in for a few months, regardless of whether you paid your subscription or not. After half a dozen issues or so they changed it so that nothing was ever deleted from the market as long as you kept paying. When they did that, I think they stopped clearing things from the market under any circumstances. And then they merged the markets. That was when Going Rogue hit, wasn't it? At that time they jiggled things around a lot, to deal with the change. Stuff bought and sold probably stayed still, but bids and items for sale were canceled and put into storage in the market, if I remember correctly.

What will happen now? No idea. But my best guess would be that everything will stay exactly where you left it in the market, but you won't be able to access it unless you resubscribe or buy the market access thingy.

Then you should have contacted a GM. Due to complaints from returning inactive players, items on the AH never expire as of several issues ago (before I even took my hiatus).

When I came back after ~6 month hiatus with a lapsed account, all of my items on my characters who had items stored in the AH were still there.

If you read the page, it says "The definition of "inactive" now refers to an account whose subscription is no longer paid for. Yet there is still some question as to whether the consignment item deletion for inactive accounts also has the 60 day grace period."

This means no one confirmed whether or not that's the case, so you can't use the wiki as your source material. (The wiki isn't always right, sad to say.)

Your stuff should still be there. And you can take it off the market. Just, if you don't have the right to access the Auction House, you can't put stuff in again.

I have a secondary account I allowed to go inactive. I was able to log in and remove items I had sitting on the market.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Horrible solution!

Better solution: don't let sub lapse. Then the fun never dwindles.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

I think what I'm trying to convey is that I'm confirming it. I would change the wiki to be accurate, but I am unsure on if things changed again with the I21 publish and the F2P players. Thinking about it, if Premium accounts with market access become inactive, will their AH inventory be saved indefinitely? Seems like a huge burden on the database.
