Patron Pools available Heroside
Quote:
Add in APPs for Soldiers/Widows and you've got a deal.
What we need here is a compromise solution. Add a single contact blue-side with a starting availability at 40th. Say a ranking Wyvern officer, perhaps the guy Manticore put in charge of day to day operations while he's off mentoring newbies like the Shining Stars, hitting on his wife, or getting his **** stomped in the LRSF. Have his offer a 3-5 mission arc, of similar difficulty to the current patron power unlock arcs, where your character goes into the rogue isles to swipe a series of important props from the various factions. Red coral, a case of non-biometricly encoded Arachnos maces, some ancient Mu artifact, and/or a dark spiritual ritual totem, all culminating with your daring escape back to Paragon and a climatic battle with Arbiter Unger.
Thus the patron pools are still something to work for on both sides of the line, but don't require the heroes to go through the whole "fall and redemption" process that their villainous counterparts are exempt from. |
Branching Paragon Police Department Epic Archetype, please!

I would be totally and completely cool with this.

Oh did I now? I suggest you go back and read my posts. Not once did I "extrapolated a behavior to the majority with no evidentiary support". Go back and please point out where I did that. You cant because I didn't. I pointed out what I did. That I was adding to the player base on the red side and that would never had happened if there wasn't a reason to swap over. Just because you two blow through tips on -1 doesn't mean everybody does. In fact that sounds mind numbingly boring. I enjoy playing the game like it was designed to be played, as a MMO on a team.
Yes, you extrapolated a behavior to the majority with no evidentiary support. Feycat didn't do that. She expressed only HER OWN experience. So yes, I did see what you did there. You presented an argument that does nothing to contradict the argument you were countering. All it did show is that you can make stuff up.

Actually, you did.

Bolding mine. See what you did there?

That's you. That's not most people. When I'm side-switching JUST to get a PP, I don't run teams. I don't talk to people. I blast through tips as far as possible at -1/x0 using stealth if I have it. It's just an inconvenience - I add nothing to redside by being there for the 4 days it takes me to get my PP and leave.

Ditto. I was annoyed when I realised I had to take my Crab back across to redside in order to get the PPs and associated pets I needed. I've been using my Bane build to stealth through Tips, and I'll do the same as much as possible with the PP missions. I might even auto-complete them where possible and log out of that character for three days to rinse and repeat. I don't like redside or the PP missions.

When I run my patron arcs? I set up calls in Grandville, send /tells and what not saying I'm about to start one up and ask if they want to run the arc along with theirs. Because it's easier to do in teams, it's more fun and it's helping other players that may need assistance getting their patron powers.

You'll get no sympathy from me. Not because I'm some red side fanboy, but because I can't stand simplifying the game to the point everything is handed to you and all you have to worry about is farming for your inf to buy your enhancements and be done with it.
I hope, with every nickel and dime I spent on this game, that if every so call 'QoL' feature were added to the game except one, this would be that one that does not.
Show me something that says those can't be ice created sharks. They don't look like real sharks to me. I can easily see them as ice creations.

Okay, I am unaware of this, I don't play redside.
Are you saying villains actually have to unlock APPs? If so, that's rubbish as well. Let everyone have ALL the APP/PPPs available to them without having to do ridiculous acrobatics! |
no APP's are unlocked for all AT's regardless of morality.
Patron Pools are unlocked by running the first Patron Arc.
I've always had access to a set of APPs redside, but if I wanted PPPs I had to perform one of the patron arcs. Blueside, gotta go bad to get the goods...
I think the best answer to this is to create Heroic Patron Power Pools with their own unique flavor.

I've suggested how to do it, even comes with a permanent gold title for your avatar!

They're Epaulets not pauldrons.
Red Side also needs a way to unlock Witch Hat and Pauldrons Fair is fair after all. |
Also, I've always felt the Witch's hat should be unlocked by doing the Darrin Wade arc, you could just tack on some dialogue at the very end where Darrin's like: "By the way, this arrived in the mail for you, something about 'the Cabal showing their gratitude' does this mean anything to you because I don't get it."

Um, I guess you didn't see what I did there huh? That was me being a wise *blank* and shooting down your post like you did mine with a quote from YOUR post that "extrapolated a behavior to the majority with no evidentiary support".
