Moral choice permanently changes character name
I offer a 50M inf prize for the best in-world explanation, as judged by me.
Possibly due to a plan to remove titles such as king and similar by the devs, The "The" is also available as an ingame title so it may of been caught by a semi implemented system that's all but inactive. (Except it seems for the Resistance.)
@Coolio Wolfus
in the old character creator typing in "The" would automatically make it a title
im assuming it may have not caught it at character creation and "fixed" itself when you finished the tutorial

edit - no offense to the OP (or their toon), but hey - 50mil is 50mil
Virtue Server Forever !
Pure White Lightning - Level 50 Electric Brute
Purple Drop - work in progress Axe/Shield brute
Blue Icefall - Level 50 Ice Tank
@Blue Lava
It presumably could be put back the way it was at level 15 by visiting a trainer and choosing a title, which includes the independent options of no title and "The" so he could be The Pernicious Prince of the Whales, or just The Prince of the Whales. I haven't tried that. It was just a bug test, he's still level 2.
thats a different issue then, sounds like a probable bug

You are technically changing sides when you go from Praetoria to Primal. And the sides have different titles available.
So, the game resets your title upon side-change. Can't have any Statesmashers in Paragon City!

Actually, you can have Statesmashers in Paragon, as long as they pick the title in Praetoria and leave it completely alone in Paragon. It's only switching between red and blue that clears your title. That might be a bug, maybe gold titles are supposed to be cleared on side switching, too.

Edit: Obviously there's currently a bug with the naming change, and the next patch will also remove any caps from the name, as was originally intended.

Ya, turns out I failed at reading. Misunderstood the nature of the problem. I still imagine it's a case of the title getting reset on 'faction change' between Loyalist and Resistance [and the assumed 'default'].

How come your forum name is yellow/gold and everyone else is white?
Possibly due to a plan to remove titles such as king and similar by the devs...

If they truly do decide to do this, I hope they at least can provide a logical reason for that decision. Something beyond the iconic heroes being offended by the idea of the lesser mortals claiming titles.

User CP, left panel, Networking, Group Memberships. You can select either the standard or the VIP for your style .

I made a Praetorian character named The Prince of the Whales. On choosing to join the Resistance my name was immediately changed to Prince of the Whales. I seem to have left an article behind in the subway station.
The same thing doesn't happen if I choose Loyalist. It doesn't happen in the Galaxy City tutorial. Entering an instance or a city zone neither reverts the change nor causes it on a new character.
