The log-out bug isn't something on NCsoft's side of things. The issue, a very well known one, is a vBulletin software issue that the developers at vBulletin have yet to fix.

I have a thread bookmarked on my other PC that's at the vBulletin help site that is at least a hundred pages long that licensee's of their software have been complaining about for at least a year. It might have something to do with the software not reading/writing cookies correctly.

Strangely enough, after chaning my master account password to regain access to the forums, I haven't had the log out issue. Think it's been 2 days and I haven't been looged out.

Right. In any case, should be easy to make it take half the space.

Since changing my account password I've not been logged out mid-session once. I have however been logged out at the start of every new session - the 'Remember Me' box just doesn't do anything at all anymore.

Same here Biowraith. Not sure which was more annoying.

Same thing here...after changing my password (to the same thing it was before) in order to login to the boards at all, I haven't gotten forcibly logged out while browsing, but if I leave the window open too long, or if I close the forums and come back, I am logged out. At least this way the new threads aren't all marked as already read.

May as well put the super jinx on it...
I, as well, have not been logged out during a session (and I also changed my password [to the same one] in order to log in the other day).
I don't use the remember me thing, so, I haven't experienced that (it does remind me of the Seinfeld bit with the car rental place and the difference between taking a reservation and holding a reservation... hehe).

Anyway... This computer has been logged into the forums all day... I've been in and out and posted and checked several times and not once been signed out...

<.<

You do realize that we're now due for repeated auto-boots every 2 minutes...

(And I am still [and will always] select and copy all before every single post... what a great feeling when you get kicked out, but don't lose anything because you copied it first!)

That's been my modus operandi for a long time. Comes from being Mister Wordy.

Curse you ZM. Now I have a new add-on to search for. Hopefully I can find a version of it that works on FF 3.6.x since I plan on staying with it. One of the add-ons I use doesn't work on FF4 and up and they aren't planning on updating it. I don't want to lose it's functionality so I'll stay in the current versions as long as possible.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Add me to this list as well. Same symptoms exactly.

did you try manually changing its compatibilities?

From reports by other users that have much more experience than I do in changing things in add-ons, that doesn't work.

No sense me doing what they've already done.

I use the portable version of FF3 to peruse the forums so that FFvB still works (FFvB is broke with higher levels of FF, and changing the compatibility line doesn't fix that). And Lazarus works with FF3, too.

Yep, that's the very add-on that I don't want to lose. I haven't messed with the portable version and don't really feel like messing with it. At home, I have no need to update to a newer version of FF. At work, I have one machine updated and one that isn't so I can read the forums during imaging, installs, lunch, etc.

The vastly superior ignore function is worth sticking with the older version of FF for me.

EDIT: For those that don't know, the FFvB Ignore feature not only blocks you from seeing the users posts, it blocks it when people quote their post so you don't see it then, and it doesn't give the little line saying they posted. It really really really ignores them.

I use FFvB to ignore threads. This way, I can more easily scan the New Posts lists. Any threads that I'm not interested in get put in ignore and thus they don't clutter up new searches. I use the highlight function to highlight certain posters so that the threads they start stick out... so, depending on the subject line, I can pre-emptively ignore that thread without even opening it up.

Any word on the logout bug, Zwill? Every time I come to the forums, I'm logged out, like many others in this thread. It makes it very hard to follow what is or is not new.

Remember Me hardly works on any forums for me. Except one, in which I have never had to log back in again ever. Eeeeeeeeeever. I Heart IP Board.

@craggy see me on Union for TFs, SFs (please!) or just some good ol fashioned teaming.

I have a few other boards I frequent. 3 of them run vBB. I've never had a problem on those boards with being logged out.

I'm logged in on 1 of them right now in a different browser just looking at new threads from last week. I last logged into that forum in April.
