Idea for PvP
You, drink? I chuckled inside.
This would be fun to do, maybe not as a league, but an event of sorts. It would be just like the forever-ago ages of PvP when I used to do it in zone.
Wait, this isn't an excuse to watch my end bar drain in 30 seconds flat is it?

This is one of the very parameters of the 'camp' for those wanting to put their foot into PvP. With SO's and Hami's it's bare and the builds and/or effects of 'zone' would shine. (Or lack there of). Included that even on a switched build you'd still be able to enact Incarnates (w/o Lores like KB).
I would have to say it still makes things askew. Although Hami's don't offer bonuses to PvP like the PvP IO's do, some would still be at a disadvantage. Once again, one of the parameters that is being taken into consideration for this upcoming 'camp' that is in the works. No PvP IO's? No Purps? No Hami's? Patience is a virtue.

Force Field defenders and Stalkers would rule such a league.
You would have to seriously consider banning powers that can easily abuse KB, not whole power sets but those powers in particular, (Power Push, Force Bolt... anything that does over mag 9 KB... *cough* tk blast)

An SO league would be interesting to try and might garner much more attention. Of course I'm in.

You won't have recovery bonuses from IOs, so Therms might get nasty.
You probably won't be near the hit point cap, so 1200 hit point squishies are going to make for some nasty matches.
Unscrupulous players could still "cheat" by slotting a single IO in some powers to boost performance.
Recharge on powers might be sluggish in making attack chains.
That said, I'll be glad to help out if it gets going.

I think where I was going with this is, maybe more along the lines of a kickball event where you could use regular invention IO's/SO/Hami's. I understand that there will be certain powers that may prove to be better to use in an event like this, but you will always have a run in with this problem. The point to making an event like this would be so people who don't pvp farm and tend to play this game, more then just sit afk making infamy, have a shot in competing once in a while in PvP.

Well to be honest there are people who do invest allot of time and infamy to make a pvp character to play and I am sure you are one of the very few. Most pvpr's I am aware of have 2 accounts and park themselves into pvp zones to make there infamy and don't tend to play the game in anyway that does not benefit them in pvp, there is nothing wrong in doing this.Just stating that some people like to actually do more then pvp and therefore will have a hard time in investing on a character that they may only use once a week.
If you had an event like this, I'd play and, most likely, have fun. But I think you're focusing on the wrong thing.
Budget PvP builds exist (for teams, at least - 1v1 is a different animal). Some KB IO's, a Miracle and/or Numina proc, a few LotG's, and some Devastations make for a perfectly competitive kickball blaster. I played through the entire first Freedom League with 0 PvPIO's and 1 Purple IO (An Apoc proc I got as a drop while leveling my Psy/EM - it was fate!). Granted, I was no elite player (I'm still not), but it was effective enough to be competitive, get farmed, and learn some skills.
Spike + Lock + Evade > Glad Javs + Apocs + Panaceas. Those super expensive GJ procs really aren't worth a nickel until you've got the skills to put them to good use.
An all SO event might be amusing, but it's not going to be a stepping stone toward becoming a competitive PvPer. KB mechanics vs non-HP-capped toons change the game enough that you'd be learning warped skills for a warped environment. It also wouldn't likely change the status of players much - the best all-out hardcore players will still be the best SO-only players, provided the bottom half of the crowd skill-wise didn't invest a LOT of time in breaking the format - time that could have been invested perfecting the skills needed for more standard IO'd PvP.
I'm not trying to be negative - it's an interesting idea. Just trying to point out all the angles.
Was wondering if there would be people who would maybe like to partake in a league where only SO's and Hami's were to be used. I mean, we could use up that 3rd build just for this league. I think it would be cheap for new people who want to try pvp and fun. I know I drink allot but I think I got something here, no?
