I did, I actually played in the Beta but never bought the game. I just figured I was still subscribed to some list somewhere.
Just got it X2 since I have two accounts. Like I needed more spam.

Man, are they trying to piss people still playing off? What is probably a really desirable feature, tied to a micro-transaction, and a butt ugly pet to boot? If I were playing I'd give serious thought to quitting just for that one email.

That said, no, last I looked there's no option to choose JUST COH emails. It's either all NCSoft newsletters or none.
I got the email, though I've never played the game.

Well, even primitive Yahoo Mail enables me to add "From: contains 'Aion'" to my filter list.
Problem solved for me!

Even better: They sent me a duplicate email to the same address. I wonder if the person responsible is using Outlook and tried to recall the email after it was sent.

I thought Aion was the game where accounts got hacked. I don't know if NCSoft thinks I'm an Aion player, or if my PlayNC master account is vulnerable.

If you're thinking of the NC game that had mass hacking that led to the clampdown measures on the NCStore and then later our Master accounts, that would be one of the Guild Wars titles. There may have been hacking incidents in Aion, but I'm not aware of them, and it's a much more recent game than GW.

Thankfully gmail is smart about it and folds identical mails into the same subject thread.

And I almost never get emails from them.
Beta invites, newsletters, announcements, etc... nada. I only found out I was in the Issue 20 beta when I checked the Dev Digest one day and saw that I could see their posts in the CB forums.

I got one email from Aion - I wouldnt exactly call that spam. Always thought spam was something that was repeatedly repeated, or some kind of questionable meat you get in a can.
There is always a lot to be thankful for, if you take the time to look. For example, I'm sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt. ~Author Unknown
"Spam" also refers to any sort of unwelcome marketing email, or emails sent to an entire mailing list regardless of its relevance to the recipients.
