City of Heroes:Freedom news from Comic-Con San Diego!
Thanks for the news!
I'm also wondering if there was ANY word on the content coming our way?
We were told of monthly signature arcs coming our way. I'm hoping they're interesting and fun to play and not like these arcs we're normally getting (more interesting story, unique SUPER enemies and original maps are my hopes).
What about any increase in addition of content? I'll be honest, the 4+ months between issues has caused a huge reduction in my playtime and sub here. New costume pieces and powers are nice but when you get those, it is still a lot of repetitive, redundant game play. That will not hold me for a long time and I am sure many others are also in that same boat. Add unique, compelling content on a more frequent basis
I wonder if the Beam Gun weapon models will become available to the MM Robots primary...

Much like how VEAT Soldiers could easily use all of the AR models, but can't.

You know what I mean. Identical concepts/weapons don't necessarily mean customization options, swords being the exception only recently.

VEATs appear to be more bounded by concept, though. You get limited weapon choices because those're the weapons the Arachnos in-game use. Robotics Masterminds don't have any such concept restrictions.
Not that I use the rifle attacks on my own Robotics MM. >.>
What shall claim a Sky Kings' Ransom?
PPD & Resistance Epic Archetypes
Greetings my super powered compatriots! I am currently waiting for the CoH panel to begin
Earlier today i went back to the booth for ncsoft and played around with the three new sets in more detail. Expect a report tonight.
Anyway, I came on to ask everyone to submit questions for the panel. It's in about 20 minutes, so send in those questions.

If you mean submit em here, then I have two serious ones and one selfish one:
Serious: What's the status on Power Pool, Epic Pool, and Patron Pool customization? And will it include being able to customize the various flavors of Sprint as well?
Serious: Is there anything they can say about bases? As in, any new items, any thoughts on personal bases, any thoughts on some new paid Paragon Points base stuff? Basically, has there been any dev thought and/or work given to bases at all lately?
Selfish: I desperately want more customization options for Katana/Ninja Blade. A lot of the swords available to BS would work fine(LONGSWORD PLEASE), if only their handles were stretched out to accommodate 2 hands. Any thoughts on actually, you know.. doing that? (And to expand a bit, one could also inquire as to giving VEATs access to some of the Assault Rifle options as well.)
Thanks for the questions Kyasubaru.
While at the Q&A I could only ask one question so I asked about the possibility of updated/alternative animations for powers. They said no.
At the start of the Q&A they also specifically said "No questions about bases". It's upsetting that they're not putting any sort of focus on them.
Anyway, for what you REALLY wanna hear about, POWERS!
1st sad tid bit... you will have to pay for these three "premium" power sets. This is unless you are a VIP player which means you're paying for your account anyway. More on stuff you can buy later.
Time Manipulation - OMG this is now my favorite defender set ever. It's essentially a ton of buffs and de-buffs that when used in certain combinations become more powerful. The buffs and de-buffs mostly focus on move speed, attack speed, defense, to-hit(for allies), and resistance(for enemies). Expect me to make a Beam/Time Corrupter right when I21 comes out.
Beam Guns - Alot of the same from my original post, but the de-buff that boosts the power of Beam Gun attacks is the T4 named Disintegrate. It's a high damage DoT that lasts 10 seconds and all powers used in that time have increased damage and secondary effects.
Street Justice - Not a lot to add here. It's a lot of street brawling. Combo count goes up to 3 and the Build Up for the set will automatically give you 3 combo points.
Next is a segment of the game I couldn't try out while at the booth.
The new Sewer Trial, which works similarly to an incarnate trial and is for both sides now.
The missions for Atlas and Mercy were changed.
The new area, First Ward, is the remains of Emperor Cole's first attempt at building Praetoria and his greatest failure. Hovering over First Ward, visible from any point on the map, is "The Seed of Hamidon" An event boss who drops seedling minions who win killed grant a temporary flight power so that you can join the fight against the Seed. This new area will have three new enemy groups and will give a lot of back story to Emperor Cole and Praetoria.
There is also a new Incarnate Trial. It takes place deep under Praetoria where you find that the Devouring Earth is still alive and regrouping to fight again. You are trying to rescue an important NPC and the boss of the trial is "The Avatar of Hamidon".
New content will become far more common. There will be weekly costume pieces available in the shop, a new Story Arc every month and a continuance of at least Issues a year.
Most content available to VIPs will be available to free players trough purchases and a Paragon Points system will replace Veteran Rewards. Don't worry, all paid time will go towards Paragon points and after Freedom you will obtain 1 every month. There will also be new reward options. There was also something about "tiers" but I didn't pay much attention. All I know is top tier can buy an amazing new costume.
I should have a chance to try out the new trial sometime before Comic-con ends. Stay tuned folks and if anyone else went to the panel, please add in anything I might have missed.

Don't apologize, I enjoy knowing if I need correction when it comes to using terms like that. Rather be corrected than continue to sound like a dolt.

I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this info! You are a credit to your server. I'm just glad I ran a search and found this post.

GIMME!
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

To not make an edit people won't notice as much, I meant 3 issues a year, as is the norm.
In future news, I'll be trying out the new content I couldn't cover before tomorrow. Today I was buying stuff and chilling in the Nintendo Gaming Lounge :P
Also loving Beam Gun, and hoping there are 50s/60s B-movie weapon customization options.
