Issue 21 */regen brute superteam

So, they want me to lead.

Silly people. They should know better.

Anyways, since this has been dropped in my lap, I figured, before I get all crazy dictator like, I'd seek some input from those that would join in this */regen brute foolishness.

First, a time should be established so that people will know if they can participate, if they decide to do so.

I am thinking of a 2 night per week run. Once on Tuesday, Once on Saturday.

Tuesday 9:00pm Eastern
Saturday 10:00pm Eastern

I think it would be good to go gold, then red, and then blue if the team would prefer it.

Now, I'm accepting submissions for the name of the VG. I anticipate having one started before Issue 21 hits, then the toon that makes it will drop out, leaving the lead to some of the */regen brutes.

I'm liable to pick something loopy like House of Donuts or something like that unless I get some suggestions from you good people.

I suppose, I should get a rough idea as to who's interested in this before I do anything else.

So, who's in?

*If* Regen actually turns out to be good on Brutes, I will be rerolling Razorjaw into a Regen Brute. I would definitely be up for joining in this.

Sounds like fun. My question is... when we tackle AVs, GMs etc. No source of debuffs unless temporary power Envenom Dagger. Brutes need fury to dish out some nice damage, how is the taunting be fixed?

You raise a good question. The simplest answer I can give is that I have no idea.

There may very well be some things the group won't be successful in doing. However, my thinking is that on any given team of 8, when some of those teams have a debuffer, that particular toon may only be doing somewhat less than average damage.

Although a brutes base damage may not be in the class of a blaster or scrapper - with enough fury, it should be able to get there, or even pass it.
Given that premise, I'm thinking that a brute's fury will overcome the regen rate of just about anything in game, except maybe Hamidon(with mitos) and it's silly little range/melee/hold requirements.
If I could pull out a regen brute along with 7 others and find out, I would. As it stands, this is a question that will be answered when 21 hits. I'm not wasting my game time to play around in Beta or test, leaving a toon with time invested in it in beta/test limbo.

Questions on this topic are not only welcome, but encouraged. I am NOT the brightest bulb in any bunch. Be prepared for disappointment. However, I can promise at least one stale joke each outing. With the new tutorial giving you a choice as to whether you want to be a hero or a villain which side are you going to do said regen brute superteam.

You can also do Shivan runs before any extra tough fights Matty McTwinkletoes. Maybe do them at 20:00 hours?

The problem with a regen brute team won't be GMs or AVs. All Brute super teams have been run before (other servers) without any problem taking down GMs/AVs. Envenomed daggers go a long way and who would be dumb enough to attack a full team of regen brutes who are trying to get shivs or nukes?

No, the problem with a regen brute team is going to be participation. Not everyone likes melee, not everyone likes brutes, and most certainly not everyone likes regen. I know some good players that loathe melee and much prefer the support-y role.

I was thinking maybe an all weapons super team would be fun and it would enable more classes to be played. Brutes are getting katana and BS, scrappers are getting war mace and battle axe...Pretty much any AT aside from controller or dominator (and khelds, but who counts those?). Maybe after the regen brute ST I'll look in to running a weapons team.

Also, in i21 I hear after the tutorial you pick which side you want to go to, allowing you to skip praetoria if you are tired of running toons there.

After further review, some off-forum in-game discussions, I think opening up the Superteam to all */regen toons would be a better way to do things.

Also, since we apparently have the option to choose from the tutorial which side we go to, I think we'll start there, and go to whichever side the majority of players opt for.

I am inclined to go blue side because I know it better - which is why I'll vote for red side.

There's plenty of time - some folks think issue 21 won't hit until maybe Thanksgiving or Christmas - so please understand that things may change between now and then.

Man Ukase, I just realized today that the i20.5 change to SB would have been awesome on the Kin super team. Sad face.

Well, I'm planning on making a StJ/Regen brute...so I'd love to join this group...

Again...2 things:

1.) Unless it's on a sat./sun. then I most likely can't join (or mon.-fri. mornings)

2.) Again, going to make a StJ toon...and StJ won't come out when i21 comes out...so...*shrugs*

NAR was talking about a scifi-ish themed ST with energy weapon set and time manipulation set. Though it is still in talkings and no real details are available, thought I'd pass that info along to people interested in STs.
