Question about Teaming

So, I know my schedule has changed recently but I am finding it increasingly difficult to find/field teams for non-trial content (TF's, missions, etc.). Is the populous depreciated that much? Or is it that the Incarnate Trials and other end game content leaving the < 50 folks feeling like step children?

This, I am thinking.

You mentioned a schedule change, so I'm curious as to what time you're playing. You'll definitely find different levels of activity depending on when you log on.

I'd also keep in mind with the launch of the new Keyes trial there are a lot of people that are going to want to run that. That's the way it is with anything new that comes out, trial or not.

People are still running non trial content, myself included. Look me up if you would like some help.

It's a combination of two things. Firstly, the City of Heroes player population is at an all time low. Secondly, the remaining players are mostly running Incarnate trials, leaving the pre-level 50 content high and dry. Between the two, the server is a ghost town outside of the Rikti War Zone. I started my Dual Pistols / Dark Miasma Corruptor back in March, and it took over a hour to get the minimum number of players together for certain task forces and such. A couple of times I had to give up because I couldn't get enough people together to start something. I never had that occur while leveling any toon prior.

Let's face it. If City of Heroes was doing well, it wouldn't be going free-to-play.

Well I mostly play early evening "6pm-7:30pm" eastern or after 10:30pm est during the week....I know part of it is the new content...maybe because I'm more pressed for time now it seems a bit lackluster. Of course trying to gather souls in Rift isn't helping

Everything is a Nemesis plot! Wait, or is it Everything is not a Nemesis plot? Either way they're to blame!

As I decently detest the Incarnate Trials I'm always willing to join up on a regular TF or random team if I have the time (precious little amounts of that lately unfortunately) You know where to find me.

Conjecture.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

How would you even know this without being on Paragon's staff? Even if every one of your friends left the game forever tomorrow, that doesn't mean there's less people playing than there was 6 months ago. It just means your friends left.

You could say "I've been having a hard time finding teams to do X for months" but the game goes through periods like this all the time. It's summer, school is out, it's vacation time, Issue just dropped, etc etc. All these things contribute to lower numbers this time of year doing the standard stuff that's been in the game for years.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Well said.

On a side note, I see new names all the time.

While it's impossible to say for sure, it's highly likely that the population is indeed at an all time low. The fact that people are finding it hard to build teams is one indication.

CoH has been making less and less money which is another indication. Also, for people that have been playing the game for 5+ years like me, just by playing the game it's painfully obvious that there's not as many people as there was.

This game is so boring now its sad. Personally speaking only reason Im still playing this game is for the pvp league on champion, and pvp isnt nearly the same as what it used to be like! Also I personally think its funny when any1 says that this server is a " GhostTown " which is incorrect becuz all the Ghosts left Town.

I've been playing for over seven years, and disagree. What now?

Whether someone thinks the server population is an emaciated shadow of it's former glory or stronger than ever before doesn't really matter. Either way it's both a) perception and b) only a single data point.

The only way to tell would be based on subscriber numbers. Whether current ones are floating around or not, I don't know. I'm sure as hell not going to google it on my damn phone, maybe when I get home.

tl;dr: this argument is stupid.

You disagree? So, if I ask you if you think there were more players, say 3 years ago, will you still disagree? If so, I'll call you delusional.

The fact is, CoH's 2011 Q1 earnings marked an all time low. Now, that doesn't give us subscriber numbers, but it gives us an idea of the state of the game.

Somehow I'm not surprised that you have insults prepared. We're done.
