Signature story arcs
From the overview page:

I'm pretty sure we'll get a least one for each side with Issue 21.
Issue 21 packs in the First Ward co-op zone, gripped in mystical conflict, as well as the Time Manipulation Power Set, the IDF and Defense Costume Sets, and the Underground Incarnate Trial. Signature story arcs, free with VIP players' subscriptions, let you fight alongside iconic Heroes and Villains in story arcs that make a difference in the City of Heroes universe. |
Arc ID: 348998 - Becoming a villain
Arc ID: 373341 - To Save a Hero
Got Inf?
This had better be an on par thing. I never did enjoy the idea of playing sidekick or lackey to a signature.

They'll either force the signature character to act wildly out or character and hold the Idiot Ball or contrive some situation to kneecap them so they need our help.
Otherwise, they wouldn't need our help.

Depends on the level, the story arcs as of late [and even the trials] are trying to show us as getting more power than the signature characters.
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!

They've sure got a funny way of doing that: Taking signature characters I could previously solo or duo and having them take on 24 or more players at once in Trials.

Or are you referring to the devs arbitrarily kneecapping the Freedom Phalanx and making them hold the Idiot Ball in the flavor text?

I guess in a ego-manical world the idea of needing help or assistance is insulting to the every day hero.

I mean, God forbid we have to work with signature heroes without taking it as a slight or insult to our self-esteem.
Wonder Woman must be so friggin' pissed everytime she has to work with a lesser hero whenever Superman or Batman aren't available.
Or the Blue Beetle must feel besmirched every time he has to work with one of the leaders of the Justice League.
*rolls eyes*

I question why Manticore needs the help of a level 4 Blaster who hasn't figured out how to change the ammo in their guns yet.

There'll be one arc for each side, each one with 3-5 missions in it.

So you agree we're the sidekick comedy relief.
The same reason Spider-Man needed to teamup with The Fabulous Frog Man?

I rest my case.

Everyone understands what comedy relief is, no need to link to a website explaining it.

Anyhow, yep. in that case we would be. Level 4 teaming with a level 50? You are, essentially by definition, a sidekick.

Always remember, we were Heroes.
The signature arcs might be set to certain levels - like maybe they won't even start until, say, level 20.

I hope not. Hopefully they will eventiually cover the whole level range.

I also hope that they'll be liberal with what they mean by 'Signature' hero, to make arcs featuring the lesser know/used NPCs.
Always remember, we were Heroes.
Hmm... from the wiki, it seems that pretty much any NPC Hero/Villain might be counted as Signature: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Hero_Slayer_Badge
Thats good.

Quite, although I would also like some more exploration in the character background of some of the less-delved Signatures. Foreshadow could use some, for instance.
Let's Dance!

I've heard these mentioned in conjunction with i21 and CoH:F, but they're not on the i21 overview page and from what I've seen the devs have said zero about them while releasing all this i21 info.
So has there been any word if they're going to begin releasing them with i21 or later?
