The very rare components are the only things I'm missing from being able to slot 10 Tier 4 powers across 3 characters. I have another 4 characters that only have the Tier 3 Alpha unlocked. Conversely I only have 8 characters I can use the ascension (regular, decor, or radiance) parts on. So yes, the price is too much.

I'll likely buy them as I spent a month on one character getting empyrean merits and also have an excess of astral merits, but that doesn't negate the fact that the fluff comes with an advancement penalty that is beyond what is needed. Seeing that the developer set price tag for the VR components is what it is, we know that the developers feel the price for the unlockables are worth around the same price as a PVPIO recipe. So about 2 billion Inf.

Feeding into this is the 25 million and 100 million inf price tag for the rare & very rare conversions (200 million inf + 16 uncommon components). If those numbers were lower, the costs on the costume parts were lower, the drop rate for VR components were better, or the Empyrean merit cost on a VR component was lower then it might not be so bad.

As it stands though, the costs impede character progression too much.

Seriously, after a while you just have to laugh.

After a slightly longer while, you effin' quit.
I, for one, won't miss you. You've had seven years of content designed for you. It's okay for some content to be developed for other people.

Especially when the released information on the next update is "Hey! Bucketloads and bucketloads of new content that IS for you! With more stuff each month!"

Just hopped in-game to purchase some of the new stuff. Since I have no interest in the Ascension pieces, and I refuse to purchase the auras or trail auras until I see them in-game, in action (as opposed to still-frames on the website) I have only purchased the Ice Block costume change emote and the regular generic emotes.

The regular emotes are quite good. Collapse and Swoon are a lot of fun, Ultimate Power is cool looking. Catch Breath pales in comparison, but can be very useful for RPers.

Ice Block is disappointing. I was expecting a Hibernate-looking transformation, but instead it looks like a grey, overgrown, translucent animation of the "Fossilize" power animation from Earth Control. Therefore, I will be waiting until i can see the rest of those costume change emotes, along with the auras.

Hope people are enjoying the new goodies!

For the record, this puts the total price tag of crafting a T4 incarnate power as 250 million.

Keep in mind, the casual players are also using their astral/empyreal merits to get their incarnate slots open and slotted.

I have 10 level 50 toons. Months after the incarnate system debuted, I still only have one incarnate with +3 level shifts. The rest are still running at +1 and have yet to unlock their Lore and Destiny slots. I have no astral merits -- since they had no apparent use, I was converting them to much-needed threads. I *might* have 3 emp merits on two or three characters.

I'm just too casual for this endgame content, I suppose. A shame, since that's all the new content we're getting.

Math failure:

2480 x Threads = 248 million Inf for the thread portion alone (provided you do the 10:10 + 1 million inf conversion over 248 days). Add another 150 million Inf for the needed 6 Uncommon -> Rare conversions. Add another 100 milllion Inf for the Rare -> Very Rare conversion.

498 Million Inf for the total price tag of crafting a Very Rare incarnate power (not including opening the slot).

Apparently this is a trademark GG sarcastic joke. I normally get those, but I haven't been *that* up to date with what's happening in i21, so I don't get the funny.

i21 has some stuff for casual players, yes. But it's not here and I don't know when it will be. We were discussing i20.5.

Actually, I wasn't counting either of those. Since commons and uncommons are common enough that there's no reason to convert to them.
